This game wins the award for most confusing installation choice on PC. I spent a half hour last night trying to decipher the difference between the 6 different entries for minecraft in the pc xbox app. Love you microsoft store!
Anyway, I haven't played minecraft since 2011 so cool to see all these changes. And I look forward to checking out the switch version and how it runs. As I understand it, all games have crossplay with eachother, except the java edition, which can only play with itself?
TBH when rumors were swirling about this game, I though I'd heard it was gonna be a retro remake, and my mind went to a beautiful pixel art beat 'em up (think shredder's revenge) but with 16 bit executions. Imagine juggling a severed head to rack up combo points, rather than the enemies body? I'd love to see some handcrafted pixel art rather than mocap sprites.
The realistic gore is getting to the point where it's a turn off. Still, I enjoyed mk9 quite a bit. I just hope they don't slow down the fights with zoomed in xray crap again.
Not looking forward to building crap to traverse, or weapon breaking / crafting, but everything else looks great. Happy for everyone that wanted this. Gamers deserve a 10/10 every once in a while that doesn't come out half finished.
I just want a lego game where the world is made out of lego, rather than a mix of lego and 'realistic' terrain. We have the horsepower to do it, hell it would take less polygons to render lego-looking locales than rendering foliage and natural looking stuff.
That said, this looks good and I am excited for it!
PSA: River city girls 2 runs like garbage, IMO. Might bother some people less than it does me, but it doesn't feel like a good 30fps game, regarding responsiveness. So disappointed.
On the other hand, after watching a review of Cosmo dreamer, i'm probably picking that up.
Got this in the mail the other day. Unfortunately it runs like absolute crap on switch, compared to the previous game. Also missing online play, so I totally wasted my money on the cartridge. Will sell to someone and just get the Steam version on a discount.
@chefgon People played using mouse back in Doom. Quake you could look around by holding a hotkey, not a cheat. Granted, keyboard only was more popular , especially in Doom. But as soon as I realized I could move forward/back with mouse, in addition to aiming, I never went back to keyboard only.
Mario Kart Tour on Switch. I know it's a longshot but I really wanna play it with a controller (and I hope they'd remove the course boundaries so it's not too easy).
Other than that, I hope to see some Metroid news. Oh, and Goldeneye! And Advance Wars.
That camera movement looks like it'd make me puke! Will wait for video of someone playing it normally. I'm hoping the zooming / panning are just trailer effects, and that the judder when screen scrolls is youtube's fault because this looks atmospheric and fun otherwise.
@Shade_Koopa You're probably right. I had a bit to drink last night when I made that reply. Still, I've been thinking about the possibility. It would be cool to try the game with proper controller support.
Also, strangely I like the gacha mechanics in this game, though I usually hate the idea. I don't spend money and I like earning my daily pull, or the guaranteed high-end at the end of a tour. Did sign up for the two-week gold trial though, they really assault you with unlocks at that point to get you hooked! Still will be cancelling, it's far too much money for what you get, random or not.
30 fps is fine as long as the frame pacing is consistent. Wish more developers would pay attention to this. Kirby and the forgotten land is a great example of how to do 30fps right.
Damn it. I got excited when I heard Bayo 1 physical was coming, so i went and bought Bayo 2 cartridge. I wasn't going to since i would never have 1 on cart, or so I thought. But now I can't seem to preorder anywhere! Damn you Nintendo. Just print more to demand. I'll even trade my 'limited' copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Hope we get synthesized music option again, though I hope it features more new music and less of the oldies. Wish Mario would go back to synthesized music too.
Also wish Dragon Quest VIII would get a switch port.
I like the rune factory style art, but tri as i might, i can't get into the in-game graphics from what I've seen. I'm all for a cooperative RPG though, so hopefully it's systems are fun and the controls are responsive
I loved Snow Bros. on Game Boy and NES, and later when I played the arcade ROM. I have more fun with that then with Bubble Bobble, which aggravates me with jumping on bubbles required in later stages. All this release needed for me to buy it was the Arcade ROM included, but they ruined it with the ugly graphical style.
Also, this is the first time I have disliked the actual review on this site. Maybe since it's a remake, have someone with a slight fondness for the original give it a review? I don't know.
@Moistnado Agreed. I just want my few digital purchases to carry over to next system, like the XBox. Then I can feel a little safer purchasing digital games. Of course cartridge compatibility too. I've sunk more into collecting on this system than any other dating back to the NES.
@Serpenterror That's gonna be the future DLC / expansion. Just like SoR4 and their added characters. OR maybe we get lucky and it's a late reveal / unlockable!
I haven't pulled the trigger on ordering a patched cart because I started seeing listings saying "don't trust the 1.3 update, game is unable to be finished, buy the 1.2 instead" etc so I don't know which is a safe product to order yet. Would gladly pay $60 for a proper switch boxed release.
Is the west getting a physical ? I may have missed it. It said Japan is 'also' getting a physical. Does that mean we are, or they're getting it in addition to the digital we'll both be getting?
The advice in this article sounds like the process to 'recalibrate' the percentage meter, so it more accurately reflects the state of charge, not something that actually changes battery charge capacity. Likely, fully discharging a battery will do more harm than not.

