I suppose this game is pretty good, I like the sequel "Real Bout". New Neo Geo games is good, but I´ll pass this one. I hope for some of the other Neo Geo series to surface this year...
@WAM2: Freedom Force is awesome. Especially modding your own superhero. Love the dialogue too. I hope Irrational will make another one some time. Untill then, I´m glad the STEAM version works on Vista. I haven´t played my Freedom Force vs The Third Reich yet.
Heh, we get Blue Shadow under the name "Shadow of The Ninja"? Soooo worth the extra 100 points^^ Anyway, I already have the Blue Shadow cart, good music, fun co-op action!
A western developer doing a J-RPG? Hm, I don´t think it would end up well. Still, the J-RPG genre has kind of died anyway. The stagnation of the formula coupled with too much work on HD graphics has made this the worst generation of J-RPG:s.
A new story would brobably make me buy a Metal Gear for 3DS. I´m getting a little more hopefull that this may not be another Twin Snakes after all. Since I already own Snake Eater I hope for a new game.
That´s my boy! I agree that not all good games get the sales they deserve, but I can´t stand companies whining about poor sales when they´ve released uninteresting games.
This is THE best portable game for me. I´ve played through it and after a confusing start I was hooked. Once the bosses got harder, i learned how the battle sustem works, and it´s a revelation.
Great story and characters. And I love the flavour-text about all the clothes you can buy^^
You know; this is not the same game as Rare made. It´s being developed by a completely different team, and will have it´s own leveldesign. They may own the rights for the legendary name Goldeney, but that does not make good gameplay.
This has been done before with Goldeneye: Rouge Agent. I don´t expect miracles this time either. Remember: this is a Eurocom game.
Yeah, Star Fox 64 is great, but I´m not buying it a second time. Not Zelda OoT either. But anyone who hasn´t played it yet should definitly give it a spin! Annoying bird! I am the Great Leon!
These graphics are fantastic. I wonder if they are ingame or just cutscenes? By the way, the character with the mean grin is Raidoh, final boss of the first game. So I´m asuming this will be some kind of remake / retelling of the first Dead or Alive. Fine by me, the Saturn port is fun!
KID ICARUS! It´s about time! And Sakurai is developing it? Fantastic. I don´t care about anything else, Kid Icarus looks great so far. Annoying voiceacting though.
Kinnect has the same problem as Wii had in the beginning -no games - but even worse. MS developers seems to have thought: " The Wii is a toy with minigames. Kinect is like a Wii, so let´s make partygames."
At least Nintendo tries to make real games too. We´ll see if Sony has one decent title coming up for Move.
@cr00mz: Final Fantasy II has a better battlesystem too. It was the first game with "active time battle", so it´s less tedious than BoFII´s take-turns-battle. FFII is actually more fastpaced than FFVII, VIII & IX (no loading, quick animations).
And yeah, the story is decent, music awesome. Highly recommended. Kain rocks... Golbez too^^
Pretty cool! The bushes in the background doesn´t fit the style either. By the way, remember the early shots of Super Mario 64? The castle hubworld had simpler textures with some painted halfmoon in it. And Ocarina of Time looked like crap.
Informative review! Seems like UBI (among many other developers) struggles with how to create a thirdperson game for Wii. I was never interested in this game, but I´ll play through the first Sands of Time one of these days...
In my oppinion the first SNES Pocky & Rocky is a lot better than P&R2. In the sequel, player 2 only gets to play as an assistant without real extralives. In the first game, co-op is a blast! The sequel also has some annoying soundeffects and a less good soundtrack. Yes it´s hard, but the stages are well made and fun to play.
Yes the Wii controls for Twilight Princess are terrible.
Stabbing with the remote to trigger preset moves instead of just using a button was a disasterous designchoice for my part. I haven´t even played through the game because I got tired of flicking my wrist in vain. I´ll borrow the Gamecube version from a friend instead.
@Croz: OH SH*T! Hanabi all over again?! Final Fantasy for NES will be a definite download for me, I´ve played through the PS1 version and loved it. The original version still has charm, NES music at it´s best too.
Looks like a fair batch, I´ll keep waiting for Blaster Master Overdrive though. It´s good to see some Neo Geo games again, I hope for KoF 96 & 97 someday, and Waku Waku 7.
But really, since the TV set does not have rotating mirrors most of the 3D-effect would go to waste. Sure, it´ll allow you to play longer, but I feel like it would miss the point. Purely a collectors item.
I agree with the review and the general oppinion. While not a bad game, MM4 never reached the standards set by the original trilogy.
The Mega Buster charging is a design flaw that was luckilly corrected in MM9. Being able to easily destroy anything in your way using your regular weapon made the extraweapons less interesting than ever.
I think Toad Man is among the best designs in the game. Sure he´s easy, but he looks awesome and has a different pattern from the rest of the bosses. Skull Man is the greatest dissappointments, he looks great but his "skull shied" is just a less good version of Woodmans weapon. No creativity there.
Speaking of creativity, the level design is quite mediocre. Horizontal passage - vertical -horizontal then boss. Repeat 8 times.
I love all the stages soundtracks in the first games. This game has a good intro, Skullman is nice and there is a decent part in the Ringman song. The rest never caught on.
MM5 felt like a great game after playing through this, and I´m very pleased that MM9 turned out as good as it did. Have to finish it before trying MM10... it will take a while .
Ha ha, it´s basicaly "Next console? It´ll be unique... but no comments!"
On the other hand, it feels like a new Starwing is very likely this consolegeneration. And I´d be surprised if we don´t get a new F-Zero within a year or too. If only beacuse Nintendo are running out of big licenses

