There certainly is in the UK, not just for this game but the Switch console itself (regular not Lite).

A strong Christmas period for Nintendo in the UK it seems.

If stock has run out it means it is more popular than Nintendo anticipated, and whilst frustrating for people searching for the game it is better for Nintendo having to re-stock supply rather than have shelves full of a game no one wants.

Considering the game was released with fairly little fanfare I think it can be considered a runaway success.

The reviews on Amazon UK also suggest a big hit.

OK fired it up on the Wii U and played a few online games, here is my findings:

1. Doesn't have the purple boost.
2. Doesn't have the extra item box.
3. Doesn't have the new battle stages.
4. Only 720p on the telly
5. Looks rough on the gamepad streamed at 480p, guess I am used to crisp 720p native handheld now.

In summary, I really don't think you have a clue what you are talking about.

Yes, yes I have hence how I was able to explain the differences between the two. The extra boost and extra item box both make Deluxe feel totally different from the original due to the extra layer of tactics they provide.

I own both games and here are the differences in Deluxe:

Much improved battle mode that does not exist in MK8.

The extra boost that does not exist in MK8 and adds another layer to the races

A second item box that does not exist in MK8 and adds another layer of tactics to the races.

When one game has features another game doesn't have, they aren't the same game bud. To argue otherwise makes someone look stupid.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a Switch exlcusive as it cannot be played (legally) on any other system.

I do remember when the game was first announced a few people saying the devs were wasters and would leave the game to rot as they had done that with other console versions.

People likely choose that bundle because of the game included so of course it should count.

Fifa 20 is included in a lot of Playstation bundles as was Sea of Thieves with Xbox One which is why it jumped up the charts last week. As long as it is properly recorded who cares how the game was purchased?

It is also a good indicator of how a console is selling.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a beast as always but it is Luigi's Mansion 3 sales performance which is the most impressive here. I guess the UK does love the green fella!

Funny thing is if every white character in the game was voiced by a black actor or an actor from another race then everyone would really lose their minds regardless of whether the hired voice actor was best at that role.

The simple fact is that never happens so we don't know.
