With that SD Card Glitch with the digital versions, it's actually scary to think that those guys may have been onto something... Still stupid regardless.
Prepare for a new wave of outrage. Digital versions of the games are reported to be corrupting all data on SD cards if Autosave is on and the game crashes.
@arekdougy Yeah, it may sound like it, but Pokemon really got me through the darkest time of my life and helped me make lifelong friends. The confirmation of Game Freak lying about the models just killed it for me. Thought Game Freak still cared about the fanbase. Not anymore.
Can't we just get info on Pokemon Home now?! Getting pretty infuriating that we are in the dark about this crucial thing despite being mentioned so often...
@Trajan Yeah, but will it sell well like Let's Go or better? That game is doing well, but it's the lowest amount of lifetime sales for the Pokemon games made by Game Freak.
Considering trends with kids with games like Fortnite, easier accessible alternatives in PoGo and Masters AND the backlash from the longtime fans (most of the players nowadays who buy the games) Let's not kid ourselves, SwSh will sell regardless, but the level of success won't likely be able to match Sun and Moon.
Again they DIDN'T say a thing about what Home has to offer that makes it actually WORTH transferring. IS IT TOO MUCH FOR ONE NEW DETAIL TO BE REVEALED?!
@TheAwesomeBowser I can DEFINITELY see that with SwSh animation and returning Pokemon models being WAY too similar to XY and Let's Go ones and their claim of them being made from scratch. There may be a strong enough case there this time around. I don't see much foul with 3DS era games, as they didn't claim to make the sprites of the old Pokemon from scratch with Gen 7. Keyword on "Misleading" as you've said, so that's why I see this being okay for Sun and Moon. Ultra games are more debatable and potentially guilty.
@TheAwesomeBowser I'm American, so that Competition and Consumer Act 2010 isn't something I'm familiar with. Could you point out HOW Game Freak is often breaking this law exactly ? It's blatantly obvious that Zenimax allowed a game that looks like it's still in early alpha build, and Bethesda blatantly lied, so they deserve it, but I'm honestly wondering what you're referring to with Game Freak being a repeat offender. Even subpar, all Pokemon games ARE complete games on a technical standpoint, and they didn't lie excessively about what the games do have. (Hard to say about SwSh though) I'm honestly scratching my head about this.
I choose Sobble. He's adorable, and final form surprisingly fits with Persona 5. (Greninja could work too, but feels kinda out of place because of guns)
First impressions matter, and they started off good, but Dexit came and wiped all that. Masuda just repeated the same stuff that people never bought and NEVER SAID WHAT ELSE WE COULD DO WITH HOME. Slowly rebuilt a decent amount of hype, then the leaks came, and the outrage is slowly building up again.
Seriously, they focused priority of Little Town Hero over Pokemon, and look where this lead them, a game that's on average seen as subpar and a generation that may end up selling equal or less than Let's Go due to how the Dex is going to be, Charizard favoritism, and how the games aren't graphically as good as Game Freak boasted.
No matter what side you're on, one can agree things aren't looking good.
@ShadJV Agreed. Personally, I'll be fine with what they did for Sword and Shield as long as Pokemon Home actually can let me do things with my Living National Dex in it, especially the ones who aren't allowed in the new games. If Home isn't worth transferring, I'm pretty much finished.
@ShadJV That makes sense, but we've had comparisons of X and Y wireframes to Let's Go,and they're very identical, with the same polygon count . If there was a problem that most wireframes can't work, they're really not saying anything. All I really want to know is regarding Home. Is it worth having a Living National Dex in Home? If so, then in what way?
@ShadJV I get the thing regarding the models needing time for new texture maps. But what about the wireframes by themselves? Could they be the future-proofed models mentioned? That would save a considerable amount of time, compared to building from scratch, and then there's file conversion.
@Jeronan if only that carried over to the Regional Dex. I am sick of seeing Geodude, Zubat, Machop, Poliwag, Snorlax, and all the others who just keep reappearing every game. Pikachu and Eevee are exceptions as they're the mascots, no matter how tired I am of seeing Eevee.
@Heavyarms55 will agree to that, but I won't be too shocked if Sword and Shield are the glitchiest games to date. 1000 people. Trouble is guaranteed somewhere. I just hope the games have no real issues and just be minor. We do not need a Bethesda to happen.
I'd embrace this fully but only if Pokemon Home makes it worth transferring my Living Dex and they aren't just stuck there doing nothing there. I'd like to battle with them there at least if possible.
Seriously though. We NEED more information about what Home can do. Home is going to be the make or break factor for me.
@Heavyarms55 Not on the same level, but there was issues with the Friend Safari where some of the Bug type ones wouldn't display the Pokemon available for X and Y as well, Missingno way back in Gen 1, the first patch for USUM to fix a bug where new Pokemon you caught weren't registered sometimes, the Acid Rain weather that existed in competitive play in Gen 4. Care to have more listed?
@MisterWhen which is not an issue with the fanbase and how much money they rake in. Highest grossing franchise of ALL TIME. Even with just a chunk of the profits of their share, they have the money to make that happen.
@MisterWhen I understand, series fatigue is a real thing, but even if they're not passionate now, would it kill them to have all hands on deck?Like they all work on for one Pokemon game, then have everyone do another non-Pokemon project after that's finished, then just repeat after that's done?
Edit: That or hire more people. They can EASILY afford to do that.
@MisterWhen I agree, but keep in mind that could also mean a complete shift to mobile. That and the studio is not putting as much effort by splitting the team up and doing multiple projects at once. Double edged sword there.
@Sabroni they didn't. Instead they split the team up for development of both simultaneously. Keep in mind this is a company of 143, plus Game Freak admitted in an interview to be increasing priority of all other projects opposed to Pokemon. Desiring to Branch out is good, but this approach makes everything suffer. Worst case scenario for Pokemon: Pokemon migrates to mobile fully. That's been very profitable with Go and Masters.
@Matthew010 Totally agree, but there's one detail that REALLY irks me. Game Freak is putting increasing priority to Everything that's NOT Pokemon, hence why Little Town Hero looks way more polished in early development videos compared to Pokemon Sword & Shield, and that's with the fact the dev team of 143 members is in two groups, developing both Little Town Hero and Pokemon SwSh at the same time. They could EASILY expand the team plus have higher budgets since they do make a lot of money from Pokmon, even after it's split up. Honestly, I understand the series fatigue and desire to Branch out, but what irks me is their current approach. Feel Pokemon is suffering for it. If the full team did the games, it'd be getting less hate, then GF can spend some time like a year or two with a non-Pokemon project afterwards, then repeat the cycle. Doing that slows releases for Pokemon a bit, but it'll make things easier and better for us all.

Either you are getting it or you are feeling betrayed with everything Game Freak did that you're no longer a fan like myself. That's the bottom line.
