Re: Switch Rating For Borderlands 3: Director's Cut Was Apparently An "Error"

Sentinator

The thing is people only think the job listing ties to Borderlands 3 just because they made the others but 8 years ago there was a CV found by a Stright Right employee who were porting a Square Enix game to Wii U.

Everybody thought it could (and arguably should) have been Tomb Raider but what did it turn out to be? Deus Ex. Unreal Engine is used throughout tonnes of games and the job listing could lead anywhere.

Re: Japanese Charts: Pikmin 3 Stays Top, Pokémon Sword And Shield Expansion Pass Makes Top Five

Sentinator

@rockodoodle
I can agree with the second screen. Captain Toad itself is iffy to play on the TV because the touch control replacements often make things awkward but overall most of the ports have been better on Switch. It will just never replicate the Wii U.

Most games like Pikmin 3, Mario U/3D World, HD Zeldas etc sold well and made profits on Wii U anyway. It is just most seem to sell better on Switch so they make even more profits. Nintendo Land and Star Fox Zero would never translate well to Switch. Woolly World had the co-op and free roaming map removed on 3DS so that would be ideal to bring over on Switch.

Despite it flopping it was a truly unique console (far superior to the Wii) and there will probably be nothing like it. If Wii U owners were "beta testing" some games for Switch there are several cases where the betas far surpassed the other versions.

@rockodoodle
1. Not all Wii U games will come to Switch
2. Wonderful 101 is one instance where the Wii U original version is superior to the Switch due to simple touch controls becoming QTEs and shoddy second screen implementation.
3. Woolly World is still better on Wii U then 3DS.

You Wii U naysayers can cry foul but no matter what you convince yourselves of Wii U will always have games the other systems cannot touch. Sure those two games might have jumped to other systems but they are inferior products and the best way to play them (I argue the only way) is on the Wii U and not anywhere else.

But you probably did not play those two on Wii U or you would know the Wii U versions are factually far superior.

Re: Video: The Switch Is A Wii U Port Machine, And That's A Good Thing

Sentinator

In some cases I think Wii U works better. People will no doubt disagree with me but the Miiverse was awesome and nothing can replace the junk people threw on there, to see what I am talking about see "Miiverse gone wrong" on YouTube. I miss the funny loading noises and the update music.

Both are radically different systems with different purposes in mind. Playing Wonderful 101 on Wii U is still better to me because I do not like how they have handled the port. On Switch you get the better media storage, faster load times and portability but the regular Switch just seems so.......... alien.

The thing people never really draw attention to is playing these games on Wii U is still a very different feeling to playing them on Switch. Switch is just not what Wii U was and I accepted it and now keep my Lite sleeping beside me. They can bring all the Wii U games they want the systems are still completely different in feeling.

Re: Talking Point: Is EA's Switch Strategy Lazy, Or Simply Common Sense?

Sentinator

@sixrings Dude seriously stop trolling. No system gets every game. Switch has Neptunia, Steins Gate, Dragon Quest, Senran Kagura, Trials of Mana. Then it has later installments of Blazblue and Xbox One has none of those.

It even has DOAX3 which is a series which started on Xbox.

You pick a system to play and you get what you are given. If you sided with something which does not fully match the tastes you are into that is your own fault. But do not sit there and act like third party support is bad on Switch because you could not be more wrong.

Re: EA Is Bringing Seven Games To Nintendo Switch Over The Next 12 Months

Sentinator

This was legitmately some gobsmacking stuff. If anything proves the developers are not calling the shots and every single political, personal or technical 'problem' gets ignored when money comes on the table this is it.

The consumers sided with Switch and EA actually kept their word for once. It is the gamers, not the developers, who decide where the games go.

Re: EA Set To Launch "Multiple" Titles On Nintendo Switch In 2020

Sentinator

The only thing the majority of Switch owners will want from EA is the same thing everybody else has been asking them for. Remasters.
Unfortunately, EA only specialise in monetising the poor uninformed casuals with loot boxes. I wonder how many times EA can:

1. try and force the market to do their bidding
2. misread the market and how gamers play games
3. keep closing developers

before they start to feel the sting that their toxic corporate practices and greed is causing them.

Re: EA Has More Planned For The Switch, But Is Still Conscious Of First-Party Dominance

Sentinator

"We insulted a corporation, a system and an entire fanbase because we actually expected out half assed ports to sell on Wii U and we thought Nintendo had lost all their relevance because Wii U flopped".

