Since Super Mario All-Stars was my first Mario game, I'm obviously a bit biased... However, with Super Mario Bros. (and Lost Levels, if I want to torture myself), I'd pick the original NES versions. Otherwise, with Mario 2 and 3, I'd go with the All-Stars versions.
Setting aside the obvious lead here (Metroid Dread), I'd like to shout out Everhood for being one of those once-in-a-lifetime "you just have to experience it for yourself" kind of games... Also, Deltarune Chapter 2.
I hate that the first thing I thought of when I saw this title was how during an episode of Game Grumps, Arin dismissed Ocarina of Time's time travel mechanic of being new because he apparently thought you were traveling through time in A Link to the Past, since, in his own words, "that's why it's called 'A Link to the Past'".
Remarkable that despite liking that game and playing it a lot, he somehow completely missed that the Dark World is a completely separate place (also A Link to the Past was just the English name, the original Japanese name doesn't mention time at all; it was ゼルダの伝説 神々のトライフォース The Legend of Zelda: Triforce of the Gods).
I got all the Mii Fighter costumes, but the thing with me is, I use MyNintendo Gold Points to get most of them, I only spend actual money on the ones I really like/want, like the Sans or Cuphead costumes.
I didn't even want Sora for Smash, and yet... I just felt really happy watching the trailer and presentation. It just feels right that Sora's the final character, you know?
Chris Pratt has now joined Harris Shore, Larry Moran, Peter Cullen, Tōru Furuya, Captain Lou Albano, Walker Boone, John Lenahan, Ronald B. Ruben, Takeshi Aono, Bob Hoskins, Marc Graue, Nicholas Glaeser, Gorō Inagaki, Takashi Okamura, Kazunari Ninomiya, and of course, the one and only Charles Martinet as one of the many, many, MANY people who have portrayed Mario over the years.
It makes sense that they'd highly Teen Titans Go! because that's their biggest and most relevant success, but it's worth noting the credits for at least one of the TTG showrunners, Michael Jelenic, who was a writer/storyboard artist for Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman, and was also also co-showrunner/co-developer of the 2011 ThunderCats reboot. He also co-developed Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as moved based on that property in addition to bring a writer/producer for the animated movies based on the Batman 1960's Adam West TV series (noticing a lot of Batman in this guy's filmography...). Heck, even when you take Aaron Horvath into account, Teen Titans Go! To The Movies was actually surprisingly fun, so it's not like this duo is incapable of making a good, enjoyable produce together.
...Maybe I'm giving too much benefit of the doubt here, especially given that it's still Illumination, the studio that makes the Minions movies and tends to only make "okay at best" movies, there is a LOT going against this movie, even with Shigeru Miyamoto directing producing and overseeing things. I still say we should wait until we actually see what it looks like before assuming the worst, but then again, maybe I'm just being overly optimistic here.
It truly is "my" console, in that I connect with it more than any other console. I love the games, the graphics, the soundfont... It makes me happy no matter what (most of the time, anyway).
Not to be pedantic about this kind of thing, but "Sablé" pronounced "sab-lay", and also, this wasn't specified in the video so I don't know if Jon was aware of this or not, but "Prince Sablé" isn't his name, he's the prince of the Sablé Kingdom. He technically doesn't have a name, since you name him in the game. Just FYI.
Regardless of any of that, though, This game is magical, I don't think any Nintendo game has truly captured how uniquely fun and light-hearted it is. It really is in well-need of a remake, just so Nintendo has the excuse to finally release it outside of Japan.
Actor and comedian Sebastian Maniscalco will be playing Foreman Spike, HELL YEAH! Probably my favorite obscure Mario character (usually Wart and even Tatanga get more love in comparison). Of course, he didn't explicitly say "Foreman Spike", he just said "Spike, their [the Mario brothers] boss", which honestly fits Foreman Spike's description better than any other "Spike" in the Mario franchise. Either way, I hope that in the movie proper, he's portrayed with a beard like in the first Wrecking Crew and Mobile Golf, as opposed to Wrecking Crew '98, where he just looks like a buff Waluigi.
This is sad, I actually really enjoyed this game. I've unfortunately fallen behind on it because I've been playing a whole bunch of other mobile games and there just wasn't enough time in a given day to get to all of them, this game being the one I put on the backburner. Kind of a shame, I feel like I was one of the few people who legit enjoyed it and kept playing.
Absolutely, for pretty much the same reason I'd rewatch movies or TV shows... It's weird that I had to explain this concept to a friend of mine who couldn't understand why you would want to play the same game again. Then again, given my backlog of games I've been meaning to get to, replaying ones I like have decreased over the years.
"Wrapping up Sakurai's Famitsu Column #629 with @KodyNOKOLO. Sakurai does not give a definitive time when he will finish his Famitsu Column series, nor does he announce his retirement. He will not be quitting game-related work after Super Smash Bros. Ultimate."
