Re: Random: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Hosts Amazing Game Of Deal Or No Deal

Saro

@Incarna there's a game show in America that involves contestants, who are selected from the on location audience, guessing about the prices of various products in different minigames like tic-tac-toe or blackjack with twists to them, to win money and prizes. Called "The Price is Right" and it's practically one of the longest running daytime game shows, as it's been going strong since the 1970's. Drew Carry eventually took over as host for the show since the original one retired.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Running A Special Max Raid Battle Event This Easter

Saro

@Rayquaza2510 It depends on things. Some raids are of fully evolved Pokemon with a item based evolution like Rhyperior, so these raids let's you catch them without using the item. Perfect for filling the dex without trading much.

BTW, the reward items for these new raids are Boiled Eggs for curry, the six power items (Power Weight, Lens, etc.) Destiny Knot, Everstone, and the Lucky Egg. All the baby Pokemon and Ditto yield these.

Re: Full EVO 2020 Line-Up Revealed, Smash Bros. Ultimate Will Represent Nintendo

Saro

@Snivy102 during Evo 2017 I heard there were demanding chants in the crowd of "Melee." repeatedly while Ultimate was going on. That's pretty rude, and gives Melee's fanbase a toxic appearance. If we have that kind of behavior, it's not a good idea to bring Melee back if that happens again.

And no offense, it's pretty much just Fox or Falco for competitive Melee. That's pretty quick to tire watching everyone using the same two characters.

Re: Pokémon Home Details Revealed: Free And Premium Plans, National Pokédex And More

Saro

Okay... $5 year for existing Bank subscription for the 3DS+ $16 Home Premium +$30 DLC x2 + $60 Pokemon games x 4 (LET'S GO and SwSh)+$20 NSO subscription = too much for a completionist who wants a complete National Dex for Gen 8... I didn't bother with the math but that is EASILY Over $300, not counting the cost of the systems. Not attacking, but this is very disappointing.

Edit: did the math for transferring from Bank to getting Home
Even with just one version of SwSh and skipping Let's Go. That is STILL over $100...

Re: Pokémon Clone Temtem Is So Successful Its Servers Are Crumbling Under Demand

Saro

@Reigestugatensho Can you create hybrid Pokemon like a Charmander-Bagon hybrid that is a unique species that aren't found in the wild? you fail to understand where I'm coming at here. I'm just talking to a rock at this point, so it's pointless to explain any further. I'd say play Temtem but you'd do some excuse like the price, it's an MMO, or stick to that naive belief that Temtem is a carbon copy.

Watch some let's plays.

Re: Pokémon Clone Temtem Is So Successful Its Servers Are Crumbling Under Demand

Saro

@Reigestugatensho Temtem actually has done things unique that Pokemon doesn't do. For example, they really have it where attacks can upgrade in various ways, like in priority if the partner is of a certain type, the two Temtem perform a special combo attack together that isn't one of their regular moves, buff each other if they can, evolve midbattle and have it where breeding can allow you to have true crossbreeding. Some of these things wouldn't be in a Pokemon game due to being too complex for children, the target demographic for Pokemon. Temtem was created with adults in mind, and has diversity enough to not be called a clone. It's got similarities that leads one to think it's a clone, but one shouldn't dismiss Temtem without looking at the fine details first.

Re: Pokémon Clone Temtem Is So Successful Its Servers Are Crumbling Under Demand

Saro

Pokemon NEEDS Temtem to succeed for them. Why? It'll help push Pokemon to improve. If I recall, Temtem only has 50% of the planned content for now, and people are saying it's already better than Sword and Shield.

From gameplay that is ACTUALLY challenging, to the flexibility of playing solo or with friends, I'm hoping this ends well for both, with Pokemon having a strong rival that pushes it to truely innovate while learning a few things from Temtem, while the new IP becomes the strong rival that is needed for healthy competition.

Re: Poll: What To Expect From The Pokémon Direct - Post Your Pokémon Predictions

Saro

Feel they're going to show off Home, which leads into mentioning about the 35 Non Galar Dex Pokemon allowed in, claiming you're allowed to bring in more than the Dex, even mentioning Gigantimax Melmetal. After that, officially revealing Detective Pikachu 2, and announcing a Switch port of the original. Finally, more info on Pokemon Sleep.

May not be in that order, but those feel like the likely announcements.

Re: Talking Point: Even Dexit Couldn't Derail The Pokémon Hype Train In 2019

Saro

Dexit killed my initial hype, but I accepted it and regained some excitement, untill the leaks destroyed what was there completely. I also feared Dynamaxing would be just as broken as Megas before for competitive, and I was right, considering Smogon's stance on it. The amount of Pokemon cut feels too steep, especially with how unpolished and barebones the games are. There's not really anything that really justifies all this, and if one thinks about it, the QoL changes for natures and breeding were practically done just so the Gigantimaxing Pokemon can become viable with breeding mechanics and Nature mints. Emphasis on a one Gen gimmick guaranteed to be gone in the next. On top of the lying and the fact the games crash randomly for people- Oh yeah, WHAT CAN WE DO IN POKEMON HOME BESIDES TRANSFERRING AND TRADING?! Anyone able to answer that in detail? I want to support Pokemon, but I won't support Game Freak anymore. I'm going to Digimon and Temtem.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Japan's Fastest-Selling Switch Game

Saro

@dacangri12 I'm going to Digimon, which embraced it's longtime fanbase by making their games darker. Play Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, and look up Digimon Survive, that is basically Digimon as a Fire Emblem game and it's said choices in cut scenes can potentially lead to character deaths.

Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Is Japan's Fastest-Selling Switch Game

Saro

I'm going to drop off the fanbase. At the rate of things, I just keep getting more and more disappointed that everyone didn't stick to their guns, and those who did became disgustingly toxic. I had hoped to hear news of changes in Game Freak's stance about possible Dex expansion through updates, or get new info regarding Home. Not saying that I wanted to have the whole Dex in the game, but I can't support a series that's now just becoming even more barebones each year, even if they're still fun. Yokai Watch and Digimon added some who were missing through updates.

I'm not going to rage, I'm not going to defend. I'm done...
