@SavoirFaire believe it or not, not all of these "negative comments" are anti Nintendo xb&ps fans hoping for the company to buy the farm. Some of us fans are concerned with the direction this company is going in, and I'd rather see Nintendo succeed then fail yet again.
Some purchace a system based on what their friends have. I spend more time online with friends on x-box. If they where into pc i'd go with that option. I get good times out of wiiu&ps3, but sometimes I need a break from gaming with strangers or myself.
@Gooberfish I agree that ms&sony releasing unfinished games for the sake of sales is bull(mcc).Ive lost much faith in the industry as a whole with such terrible business practices, but Nintendo is not without its own faults. All they have left are dedicated Nintendo fans like us. The casuals/children went to tablets and smartphones. The more dedicated gamers are going the ps&xb and pc route.Third party support is all but gone.Nintendo put themselves in this situation.I respect the company for doing its own thing, but if the only audience left are the Nintendo faithful, something is very wrong. With a heavy hitter like Zelda being delayed some additional software would be welcome to fill the void.
@HylianSane I'm sure NOA has a perfectly good explanation for not releasing zero mission. Maybe it's some corporate suit throwing dart's blindfolded at the 2015 vc release schedule.
@TeeJay Try the 3d classics. Afterburner or Outrun are good. The Dk land games lack some of the graphical omph that the snes games have, but are excellent games none the less.
@xj220_afiles I really wonder why Jp get's all that extra vc love? I'd like ff VI or any square game on a Nintendo system. It would be nice to get games like zero mission or sonic advance and not have to wait six months to a year for them to arrive. I'd like to have the larger vc library that jp has. Are we just a second priority?
@Zombie_Barioth Gaming isn't a cheap hobby that's for sure. I can understand that a many live on tight budgets and having one extra bill is not welcome. We are talking about a fifty dollar a year fee.The reason behind it is bull but at least I'm getting something out of it.I probably purchace six games a year across multiple platforms (excluding digital games), so fifty bucks a year for xbl won't hurt my budget any worse than it already is.Hell,I pay fourty bucks a month for car insurance. The 360 doesnt have the same issue as the one. If my gold account expires my games are still there. I have several classic console&arcade games that mean as much to me as any current game. Getting together with friends for a match of quake 3 or marvelvscapcom2 is still a blast for us. I'd say I'm getting my money's worth from the service.
@JaxonH My live account has expired many times and I am still able to play my games on 360 without my account being active.I guess we all have a different opinion on what can be considered a great value. between ms,Sony, and Nintendo I pretty much own every classic console/arcade game I ever owned or played as a kid. I won't put a price on having all that under my tv.
@JaxonH Why do people still make a big deal over 50 bucks a year for xbl&psn? I'd say I've got at least seventy games between my 360 and PS3 that apparently I'm renting and don't own. Does this mean Im only renting the vc games I own on wiiu&3ds. And if 50 dollars a year gets me arcade classics like x-men,final fight,Simpsons, and games like nights and sonic cd all while I'm chating with my friends, I'd say it's money well spent.
@hydeks I really think the game pad was meant to emulate the 3ds experience. Games like Zelda work really well with a touch screen handling inventory. I don't really think it worked as well on the wii u and it certainly didn't attract any new people outside the fan base. With the ds I can see what's going on with both screens at the same time as opposed to glancing from one screen to another. Say what you will about sony&ms controllers, but if it ain't broke don't fix it.
@Nintendobro The "others approach" is why Sony is beating out x-box this gen. The PS3 got off to a slow start but Sony learned from their mistakes and produced a console that matched its rival with a quality online service. The consumer really benefits when services are improved because these companies are competing for your cash.I remember when Xbox deals where pretty lame until sony was giving away way better games on its ps plus service. I'm not saying this method would be sure fire for Nintendo as you mentioned the game cube, but it's not like xbl and psn haven't been great services over the last decade.
@Ootfan98 Nintendo's first party games with a decent online structure is a bad thing? Who wants party chat options and monthly deals and discounts. I certainly thought tomb raider remaster was a waste at thirteen bucks. Yeah, copying ms&sony would be the worst idea ever.
@IceClimbers You make a darn good point. Out of all my friends I'm the only one that still own's current Nintendo hardware. When the wii released most everyone I know jumped ship.Their explanations always went back to third party support and lack of party chat. If they couldn't get games like final fantasy, elder scrolls, cod or Mortal kombat&street fighter they just didn't care.
@andrew20 Right? What happened to square support after the ds? I own several ff remakes on my phone and have yet to see any new or old square enix titles on Nintendo platforms.
I'll snag Klonoa. It seems supporting vc on 3ds&wiiu might be stretching noa vc department resources?Dk and outrun where great, but does this mean where back to the normal swing of things?
Outrun for me! I'm still good on vc games since the Dkc&land blow out sale. If Nintendo could do releases like that once a month, I'd be one happy gamer.
@EvisceratorX I'd rather have unreleased gba games rather than purchasing dkc, super ghosts'n Gouls, or smw a second time on the same system. Not trying to be a downer but what's the point?
If sony took their time playing catch up to Microsoft's online infrastructure they wouldn't be where they are now. I really hope nintendo's next console will at least support party chat.
Another game I already own on wiiu vc. why would anyone double dip on this? Hey, capcom&nintendo! Can we stop with the gba advance ports of snes games already on the eshope?
Personaly, I'm happy with my new xl. Smaller screens and face plates don't entice me at all. I'm sure the smaller unit will reach na at some point, so I'm sure many of you with older 3ds units that don't want the new xl just need to wait it out. Speak with your wallets.
@mrGREEK360 This makes me think back to sega's glory days. Sega of America had a decent amount of control over their division. Didn't seem like a bad business plan to me.
@Game-Over capcom pulled origins from xbl and psn. I don't think we'll ever see that or mvc2 again. Arcade ports of the alpha series is a possibility. I'd like to see nights into dreams and powerstone 1&2 hit the e-shope at some point.
@Game-Over right? I'd buy the arcade version of final fight over the snes port.I think licensing issues exists between capcom and marvel, so I doubt we'll ever see the vs series on wiiu.

This is news I didn't want to hear. I know the game will be amazing, but I can't help but feel this is a missed opportunity come holiday season.