Game & Watch Gallery 2 & 3, Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokemon, Gold, Silver, and Crystal, Link's Awakening DX, the Legend of Zelda Oracles games, and of course, Wario Land 2 & 3.
Square Enix is planning to remake Super Mario RPG, and Nintendo is planning to release EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings as part of an EarthBound Collection, complete with MOTHER 3!
It's so cool to see Chargin' Chuck finally playable in a game, I always loved that particular enemy! King Bob-omb is also quite nice, and it's great to see Pauline is continuing to be a new staple of these kinds of rosters.
Weird that there's no Diddy Kong or Birdo, though...
While I didn't hate the sketch, this was a surreal watch. But the fact that they used Wario's Battle Canyon and Wario's Castle from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins made me think they actually knew more than they let on...
Well, I always felt this was sorely needed by Nintendo for a while... But then again, they're saying "staple series" will continue, so I presume there will continue to be more Mario, Zelda, etc. alongside new stuff. That said, Nintendo already has a lot of interesting ideas in the form of dormant IP they haven't touched in years. They could afford to revisit those kinds of games as well, I feel.
You know what? Even if he doesn't end up in the Mario movie, I'd be fine with it. I love Charlies Martinet as Mario, but I don't think that specific voice would work for an entire movie (without it getting really grating after a while). Besides, it's not like ht was the ONLY voice Mario ever had.
In fact, I know this won't happen, but I REALLY want them to get Walker Boone, the voice of Mario in The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 and the Super Mario World cartoon, to reprise the role, THAT would be a nice bit of fanservice!
1.) Rhythm Heaven Fever 2.) Punch-Out!! 3.) Wario Land: Shake It! 4.) Super Smash Bros. Brawl 5.) Super Mario Galaxy 6.) Donkey Kong Country Returns 7.) Super Paper Mario 8.) The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 9.) New Super Mario Bros. Wii 10.) Kirby's Return to Dream Land
Honorable Mentions: -Captain Rainbow -Mario Kart Wii -Kirby's Epic Yarn -Mario Strikers Charged -Muramasa: The Demon Blade -No More Heroes -WarioWare: Smooth Moves -Xenoblade Chronicles
Well, that's a shame. To be honest, I thought the gameplay and animations, even so close to it's release, looked a bit shoddy, but I didn't think it would be that bad.
For Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, I'd stick with the originals. But my preference will always be the All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3. I guess it might be because I grew up with this game and no the original NES, but then again, I never did like how the airship level music is out-of-sync compared to what it's supposed to sound like.
NES -Bubble Bobble -Bomberman -BurgerTime -Contra -EarthBound Beginnings -Final Fantasy -Karnov -Mach Rider -The Mysterious Murasame Castle -Ninja Gaiden -Super C -Urban Champion -Yoshi's Cookie -Zoda's Revenger: StarTropics II
SNES -ActRaiser -Chrono Trigger -Congo's Caper -Contra III: The Alien Wars -Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest -Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble -EarthBound -Final Fantasy II (actually Final Fantasy IV) -Final Fantasy III (actually Final Fantasy VI) -Illusion of Gaia -Joe & Mac (have the second one, why not the first?) -The Legend of the Mystical Ninja -Sparkster -Super Mario All-Stars -Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars -Terranigma -Zombies Ate My Neighbors
Very impressed, I liked a lot of the games showed off, to the point where I wonder how I'm going to play them all. The games that interested me the most were Raji, Spiritfarer, A Short Hike, Evergate, and Garden Story.
Nintendo Directs are a good way to satisfy a lot of people, so long as you have one announcement that pleases a certain niche of people, everyone will end up having a good time.
Actually, I always wanted to do this thing were I show people Smash Bros. characters and see if they recognize who they are. I think it'd be a fun activity.
Technically, Shy Guys first appeared in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic (which means Dream Factory: Heart-Pounding Panic), which became the basis for Super Mario Bros. 2, called Super Mario USA in Japan.
Other than that, the only one I didn't get right was Sonic, I didn't realize he first appeared as a cameo in Rad Mobile before his first game.

Re: Poll: Do You Want To See 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2'?
I want a sequel that actually has unique bosses and not just Bowser Jr. over and over again.
Also more playable characters.
Re: Poll: Super Mario All-Stars Is 30 Years Old - Do You Prefer The NES Or SNES Versions Of The Classics?
Since Super Mario All-Stars was my first Mario game, I'm obviously a bit biased... However, with Super Mario Bros. (and Lost Levels, if I want to torture myself), I'd pick the original NES versions. Otherwise, with Mario 2 and 3, I'd go with the All-Stars versions.
Re: Poll: What Score Would You Give To The Super Mario Bros. Movie?
I'd give it an 8, but the Mario fan in me wants to give it a 10!

Re: Feature: Someone Did An AGDQ Speedrun Of Legendarily Awful CD-i Game, Zelda's Adventure. Why?!
It seems the only people who play this game anymore are speedrunners.
Re: Random: Circus Pilgrims Played Megalovania To The Pope And Revived A 6-Year-Old Undertale Meme
