Re: Save Your Loose Change With SNK 40th Anniversary Collection On Switch

@Atariboy

"Let it go already, you're just making yourself look foolish.."

How, exactly? I've made a cogent argument for everything. It's undoubtedly the reason why you've resorted to making some pathetic ad hominem.

"..and hateful just because you dislike America."

Yeah, nice straw man. I hope that's just hyperbole, because I've looked over my comments and cannot find any instance of America-bashing.

"When it comes to english speakers, it is the world."

Not an argument, unless you're suggesting that I should bend the knee - which is something that will never happen. It's almost like you want some interloper from some other part of the world to perpetually foist their culture onto you. You're very strange.

"There are more American users on sites like this than there are those from the UK."

And I don't care. Irrelevant. I guess by your logic that means that, if a large group from a foreign nation moves to our country and creates some enclave somewhere, they should be able to instate the laws of their religion/former homeland there. Now, you can call it a bad analogy if you like, but I don't really see how.

"Besides, its 2018, most of the english speakers outside of America are aware of what most common American words mean even if its just from watching American TV shows and movies."

Whoop! Current year, everybody! You're assuming that everyone watches American television programs and movies. No. In fact, I don't watch television at all. I have the Internet, which means I don't have to watch vacuous, insipid crap if I don't want to. I don't really even watch American YouTubers, if I'm being honest. Contrary to what you might believe, but not everybody outside of the U.S. was weaned on American television. I certainly wasn't, that's for sure.

"And those few who don't require the education. I remember watching the cartoon Batfink as a child and wondering what a "zip code" was. Now I know."

"And those few who don't require the education.."

Interesting usage of language right there... It's actually pretty useless information if one has have no plan to ever visit the United States. Or is it the common goal of every British man, woman and child to visit that country? I jest, of course, Ameri-weeb. Maybe.

Re: Review: Tengai (Switch eShop)

TheMudHutDweller

Cool. Nice to see some quality arcade shmups on the Switch. Now let's see some console/computer stuff. Here are a few titles that I think deserve another spin:

Akazukin Cha Cha Cha
Undead Line
Battle Mania Daiginjou
Flame Zapper Kotsujin
Nexzr
Super Laydock Mission Striker
Rude Breaker
Neural Gear
Famicle Parodic 2

Re: Deals: Check Out These Retro-Bit Famicom And Super Famicom Cart Collections

TheMudHutDweller

Cool an' all, but this seems like something of a missed opportunity. What they could have done, instead of churning out compilations of old console games, was hire some devs to do conversions of some old arcade titles that the vast majority of us never got to play at home.

Act-Fancer, B-Wings, Cluster Buster, Dark Seal 2, Diet Go Go, Night Slashers, Psycho-Nics Oscar and Rohga Armour Force from Data East, and Chameleon, Cybattler, E.D.F., Exerizer, Plus Alpha, Lord of King and Psychic 5 from Jaleco would all be possible on SNES hardware.

Re: Soapbox: I'm Secretly Terrified Of An All-Digital Gaming Future

TheMudHutDweller

Physical media all the way. Why would anyone want digital-only releases? What if your hard drive dies? Do you really want to go through the hassle of re-downloading your entire library? I know I wouldn't. As for cloud gaming; what if you are, for some reason, cut off from the Internet? Whatcha gonna DOOOOOO? Stare at the useless brick under your goggle-box is what.

Re: Rumour: Another 2D Metroid Has Begun Development

TheMudHutDweller

@Tarvaax

"Eww. How about they not and say they did?"

What do you mean? I think most peeps are going to be able to differentiate between polygonal and pixelated graphics - especially if the game looks like it's running on pretty primitive (by today's standards) hardware like Capcom's CPS3 arcade board.

"I never want to go back to sprites after Samus Returns. NEVER."

So you've never played the subsequent games that were released on the Super Nintendo and GBA? You really should, as they poo on the DMG game in every department.

If you're referring to the remake, then I think you're being a tad silly; don't know if you've noticed, but gaming is going through something of a retro revival at the moment. There are plenty of modern games drawn in the retro style that look the bee's knees. It's fine if you prefer polygons over pixels, but some 2D games just look better in the pixelated style. Rockman and Metroid are just a few good examples, IMHO.

Re: Super Mario Land 2 Gets a Fan-Made Colour Treatment

TheMudHutDweller

Doesn't work on official VBA & VBA GX; the game just crashes when you enter the Macro Zone. Does work with everything else and real hardware, though. Pointed this out in a (very complimentary) review of the patch and RHDN opted not to post it. Sod 'em. Just trying to help...

Re: Review: 80's Overdrive (3DS eShop)

TheMudHutDweller

Had a lot of fun with this one. With a dozen more track themes, this probably would have made an absolute mint if it had been a coin-op back in the day.

