Re: Nintendo Download: 4th June (North America)

I see. That explains a few of my issues. I'm greatful that Capcom,Sega, and Namco have helped the VC service, but it would seem Nintendo is going to have to try harder to win back third party support.

Wii&DS vc really spoiled us. I guess that's why WiiU&3ds vc has been a underwhelming service in comparison.

The one thing I really want to get a better understanding on is the NOJ vs everywhere else situation. I would be nice to get Sonic Advance or anything Square Enix on the service. Not to mention the other games that have yet to release in NA or EU.

@Zach777 The e-shope is incredibly lame compared to the stores on xbl or PSN. I believe that is why many complain. There is less sales on Nintendo's service. There is less options on nintendo's service. With my 360&ps3, I've got a decent collection of arcade and Dreamcast games. The Wii u looks like it will only receive roms from Nintemdo system's. NOA pick's some of the worst games ( mighty bomb jack) ,and ignore fan's requests for games like DKC or Metriod. That shows me the folks over at NOA are probably more business men than someone who is a actual gamer with a degree. The drip feed of content has also gotten old. I've been dealing with it since the e-shope was up and running. Nintendo has a massive amount of improvement to do on their e-shope service.

@FLUX_CAPACITOR I certainly agree with your comment. Could this explain the poor Square Enix Virtual Console support in NA? The relationship with the big N and square has been pretty crappy since the N64. FF7 going to playstation certainly didn't do Nintendo any favors.
The gaming industry never ceases to amaze me. I never thought I'd see the day where SE would be working more closely with MS than the grandfather of gaming.

@Quorthon Makes sense. Reggie is a corporate mouth peace for the most part. I just can't believe how horrible customer support has been for me at NOA . I've sent my n3ds in several times for repair, and NOA keeps saying they fixed my problem and yet the factory defect is still present in the unit. The unit is under warranty for another eight months and after my last phone call I have a NOA manager saying they might not be able to fix the problem. He pretty much wanted me to stop calling after the (final) repair. Its like they dont have a good understanding of the hardware they're selling and don't care to stand behind their product.

@Kaze_Memaryu My friends and myself find voice chat very useful in titanfall. I don't just assume all my friends are going to drop their Titans five minutes into the match. We communicate with each other to coordinate the best possible time to gain the upper hand on the opposing team. Its also nice to know where a enemy is located after my teammate has been taken out. If we where just blindly running into battle we would be loosing more than winning.

Re: Talking Point: Is Konami About To Exit The Console Game Business?

A person is not a fanboy for stating obvious facts. 3rd party games have not sold well on Wiiu. If black ops 2 sold well, then we would be seeing more COD games. wiiu has the same install base as the xb1,so we can't say Nintendo doesn't have enough wiiu users to sell games. Nearly every 3rd party studio has walked away from nintendo's home console because the games are not selling well enough to justify the cost of porting them. With software development of the 360&ps3 slowing down there would be even less of those ports available for wiiu if 3rd parties had a reason to stick around.
I'm a Nintendo fan through and through man. If I could get most of the games that Xb and ps have my Nintendo systems would get more use than any other console. I haven't had that since the gamecube. All of my friends left Nintendo after the wii.Its all xb and ps now. I work with parents who grew up gaming, and their kids are growing up playing skylanders and Disney infinity games on xb&ps. Nintendo is losing relevance in today's gaming market. Part of this is due to the out of touch leadership of Nintendo of Japan. The other problem is third party games have not sold well on the system.

Re: Talking Point: Is Konami About To Exit The Console Game Business?

@bitleman If Konami "betrayed" Nintendo, then I guess that means the rest of the 3rd party studios that make up the industry are guilty of that as well. konami is just doing what everyone else in the industry is doing. When the wiiu launched it has several 3rd party games from the likes Activision& Ubisoft. So, what happened? What software publisher/developer would want to spend the money and effort to port a game to a system that may or may not sell well? It might have helped if the wiiu was up to the standards of the xb1&ps4, so games like the Witcther 3 would be possible to port, but if nobody buys the game then what is the point.
Nintendo wants to do things their own way, and if no one jumps on board, then that's their loss. That's how I percieve their way of thinking. Its as if they believe they are still the dominant force in gaming that they where in the 80's& 90's.

@mjc0961 Yeah, ps+ Is such a horrible service. Paying 50 dollars a year is such a outlandish fee, who would ever get behind that business model?
I remember when anyone even mentioned Nintendo getting into the mobile market, and the diehard fans thought it was the worst idea ever. It's happening now and no one is complaining about it one bit.
If Nintendo ever went the subscription route with its online services I'm sure everyone would go along with that decision because it's Nintendo. I certainly would be more than happy to pay a yearly fee to have a up to date online infrastructure instead of what we have now. Don't you think Nintendo could put that money to good use?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Legacy Makes The Virtual Console Essential, But It Must Modernise

@Neko_Rukiafan I think articles like this one are a good thing. NL is taking the time to get some insight about how fans feel about the service and changes that could improve virtual console,as it's obvious that many feel the service is lacking. It's not like nintendo has made any effort to improve the service, and the fact they don't feel the need to even explain why the vc system is set up the way it is makes me believe customer/fan feedback means as little to them as the vc service itself.

psn and Xbox live and steam didn't become the great services that they are over night. It took years to get these services to where they are now through listening to the fan base and good relations with third party studios.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Legacy Makes The Virtual Console Essential, But It Must Modernise

@BLPs If your happy with 1st party titles then your covered. ps3&360 have released more Saturn, dreamcast, and arcade titles than nintendo.Sure, nintendo has a impressive back catalogue, but wiiu is missing several awesome games like Samurai Showdown 2 that have been on said consoles for nearly a decade. It's Nintendo that limits the virtual console, not the otherway around.