The truth is they were to blame for their failures as a whole and they never want to admit it. Putting games on Switch would require them proving to Switch owners their games are worth the time and money so they can only blame themselves if they fail on here.

Their employees gloated above everybody and ran before they could walk and its come to bite them in the backside.

Re: Switch Owners Choose To Play EA Games On Other Platforms, Says Company CEO

Sentinator

Alex Ward left the company because they didn't press enough discs on Wii U. Developers have anonymously spoken about the trainwreck that is Frostbite. Its funny how the apologists come running in blaming Nintendo but how about EA made a trash engine which is difficult to scale? Developers are starting to hate EA in the same way gamers do.

Switch is selling perfectly fine without EA so it clearly doesn't need them. They are losing their control and as soon as loot boxes get wrecked their revenue will topple. They remind me of Sony in 2007 "the suckers will buy anything we put out! ANYTHING!"

Its depressing to know a freaking software publisher is actually more arrogant than the leader of the giant enemy crab.

Re: Rumour: Capcom Has Listed An Unnamed 'Action/Adventure' Game For E3 2018

Sentinator

@electrolite77 If a system doesn't pose a direct threat to your business you don't need to pay to lock it away. How many people own XBox in Japan? This wasn't a Switch scepticism thing because otherwise they would have at least localised it for 3DS.

You seem to be thinking the exact same thing as me (that this is MH related) and if Sony hadn't have paid anything it would have at least come to 3DS last year.

The World being on XBox thing has been the most frequent example but Microsoft paid to delay PS3 releases and not PC releases last time. They pay to threaten their biggest competitor when they deem something irrelevant.

Re: Rumour: Capcom Has Listed An Unnamed 'Action/Adventure' Game For E3 2018

Sentinator

@electrolite77 You know what I'm talking about. That exclusivity deal Sony made with Capcom to drop Monster Hunter from Nintendo. You know the deal that people claim doesn't exist even though World was pretty much marketed as a PS4 exclusive, had a PS4 exclusive bundle and branded with one of Sony's games for exclusive content but money didn't change hands they say.

Re: Nintendo Has No Plans For A Switch 2.0, Sources Claim

Sentinator

@The_Mysteron
A handheld Switch would just be out for a certain group. Granted it wouldn't take off like the default model but it would be ideal for those who want a cheaper alternative without the added HDMI, dock or plastic grippy thing.

I definitely think a clam shell model with the joysticks on the side would be most ideal for me but we'll see. This rumour doesn't say it will never happen. Just not for the foreseeable future. Assuming their sources aren't outright lying.

Re: Ubisoft Thinks The Next Console Cycle Isn't Far Away, So Where Does That Leave Switch?

Sentinator

@1UP_MARIO I misunderstood your comment. I interpreted it as Sony systems. Even so your comparison is flawed because you are referring to times when Sony had no viable competitor in the console market.

A lot of people keep saying they aren't scared of X but I don't believe them. The hype for 4K gaming is real and they aren't going to stand back and watch. During the PS1 and PS2 days they had reason to keep systems around but the thing is Microsoft is a genuine threat to them in the console market.

Re: Square Enix Explains Why The Secret Of Mana Remake Isn't Coming To Switch

Sentinator

I can see through their lies. Sony is moneyhatting because they are scared of Switch selling in Japan.

All this "oh yeah exclusives and Blu-Ray" PR. Accusing Nintendo of moneyhatting Monster Hunter. Accusing MS of moneyhatting everything but now you are the market leader you'll moneyhat all the COD DLC, JRPGs and marketing deals you can.

DARN HYPOCRITES!

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

Sentinator

@gatorboi352 Alex Ward still didn't like how EA and Nintendo treated the game. He even said that is why he left them on Twitter. He complained at the release date, price and the limited printing it got.

If EA weren't sabotaging the release why does he imply feud behind the scenes. In this case feel free to blame the fans.

With Wii U it wasn't those owners specifically. No group would be stupid enough to support the games that were obviously being sabotaged.

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

Sentinator

@gatorboi352 Dude literally EA's leader stood on the Switch stage and said "this is the best Fifa Nintendo fans have ever had". After the talk of the unprecedented partnership.......... shouldn't that have been the best Fifa?

Nintendo fans might be to blame in this case but don't pin the blame on us for what happened with EA on Wii U. Fifa 13, Mass Effect 3 and Need for Speed is ENTIRELY on them.