Actually, that sounds like a good idea - arcade release NOW!

Re: 80’s Overdrive Comes to North America on 14th December

TheMudHutDweller

YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!

Awesome! Been waiting for this one for a whale's age. Probably not an Outrun or Chase HQ beater, but who the heck cares? It looks absolutely brilliant! I'm just hoping that it at least plays as good as the likes of WEC Le Mans and Cisco Heat, two pretty nifty racers from back in the day, 'cause that would be aces! And if it is as fun as Sega's 16-bit best, well... I may explode. Or shed a tear. Or leak from somewhere else. One of the three.

Happy-happy-joy-joy times! It's nearly here and I'm fit to burst! BURST, I say! Yippeeee!

Re: Hardware Review: 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Gamepad: The Best Switch Pro Controller?

TheMudHutDweller

@bilboa

Ah, I see. Not being an owner of a Switch, I was unaware of Nintendo and the third-party controller thing (reason No. 3), so thanks for clearing that up. My bad.

Y'see how easy that was, ALinkttPresent? Do you see how the person I'm replying to chose to present me with something cogent, and didn't act like some prickly little nit? It was ALL you had to do...

Re: Hardware Review: 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Gamepad: The Best Switch Pro Controller?

TheMudHutDweller

@ALinkttPresent

"I definitely didn't ask somebody I never met before for their opinion."

Well, boo-hoo-too-bad-for-you, bud. This is an open forum and not your safe space. If somebody chooses to post something fatuous (like you have), then they should expect some kind of response. Adverse to the idea that your opinions may be challenged? Well, the Internet certainly isn't the place for you, then.

Re: Hardware Review: 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Gamepad: The Best Switch Pro Controller?

TheMudHutDweller

@ALinkttPresent

"Doesn't look to be officially licensed, so no thank you"

That's just silly. That's like saying that all home brew games are awful, or any unlicensed peripheral ever made for any video game system or computer has been crap.

Hey, if you just want everything you own to be Nintendo branded, or be officially licensed, then good for you. Enjoy your empty wallet, lol.

Re: Random: Say Goodbye To Miiverse With This Touching Tribute

TheMudHutDweller

@GuyMysterio

And you're still addressing the wrong person. You don't know me. But oh, I know about you - well, at least I do now. From what I've been told, you were some vile little cancerous sociopath who gained notoriety in Miiverse because you used to comment on posts of emotionally fragile children who were contemplating suicide, and urge them on to carry out whatever plan they might have had to end their existence to fruition. Utterly despicable. Did it ever occur to you that some of those kids may have been vulnerable, and had legitimate mental health issues? For all we know, you may be ultimately responsible for one of them taking their own life.

Now, you could claim that what I've stated above is spurious, and that I have the burden of proof, etc., but I can just turn that back around on you and ask for evidence of any wrongdoings by the arraigned - which you don't have, I'll wager...

Just remember who initially pointed the accusatory finger. Either bring me something substantive, or jog on, attention-seeker.

Re: Random: Say Goodbye To Miiverse With This Touching Tribute

TheMudHutDweller

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

The administrators routinely protected popular users who committed infractions, all the while putting the boot heel on the necks of lesser users who broke the same rules. They'd also target users; I remember instances where they'd erase multiple posts made months apart at the same time. I know this to be true because I was a victim of their bias, and I highly doubt that I was alone.

The above demonstrably proves that the mods weren't impartial, and indeed would make things personal if you called them out on their nonsense (as I often did through email). Utterly reprehensible, completely inept, totally power mad sacks of steaming dog crap who are incapable of taking valid criticism is precisely what they are. Why people continue to extol Miiverse, and did not abandon the loathsome platform in their droves a long time ago genuinely baffles me.

Re: Namco Museum Won't Gobble Up Too Much Memory On Your Switch

TheMudHutDweller

KEK!

So.. it's a handful of creaky arcade titles and what's essentially a GC mini game at an undoubtedly exorbitant price that (astonishingly) eats up a sh*t ton of memory, and Bandai/Namco actually have the temerity to try and sell us this steaming pile of monkey crap? They must take us all for fools. Who's that stupid?

Re: Gallery: A Look Back At Some Of Miiverse's Craziest And Most Beautiful Moments

TheMudHutDweller

My proudest moment in Miiverse was the number of people I got sh*t-canned. I was such an effective troll. I think the number of twerps I disappeared from the platform was well into three figures

What? I was cool with the majority of the denizens of Nintendo's social network. It was just a lot of peeps took me for a soft touch; some harmless so-and-so they could poke fun at. That was their mistake.

Hee-hee!
