Re: Editorial: Nintendo is a Toy Company, and That Will Be Vital in a New Era

@Donutman I don't play my XB 360 to be cool. I spent seven years with it because it was fun for my friends and myself. We didn't spend the majority of last gen playing COD and AC. It was older lower budget games that stole our time. Arcade titles like Xmen, Simpson's, TMNT, MVC2, SF3 and Final Fight. 360 also has a decent list of indie titles. Castle crashers and heavy weapon are two of my favorites.

@iflywright I agree with most of what you said. Gaming pc's are becoming increasingly more affordable. Why would someone pay about the same amount for a console that has inferior capabilities? It makes sense.

I don't see how Nintendo wouldn't be affected as well as MS and Sony. Nintendo doesn't have the following they once did. The Nintendo name alone was not enough to sell the Wii U. The company still has its loyal fan base but I don't think that's enough. Core gamers and children are not biting on the brand. I hope the NX can change that.

@PlywoodStick True. It shouldn't matter. I don't know anyone here. After a few years of reading the NL comment section I gained new perspectives. I've learned a lot about my favorite hobby and even come to respect many users on this site. Always felt the Nintendo fan base was more open minded than the others.

Then I see post's like Ken's saying games on ps4&x1 are rage inducing and not fun. It's as if he never gave either console a chance and states his opinion as fact.

I guess I take it a bit personal sometimes. Probably need to work on that.

I originally got into XB because that's what all my friends game on. I enjoyed seven years of xbl with people I grew up with. we spent most of our time playing older games like SF3, mvc2, quake 3 and castle crashers. AAA games always seemed to take a back seat to classic's with added online play.

Just because you don't think said systems are worth your time and money doesn't mean others think the same way.

How many people dismissed the Wii u as a waste of time because it's a Nintendo product?

@kensredemption You're biased opinion is really getting old.

We get it! Nintendo is good and any other console manufacturing company is garbage. MS&Sony will never reach the level of God like perfection that is Nintendo. I can't think of one enjoyable title on any PS or MS platform. Nothing but FPS games that are brown&grey with no creativity or soul.

@Volke93 I've seen more remastered games on Xb1 and Ps4 than FPS titles. If the price is right (Resident Evil) then I don't mind them.

I've got about 25 games on my XB1 and only two of them are shooters.MCC and Titanfall. I've been playing games like Withcher3, Arkham Knight,The Evil Within, MGS v, and Forza Horizon 2. I'd say I've got plenty to play besides FPS titles on the X1.

@andrew20 I'm positive there's a reason for the lack of 3ds vc. The retail front has been quiet as well. The Wii U has Yoshi,X,Zelda, and Star Fox on the way, but it seems like that's it for the console.

Nintendo is hard at work getting the next console and handheld ready for release. There is no other explanation for why 3ds is getting next to nothing and Wii U is getting its last batch of games.

Re: Rumours and Speculation Stir Over Potential Involvement of Nintendo with Apple TV

@FragRed I'm not so sure how much longer handheld gaming will remain Nintendo's bread&butter. Handheld gaming isn't what it used to be for obvious reason's. 3ds will probably never reach the install base that the DS had. With smartphone/ tablet gaming continuing to pull in younger gamers, all that's left is the generations of older gamers that grew up playing the GB,GG,GBA, and the DS. It's a shrinking market for dedicated handheld systems. I wouldn't be surprised if nintendo's next handheld is their last. It pains me to think that though.
