Re: Feature: No More Robots Boss On How Switch eShop Is Pushing Publishers To Game The System

RunninBlue

So, his solution to improve the eShop is to have it push (or “recommend”, I should say) games to me that it wants me to buy? Using algorithms trying to interpret my taste? Like every other annoying, intrusive and bloated digital storefront?

Yeah, thanks but no thanks.

I don’t need any company trying to steer me to what I want. I’m not an imbecile. I know what I want, mate.

If you want your game to be discovered organically, then at your next design meeting, examine how you came to make a “video game” about “a rude bouncer sim about brexit”. Start with that and go from there.

It’s not hard.

Re: Nintendo Reportedly Arguing Switch Joy-Con Drift "Isn't A Real Problem"

RunninBlue

I didn’t believe the drift thing was a widespread problem until it started gradually occurring for me a few months ago and increasingly got worse.

It has got to the point where I can only play my Switch in docked mode with a Switch Pro Controller. Playing in handheld mode with the Joy-con is impossible. It is incredibly frustrating.

I was going to send them to Nintendo for a fix, but the Australian service centre was shut down due to Covid-19. So, I either buy a new Joy-con set for $119 or wait.

Sad times.

@TG16_IS_BAE Don’t take everything you read on an internet comments section as straight up gospel.

Randy Pitchford was ACCUSED of these things by a disgruntled ex-friend and business associate. He was never prosecuted for any of it which is enough to put some doubts on the accusations.

The last thing the world needs is more trial by internet mob based on comments without seeing the evidence.

Not saying he is a good or bad person, but the outrage mob cowboys condemning someone from their computer desk without seeing the proof are far worse in my opinion.

Re: Bioshock: The Collection

I wonder if this has game-breaking bugs like the PC version? My PC version of 2 had a crashing bug at the same point in the game. It made completing the game impossible. It was also never fixed with a patch to the best of my knowledge.

I’m really curious to know because I would like this on Switch, but I’m not getting burnt again.

I finally played through BG1 a couple of years ago on PC and was looking forward to importing my character into BG2. Now, I have a dilemma. A game like this is perfect on Switch imo, but, I’ll have to play the first game over again on the Switch in order to transfer my characters into BG2 for Switch. Boo. I wish there was some magic PC to Switch save transfer.

Actually, I’m pretty sure a dev just announced that another game would have that feature.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (Europe)

RunninBlue

@Silly_G Yeah, I’ve known about Vooks for years but never regularly visited. Not sure why. I think in the past the website wasn’t very user-friendly.

They don’t seem to do a comprehensive realease and sales list like NintendoLife does either.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (Europe)

RunninBlue

Any chance you can start including Australian pricing with these Euro release lists? I assume the Euro list is the same as the Aussie one since Nintendo class them as the same region for the Switch in terms of release dates and sales.

Just a thought.
