Namco Museum comes out this week, and thanks to the game's listing page on the eShop, we now know exactly how much space it will consume on your Switch.
If you're struggling for space then you'll be pleased to know that just 876MB is required to download this retro compilation, which contains 10 classic hits such as Rolling Thunder, Pac-Man, Splatterhouse, Galaga and Dig Dug.
Namco Museum launches this week. Will you be investing in it?

That's more space than I thought it would take up actually
I did think it would take up less space tbh but unless it comes down to a more reasonable price nope not buying it
They could fit that onto a GameCube disc!
I'll likely grab this off the US eshop as long as the emulation is up to snuff, I do desperately wish Pac-Man Vs was online but I'm still looking forward to playing it in multiplayer
Space isn't an issue, I'm waiting on a review.
I'm all over it! Can't wait.
@TreesenHauser Me too!
Depends on ye olde price.
@TruenoGT Agreed. Pac-man CE DX is a game I would love to see on Switch as I think it would be perfect in portable mode.
I still don't understand why certain key classics like Ms Pac Man & Xevious are missing from this collection?!? Volume 2 coming perhaps??
But it gobbles a bit on the old wallet... I will have to consider this one.
how much will it cost?
It won't eat up any memory on my Switch.
Not worth it currently. Wonder if they'll offer more arcade games later (the ones all of us naysayers are crying about) as paid DLC?
That's pretty damn big for what is essentially a few ROM dumps (the likes of Pac-Man only being In the kilobytes range, I'm sure). It should have been no more than a few hundred megs, especially for a digital exclusive.
Too expensive at £29.99
@setezerocinco $30. Which is way to expensive. I thought it was going to be around $10-$15.
@sillygostly Especially when a lot of those dumps are less than half a megabyte lol
Couldn't they make the games full screen at least?
@MegaTen yup
@Steven_the_2nd it's about 3 bucks a game. Did you ever buy anything on the vc? If you did you paid more per game.
The more I read about this collection the more I want it. $2.73 per game is not something to complain all that much about.
The pic you used is the Championship Edition DX version of Pac-Man. Is that on the compilation? If so, yes, I'm in.
For a bunch of old games that's a fair bit, is there going to be a retail release?
Why is the file size so massive
Pac-Man Championship would be awesome on the Switch.
It's a rather small collection anyway, bet the thing that's taking the most room is the Pac-Man VS.
The asking price is too much for how little they are offering. They could have included all three splatter house games, or all of the pacman arcade games... Or Xevious. Or even pacman CE. Or all of the above for the price they are charging. Sheesh
That's honestly way bigger than i expected.
Oh well, i'm not gonna pick it up anyway unless it get's a price drop.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE no switch?
£15-20 and you have a deal.
@MegaTen My guess is there's a lot of the network stuff running on middleware that has to be bundled in full, and features a bunch of stuff that isn't even used in this game.
When it's missing classic games like Pole Position, Mappy, Rally-X, and other versions of those games, along with the other two Splatter House games, and others, it's hard to take them seriously, especially at that price tag. Also, can these even be played in 4:3 full screen, without the in-game borders?
why is no one talking about how this includes the first GC game on Switch?
$30 is a great price for 11 games
How much is it costing? I am at work right now and being lazy ; P
Oh, $30..... Okay, well, $19.99 and I would bite.
wow so much price for so little data & effort.
im out
@setezerocinco I think it's 30 pounds which is at least 15 too many.
@manu0 not really when you can pick this up for under 10 pounds on other machines.
@darthstuey this is the first museum to have splatterhouse, tank force and rolling thunder 2 + you can play in vertical mode. so no, you really can't pick it up on other consoles.
I didn't realise that- vertical mode is good- still not sure it's worth 30 mind.
I would have liked an actual physical cartridge. But I suppose Ill maybe get it on the eShop.
Maybe at a price drop. No Mappy and Ms Pac Man?
This should cost 20-25$.
KEK!
So.. it's a handful of creaky arcade titles and what's essentially a GC mini game at an undoubtedly exorbitant price that (astonishingly) eats up a sh*t ton of memory, and Bandai/Namco actually have the temerity to try and sell us this steaming pile of monkey crap? They must take us all for fools. Who's that stupid?
No physical release = no buy. I know it's petty but I'd have liked this for my collection. $30 for 11 games that are easily playable elsewhere? No thanks.
I'll wait for a Sale. A good Sale.....
Thats less space than the steam version of arcade pac-man.
If it was a physical I'd get it in a second. I don't like paying more than $20 for digital only (depending). But...I really like the idea of playing Splatterhouse on my Switch. Probs will come home from the bar some night and say "f--- it" and buy it around Halloween.
Keeping my eye on this. Hopefully no more then £24.99 in the uk. £2.50 per game sounds fair. Looking forward most for pacman and splatterman from this collection though.
@garydbz25 It's £29.99
Hmm...
£3 a game, with Online leaderboards, proper tate vertical screen support in tabletop mode, daily challenges, and PacMan Vs.
Tempting... Thing is, Namco Battle Museum on the PSP was the same price, but it had way more games on it and arranged versions of games too.
Just include about 9 more games or so and it would have been worth it. Nothing will ever beat the value of the Taito arcade collections I got 10+ years ago for my Xbox.
I would have spent $30 for a physical copy for Splatterhouse alone though.
I'll see what happens first, sale, physical re-release later, or a Steam collection.
I'm really excited about the list of games released. It's very convenient to have some games that I don't have arcade ports of
People need to stop whining about the price. It's fairly reasonable and Splatterhouse itself has hardly ever been ported/emulated to anything, not to mention Pacman Vs.
I'd say it's a pretty good deal all in all. It's launching at about the same price as Puyo Puyo Tetris and it's under a gigabyte. Sounds good to me. Splatterhouse, Galaga, and Rolling Thunder on the go should be fun.
What I like most about this collection is that they're focusing on stuff you can't get on the other collections and not going overboard with Pac Man games. (Previous releases may have been called Pac Man Collection).
@SepticLemon
Guess I'll wait for it to go on sale then. Wasn't there rumours a while ago about a physical release for this game in the future?
