From now until 16th April, Pokémon Sword and Shield is hosting a special max raid battle event themed around Easter. It'll be focused on egg exclusive Pokémon, and will seemingly include pocket monsters such as Togepi, Cleffa, Riolu, and Pichu.
There's no additional information just yet, but with any luck, all of the creatures will be up for grabs. In somewhat related news, The Pokémon Company recently said it would not hesitate to ban players permanently who deliberately disconnected from online matches. You can read more about this in our previous story.

Strangely little detail here. No mention of different rewards or increased shiny chance or anything? Every other event like this they have done has had stuff like that.
[edit] The raids have breeding items like destiny knot and ever stones in the rewards. And the EV items like Power Bracer and Power Anklet.
Honestly not that useful. However, I got a shiny Araquind while running around raiding. WIN!
@Heavyarms55 also like... it’s baby Pokemon... and ditto for some reason? Don’t get me wrong, ditto raids are great (though I no longer need them thanks to Pokebank and being able to transfer my max IV Ditto I’ve had since gen 5), it just seems a bit of a strange raid...
@ShadJV Ditto makes total sense. It's literally an egg factory. Hell, mine basically never leaves the daycare and has thousands of offspring. And baby Pokemon come from eggs.
You gotta understand, on average all Japan knows about Easter is the Easter Bunny, eggs and a vague awareness that there is a connection to Christians in some form. Easter just isn't a thing in Japan.
I just find it odd that there would be an event like this, but no mention of shiny chance increase (like they did on New Years) or different than usual rewards, like basically every other raid event.
I wonder if the Munchlax will be able to evolve into g-max snorlax. I still really want a 0 speed g-max snorlax.
@Heavyarms55
Not to mention Ditto's unavailability in the Ruby and Sapphire days was a major spanner in the works for breeders. I've lost count of the females clogging up my boxes before (and after, I must admit) FireRed and LeafGreen came along.
@AlexSora89 totally forgot about R&S having no ditto, the first time I really spend a lot of time in that region was with Emerald.
That aside are Raids in S&S worth it? Didn't try them as much because they didn't feel that special in first place.
@Rayquaza2510 It depends on things. Some raids are of fully evolved Pokemon with a item based evolution like Rhyperior, so these raids let's you catch them without using the item. Perfect for filling the dex without trading much.
BTW, the reward items for these new raids are Boiled Eggs for curry, the six power items (Power Weight, Lens, etc.) Destiny Knot, Everstone, and the Lucky Egg. All the baby Pokemon and Ditto yield these.
Might participate but am getting a little bored of max raid battles now. Have never noticed anyone disconnect on me during a max raid but am guessing that happens more on competitive matches.
Can barely find any of them.
Awesome, haven't gotten a Riolu yet.
@Rayquaza2510
Don't ask me, I haven't bought the game yet.
If there was an increase in shiny chances then i will bite but otherwise none of this interests me as i have everything it can offer.
@WallyWest they do have easy methods to getting shiny pokemon from farming dens like the 5 star shiny charizard in a den surrounded by rocks with evolution stones around it.
I dislike baby Pokemon, so sadly I'll be missing this one. Maybe if they were shiny or had a higher shine rate I'd consider, but not for some plain colored Pokemon. So far Animal Crossing has been my go to and Pokemon just doesn't give me much of a reason to go back to it.
Ditto with high stats are very useful for breeding. I'll have a go at catching some of them.
A chance for shiny baby Pokemon...let me at them.
Ditto being in the raid rotation would be helpful. Though I wished there was an option to skip the dynamax animation. Having to sit through it every time kind of kills it for me.
Quick question I was doing some max raids today and saw someone hosting a passcode zeraora max battle how is that possible? Could this be legit or hackers?
@Gahdrii hackers. There's no Zeraora event.
@Saro so disappointing
