Re: Playtonic Removes JonTron's Voice from Yooka-Laylee

ThePoochyKid

Hey, let's look at the bright side.

I've yet to see arguments break down into people calling each other Nazis/SJWs/white supremacists for their opinions on things that may not even be related to being any of those three things.

Personally, I'm not getting Yooka Laylee, but it sure isn't due to this blown out of proportion toxic tar pit.

I was kind of hoping you guys wouldn't post this, seeing as at least two other posts about this on other sites had comment sections devolve into innocent people being called nazis/SJWs. The internet sure is the worst sometimes.

I guess I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Playtonic probably made the wrong decision on this. Announcing the removal of JonTron's voice created... this vile mess. To be fair, I do see where they're coming from, but they could of handled this better.

1. Silently remove Jon's name from the game. This one should be self- explanatory.

2. Leave it alone. Seriously, it's about 3 seconds of gibberish spoited by a random NPC in some world. If they never spoke about this who would care? Heck, who would even would recognize Jon's voice?

The second argument I've seen is that this is a children's game, and that a white supremacist's voice shouldn't be in the game. Honestly, that argument is completely and utter bull oh wait we can't curse on here um... bologna . Again, it's a voice very few kids will recognize.

Look, I'm not supporting nor opposing JonTron. I'm remaining neutral on this subject, but I do think Playtonic should of left the voice in, if only to prevent the reawakening of the toxic pile of ooze known as politics on the internet.

Re: New Kid Icarus Awards Have Shown Up on My Nintendo in North America

ThePoochyKid

"Club Nintendo was so much better!"

Not really. On Club Nintendo, 700 points got you Kid Icarus Uprising. That's 11 1/2 retail Wii U games or 17 1/2 retail 3DS games. AKA $700 worth of stuff. (Less than 6¢ a point)

I got about 7 retail games on my Wii U before Club Nintendo went away, and only a few more 3DS games.

Not to mention VC games were 200 coins. $200 > a little $5 game as a reward.

Now let's look at My Nintendo.

30% off Kid Icarus Uprising ($12) for 80 Gold Coins, aka 2 3DS retail games or $80.

That's 15¢ a Gold Point, an inheritedly better deal.

Also, the MK8 DLC packs, which most MK8 owners do not have, are 60 gold points each for $7 worth of content. That's a bit over 11¢ a Gold Point.

And Wario Land 3: a $5 game for 40 gold points, a far, far cry from the 200 points for Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels.

Now that's not to say there weren't cool rewards on My Nintendo, but even the Game & Watch replicas were over 1000 points, which is way more than I personally ever had.

Re: Super Mario Run is Now Live on Android

ThePoochyKid

@Furealz Don't think about buying it due to something that'll effect basically nobody who hasn't gotten the game already? Okay.

@twadezelda3dsxl It changed on the App Store too, due to the Brexit and the falling economy of the UK.

@saturn_hero "Enemies don't even hurt you."

Yeah, I can vault over anything, even Spinie- OUCH!

You can't vault over like half the enemies in the game. And another good portion of it often attacks you in a downwards angle.

@Issi Slightly less that 1/3 of all Wii U owners own Super Smash Bros for Wii U.

As for Mario Kart 8, Nintendo's hoping to ship 16 million Switch units by March 2018. That's 9 million new customers, minimum (6 million Wii U owners who don't wonk MK8 + 3 million more), and that's if everone who bought a Wii U buys a Switch. Plenty of people who skipped the Wii U are buying a Switch.

Yeah, I know that's hard to believe, but this site is the vocal minority; only 54,000 people big, give or take. That's about 1/259 the size of the Wii U's userbase, and well under 1/1000 of the 3DS's. Heck, it's probably 1/27 max the Switch's current estimated user base, and not close to everyone on here is either active or has a Switch (or both).

Not to mention most people on here own a Wii U because, well, it's Nintendo Life.

Re: Project Sonic 2017's Official Title Is Sonic Forces

ThePoochyKid

@Slim1999 I'm not trying to imply all Sonic is bad, I'm saying that the first 5 games (1, 2, 3, Knuckles, & CD), Colors, and Generations are simply mediocre games. The concept of a Sonic game in and of itself is deeply flawed. Personally, I don't think it's possible to have a good Sonic game while keeping the core concept of Sonic the same.

However, Sonic Mania doesn't look bad. It might be the best Sonic game yet.
