Re: 3DClouds Responds To Criticism Of The Switch Version Of Xenon Racer

It is good they are working on improvements but the game does really look like a late PS2 game rather than 360/ PS3 game. So there really is no reason the game can't run at a stable framerate of at least 30fps, and also look SIGNIFICANTLY better without that truly awful pop in, than it probably will after the patches.

Also here is an idea for game devs in general: Finish the bloody game before releasing it.

Gamers will eventually lose faith and that will be the source of a potential crash coming to the gaming business. I know I have been close at times to just dropping everything with current gaming and playing retro games instead.

@kobashi100

That is fine, but there are others who won't consider games for extremely minor things that DF points out that they otherwise wouldn't even know / notice. And you just have to look at the comments on Eurogamer and youtube to see the absolute plebs that every Digital Foundry video seems to drag out from their caves.

Every game has flaws, as long as they are fun then I am game.

Oh Digital Foundry say it is a lot of fun so does that mean I am allowed to enjoy it now?

Digital Foundry releases some interesting videos, their retro pieces are fantastic, but there is almost a level of worship from some people who won't go near a game unless their idol Digital Foundry tells them so.

The idiots are losing out as a result.

Re: Microsoft Eager To "Bring Game Pass To Any Device" People Want To Play On

Good old Phil effectively conceding the console race there. There may be another "proper" Xbox console after this but then that will be it for Microsoft in the console hardware business.

Also Xbox / Microsoft have easily the worst collection of exclusives out of them, Nintendo and Playstation so I really don't think this is going to be as successful as Phil thinks it is. Plus it will have to involve streaming games which is not a way I will play a videogame, and I imagine many other people feel the same.

Dead in the water.

Microsoft never understood the console business.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 2nd)

SBandy

I have lots of Switch and PS4 games in my backlog (practically none on Xbox One which is that console's main problem) but I am currently obsessed with God of War and about to start my third playthrough. I initially wasn't interested but it received such good word of mouth I picked it up when on sale over Xmas. It deserved every Game of the Year award it received. Outstanding.

You imply he isn't also pouring his heart and soul into his work.

I am all for supporting the "little guy" but it isn't up to Nintendo Life to search the internet for random drawings of Nintendo characters and report on it here, I for one would be asking where the real stories are. There are no doubt many websites dedicated to that.

Bottom line is Grassetti has a tie to another videogame which makes this story more relevant for Nintendo life than other artists drawings of Nintendo characters. Also Grassetti has already made it as you said so it isn't like he is getting a one up over anyone else.
