Re: Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town Is Getting A Switch Remake

Verg

So it's a remake of a demake of a reimagining of a N64 game? Ok.
They should've just remade Harvest Moon 64, while adding in the features and improvements of Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town.
@FTPinkRabbit
This has nothing to do with Natsume, it's Marvelous. It will most likely be called Story of Seasons overseas.

Re: Tweet Analysis Reveals Controversial Pokémon Cull Has Fans Evenly Split

What a pointless article and "study".
I guess this is where we share our hot opinions on the current debacle though, so here's mine: I would somewhat buy their excuse for not adding all Pokémon to the game, if the game in question didn't look like a Wii title at best and didn't use a ton of reused assets. As it stands, it seems like GameFreak are just trying to have their cake and eat it too.
There, I'm sure nobody else has shared this exact same stance, and I'm sure nobody would ignore it and pretend people are just hating because they're meanies.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th November (Europe)

Would've been interested in Asterix XXL2 if it was at a much lower price...
And I'm still iffy about them skipping a remake of the first one and jumping straight to the second, though I get why they did it.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st December (Europe)

@electrolite77 I think it's ok for that price. It definitely shows it was an afterthought version, and its not as good as the Rush games on DS, but I enjoyed it.
I might finally get the 3D editions of the first two Sonic games, although I've lost track of how many times I've rebought them now. Wish they made a 3D Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic CD.

Re: Reminder: It's the Final Countdown on Nintendo of Europe's eShop Five Year Anniversary Sale

Verg

@Moon I enjoyed Pokemon TCG a lot, enough to collect all the cards, and I'm also not into TCG games generally. The most I've played is Yu-Gi-Oh years ago, and only in video game form. I think it's worth it, especially at that price.
Got quite a lot of stuff off this sale. It came right on time for me too, as I just got my Wii U like a month ago. Along with the Humble Bundle games, I have a nice big pile of games to keep me busy now.

Re: Talking Point: In Praise of the 3DS eShop, Which is Now Five Years Old

Verg

I'm still bitter that my purchase of Pulseman is tied to the Wii mode of the Wii U with no way to transfer it, but I guess that's really more Sega's fault for not supporting the Wii U VC. What bugs me more is that it seems other system VC games and WiiWare games would not be transferrable over to future systems. Oh well.
Here's hoping that we see a bigger improvement of the eShop moving onto the NX.

Re: Talking Point: Pokémon and Mega Man Show Us Extremes of Nostalgia's Value

Verg

Was planning on getting one or two of the Pokémon rereleases, but at that price I could only justify it if they added online functionality or some other bells and whistles, or they had some sort of "buy 2 get 1 free" deal. I still have my Yellow cartridge anyway.
I'm surprised at the Megaman collection's low price, though. I'd consider it, since the only one I played through to the end was 9, but as someone already said the GC Anniversary Collection is better value.

Re: More Details Emerge on the Launch of My Nintendo

Verg

Yeah, I can't really see them giving us the option of having games on several devices simultaneously. I'm guessing it'll be something like, you have to go online and uninstall a game to be able to install it on another device. Which would still be better than what we have now, but it would still suck if the system you have it downloaded on breaks or gets lost.
I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

Re: Video: Check Out This Footage of Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories

Verg

It looks like your typical lazy mobile game, visual-wise. Gameplay seems like the regular Harvest Moon fare, though. The map seems really similar to the SNES one for some reason.
And for everyone that keeps repeating how this is not a "real" Harvest Moon, and how it's ruining the image of the franchise - it's not like the series had that clean of a track record in the first place. Plus, barely any of the original creators still work at Marvellous either. Yeah, it kinda sucks that Natsume is taking advantage of the situation, but that's business, what can you do.
Oh yeah, my favourite one will always be 64.

Re: The eShop is Opening Up in More European Countries Soon

Verg

@CroRock The eShop doesn't seem to be available in the countries in question, at least not yet. Either the news was fake after all, or the date was changed. I suppose only time will tell.
Anyway, even if they do open it eventually, your Nintendo Network ID is tied to the country you registered in originally, so you'll have to make a completely new account to use your region's eShop. Unless they give us some option to change the account region in the future.

Re: Rumour: The eShop is Opening Up in More European Countries Soon

Verg

Wow, didn't think I'd see Bulgaria on the list there. I'd have thunk Nintendo wouldn't bother, seeing how small the console market is here, and what little there is is mostly taken by Sony.
I'm happy though, now I'll finally be able to change my 3DS to my actual region, instead of pretending to be a Brit.