Re: WiiWare Revs Up with Rush Rush Rally Racing
At last Dreamcast support for Wii Sort of...
Re: Insanity Grips the DS in Upcoming Shutter Island Game
I agree, the license itself is the games worst enemy. Knowing the truth when playing this game is bound to lead to some frustration.
Re: 3DS Gets Tactical Launch Title Courtesy of X-Com Creator
The first X-Com may be the second best game ever made. I´ll keep my eyes on this one.

Re: These Nintendo Demakes are Adorable or Awesome or Both
Junkboy rocks. He is one of the reasons Level is my favourite gaming mag ^^
Re: Planet Earth, Meet Your First Classic Tetris World Champion
Wow! The world championships are held using the sub-par western-release NES version of Tetris! Well played though!
Re: Billy Mitchell Back on Top of Donkey Kong
Can´t help but love him... he´s such an adorable badguy^^
Re: Review: Aero the Acrobat 2 (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
I absolutely hated Zero The Kamikaze Squirrel. Does this game feel similair?

Re: Nintendo Download: 13th & 14th July 2010 (Japan)
Metal Max 2 rocks. So cool post-apocalyptic RPG with your own customizable car. I wish it was translated...

Ufouria is good yes.

So much for Reggie´s "no glases" joke =P Screw sunglasses, long live 3DS!

Re: E3 2010: Wii's Upcoming Line-up
Um. Nintendo has a KILLER lineup for the Wii. The other companies? Not so much.
But never mind, I don´t have time to play more than a handfull of games anyway.
Re: E3 2010: Mario Sports Mix Coming Next Year
Who´s developing this? If it´s an inhouse game I may be interested. If it´s Hudson or some third party... hm.
Re: E3 2010: Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D for 3DS
Hm. I´m trying to get used to the way 3DS games look... this is realtime graphics for the portable Nintendo console rubs eyes

Re: E3 2010: Trailer of Wii-Exclusive Activision GoldenEye Remake Leaks
Uh, this is a bit weird. A "new" Goldeney with replaced main character? Is this a sequel or a remake?
And warning: It´s developed by Eurocom. They are not Rare in any way, and haven´t made one good game so far.
Re: Overdrive Your Master Blaster on June 18th, Europe
About time!

Re: First Sonic Colours Details Emerge
Another promise of "back to basics". I still don´t dare to hope for this one.
Re: Rumour: 3DS Could Rival PS3 and 360 in Power Stakes
Ha hah a...it would actually be kind of embarrasing if the Wii was out-speced by Nintendo´s handheld! But ok, Wii is kind of old now.
Re: Gawp at these First Ever Screenshots of Sonic the Hedgehog

Re: Hudson Announces E3 Lineup
Come on! Faxanadu 2!
Re: Accio! Two Games Conjured from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Movies
Judging from videofotage this game looks decent if you´re into Harry Potter. Still, it´s a licencegame that will probably not surprise you.
Re: DSi XL Brightens Up with Three New Colours
But really, with a new handheld being released this winter, do we care about the XL?

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2010
Cool, I didn´t know about Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu! Looks like fewer characters than in Dynamite, but at least it seems to have some kind of storymode.
Re: Epic Mickey May Get a New Lick of Paint at E3
Unexpected, but interesting turn of events. I thought the "new" look was pretty bland, so sure, give it another shot!
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2010 (North America)

Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2010 (North America)
Wild Guns is pretty good. Great bosses and a good co-op mode. A bit short, but makes up for it by being hard.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2010
He he, I recently got the Saturn version of Fighters History Dynamite. It´s very average but it´s amusing to play a true SFII-clone. Pretty hard too.
I´ve heared Wind Jammers is popular, so why not... Neo Geo support is a good thing. Whith or without 60hz I guess...
Re: New Zelda Aims for Easier Controls, Big Surprises
Yes the Wii controls for Twilight Princess are terrible.

Re: Are You One Of The 7500 Who Signed Their Souls Away To Gamestation?
Incredible! And actually pretty good promotion for Gamestation
Re: Mistwalker in Final Stages of Development With Last Story
At least the artdirection is very promising, I like the traditional characterdesign. Nice music too.
Re: Mega Man 10 DLC Round-up Part One
Wow, gameboy-level remakes! That´s cool!
