@VR32F1END @Zach @mikegamer @faint Yeah, I was in a really bad mood last night and that was kinda tactless. I stand by what I said, but this obviously isn't the place for it. Apologies.
@TomKnows Honestly, I think that he overshot a bit if he was going for anti-hero. It makes me genuinely uncomfortable to listen to the man talk in interviews. And can you imagine if he did sue me over trash talking him in the comments on this site? I'd get a featured article interview on here for sure.
I love how the article goes to great lengths to point out that the majority of heavy lifting on these will be done by outside studios, yet most of the comments will somehow completely miss that point. I say, bring them on. It's going to be a slow year for Wii U so I'd totally take a slick remaster of Mario Sunshine for summer or Luigi's Mansion HD around Halloween.
@FabioSMASH I'm starting to feel that this might be true. I think the only reason that Reggie still has a job right now is because he agreed to go out and point-blank lie about the future of Zelda U during that last Direct by repeatedly saying that it's still inbound for the current hardware.
I need confirmation that #FE is getting localized, first and foremost. That's the only retail Wii U game that I really, really need. Hive Jump, Kerbal Space Program, and some other eShop games will fill out the year for me there. I'll get Star Fox if the reviews are great. I'd like some weird Unity games on New 3DS, in addition to whatever sort of portable Splatoon that they pretty much have to be working on. Atlus sales and Hyrule Warriors Lite will eat up a lot of time on the portable as well. I'd also REALLY like to hear about NX sooner rather than later. If I don't even know what it is before E3, I will have completely lost my mind.
I managed to get in a preorder for the amiibo last night when it was briefly up on amazon. Here's hoping they don't flub the orders somehow because that co-op mode looks insane.
Let's all draft an apology letter to NoA in order to make amends for our angry reactions to the last E3 presentation. That's the only way that we're ever gonna get back on track, here.
The big Wii U games that I wanted (Kirby, Splatoon, Yoshi, XCX) have all fallen at the right times and many of the Wii U's indie offerings have been to my liking, so I've been good there. Plenty to play on the TV for me this year. Majora's Mask was the only retail 3DS game that I've bought this year, but there have been tons of indies there as well. However, the real boon to my New 3DS' play time was that I finally got into both the SMT and Etrian series this year. So, in a way, it was really Atlus that kept me from buying a Vita at any point in 2015. Regardless, my 3DS gaming has also been plentiful and very fulfilling this year.
Getting a skell and flight module was one of the most freeing and generally amazing moments I've ever had in a video game. Although I do kinda miss the early game when it was still basically Extreme Parkour Simulator 2015.
Great read. These guys deserve all of the success in the world for the amount of heart that they put into that damned game. My niece and I play the game almost daily and I'd say it is probably her favorite game ever. I do often worry that maybe it didn't get the sales that it deserved because the online has really fallen off and I can rarely get a match anymore. Which sucks, because the random online matches were some of the most crazy and manic fun that I've ever had with a video game. I'm a also VERY interested in whatever the incoming Runbow content is. I'll gladly pay for it, if they're selling, because I certainly have gotten way more than my money's worth from the core game.
This is joining Hollow Knight and Timespinner at the top of my list of upcoming indies. @sketchturner My thoughts exactly. I need somebody to point me towards this supposed deluge of quality metroidvania games, because I certainly haven't been playing that many.
It is a very small (haha) issue for me. Like, I didn't think about it all until it was brought up here. But now that you mention it, I can see (haha) the issue. I'm totally okay with the in-the-field UI but there are some times when the small text is just completely unnecessary. When looking at the quest board, for instance, the screen does not need to remain uncluttered at that moment so the tiny text just seems like an oversight more than a design choice.
I voted Dark Witch 2 but will most likely also get Temple Of Yog. I'm also hoping that there is more to the Circle sales than just what is listed there.
I was hoping they'd do the same deal with the Wii U version as the 3DS. As in, release it on the eShop when it's done and then make a box later on for collectors. Honestly, I wish every game would do that. If I can't have a price break on digital games then I'd at least like to just get it when it is finished instead of waiting for some factory to manufacture a disk (or cartridge, as it were). Too much to ask?
There are maybe a dozen people who bought an Xbone for this game alone so I can't see that a port would be a bad idea for MS/Rare. The X360 remasters would obviously not make the jump, but I feel that this collection would sell very well on Wii U.
That said, having this on Wii U at a reasonable price would completely shatter the presumed value of and pricing model for Nintendo's own VC games. So, yeah. Not gonna happen.
It is often said among very tough men that the hardest thing you could ever be asked to do is to fight while naked. If you could keep your nerve in that situation then you're basically good to go. I'm not entirely sure that this ALBW-style Link is that steely, tbh.
Everybody who is so cooled off on this would be pissing themselves in anticipation if it were just called Persona U. This game looks amazing and you should all just accept the fact that you are not getting a Fire Emblem game on Wii U.
They pumped out 2 remasters of games that were not too popular in the first place instead of focusing on the brand new game that everyone seemed genuinely excited for, Treasurenauts. As for Xeodrifter, that game was fantastic, scratched a Metroid itch for a lot of people and was heavily featured on the eShop so I have no clue how it didn't sell. Also, buy Bomb Monkey if you don't have it.
These guys are the best. Was going to hold off on this until I inevitably receive eShop credit for xmas, but that letter pushed me over. Will be downloading at 12:01 pm and I cannot wait.
I also have a theory that even though there is no sort of timeline to the Kirby games that this would have to be the very last one, chronologically. Between the twisted versions of the classic Kirby tunes and the antiquated looking footage of old Kirby dances that play on the top screen during mini-games, this feels like it takes place in a post-apocalyptic Dream Land.
For me, this is the best Kirby spin-off game. The art is beautiful, the music is beautiful. The gameplay is actually fairly taxing until you get the hang of it, which is a rarity in a series that is usually known for ease of play. I loved every second of this game when it was new and I've gone back and played it to completion at least a half dozen times. An easy 8 for me and I REALLY hope that we get this and Mass Attack on VC in North America soon. I'd rather have those two than the DS Zelda games, honestly.
Why would they hang their tag in the middle of his chest like that? It looks dreadful. And I'm pretty sure that the build-a-bear Pikachu is like $30 so I'll be going that route whenever he launches there.
If Atlus is going to cozy up to the Wii U eShop, can we please get a downloadable version of SMT Strange Journey? Or some of the original Etrian games? We could be drawing maps on the gamepad, people.
@JHardin1112 I kid, of course. I live in the south as well, but I have a mental image of being eaten by an alligator as soon as I crossed the Florida state line.
I made the mistake of starting this game last year just a couple of days before Hyrule Warriors dropped. As a consequence, I only played the first 5 or 6 hours of the game before getting swept up in HW. I did enjoy what I played and this review has made me really want to go back to it.
@andreoni79 If their previous releases are anything to go on, file size will be comically small somehow. No idea how they crammed that much visual goodness into Nano Assault Neo with such a tiny digital footprint.

Some people received a Wii U for christmas only to fire up the eShop and see this sitting near the top of the 'new releases'.

@Blastcorp64 He certainly Loves This Land, all right. Just too bad about him being an insufferable jackass.

@Zelda_Rocks Blasphemy. That header image has gotten me through some dark times.
Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2016
I voted 'game not on list' because I'm hedging my bets on Etrian Odyssey V. Both on it releasing this year and on it being a 3DS game.

@StraTTtheRipper It does and it is very substantial for a party-type game.

Yeesh. Not exactly going out on a high note here, NoA. I'll check the Circle discounts, but I seem have most of their games already.