Re: Review: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Bold, Bleak, And Bewildering Boomer Ballistics
I'm going to play this while listening to Bolt Thrower, because that's what the album cover graphic up top of the page made me think of.
Re: Minecraft Trails & Tales Update Coming To Nintendo Switch This June
@Kynwal Awesome, I have a Series S and game pass so that works.
Re: Hot Wheels Unleashed Appears To Be Getting A Sequel
I hope the sequel actually lets us race more on real-life settings, instead of limiting us to the orange track. Re-Volt anyone?

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom - An Absolute Marvel, But Is It Better Than BOTW?
@kurtasbestos
I feel you on that. On the bright side, if we wait long enough to play this, we'll probably get an enhanced version or patch on the next hardware.

Now I just have to finish BotW!

Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Played for about 15 hours and was just afraid of using good weapons because they'd break.
Re: Yes, There Really Will Be A Space Invaders Mode In Puzzle Bobble Everybubble!
Another game I'd probably have loved if it wasn't ruined (IMO) by the ~2000's flash game graphics. Same thing happened with Snow Bros

Re: Improve Your Pokémon's Stats In Scarlet And Violet's New Picnic Function
I hate added minigames that boost stats. Makes me feel like I have to do it, and they're never very fun.

You give me a copy of this on catridge and some pretty cover art, and I give you my money, Konami. Deal? Just mind that input lag ok?

Re: Video: Shovel Knight Dig Switch Gameplay Footage, Direct From PAX West 2022
Not liking the choppy digging animation. Not choppy like low framerate, but jerky which makes me dizzy.
Re: Mario Kart Tour To Remove Gacha Elements Next Month
This is just prep work for the eventual switch port.
Re: Mana, Xenoblade Alumni's Co-Op RPG 'Trinity Trigger' Coming West Next Year
love the idea of coop action rpg, don't like the janky 3d animations. Still hope it turns out well.

Oh boy, here comes the announcement of a physical Earthbound / Mother 3 collection. Right? ...Right?
Re: Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle Has Been Played By Over 10 Million Switch Users
I like this game. It's well done and fun, but I've started it twice and forgotten about it around the 2nd world each time. Guess it's not for me.

Re: 'Bullet Soul' Shmup Duo Get Short Delay On Switch, Still Releasing Fall
@Royalblues Raiden series? I don't personally consider them bullet hell, more in the style of fast bullet military shooters.
Crisis wing is excellent too, space ships and nice old school music
Re: Where To Pre-Order Pokémon Scarlet And Violet On Switch
Just a PSA: physical collectors may wanna wait and see if the whole game is on the cart this time, and possibly wait for patched / complete revisions.
Re: River City Girls 2 Release Window Shifts To "Sometime After" Summer 2022
@DTfeartheBEARD You can still get a switch physical copy from play-asia for $39.99, with English, if you're interested.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - The Legend Of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Japan, with U.S. in second place. The European one has too much text and bigger logos intruding on the image.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass Wave 2 Confirmed For Next Week
anti-grav? Damn . That and underwater bring down the experience a bit for me in mk8. Nintendo doesn't always need a gimmick, but they think they do.
Still, looks amazing and happy for more tracks that won't get chosen via the online roulette even when 11/12 people vote for them.
Edit: Looks like it's only the new Sundae track with anti-grav. Can't complain too much then

Re: Poll: What's Your Game Of The Year 2022 So Far?
You made me only choose one, so it had to be Kirby over TMNT, but only because TMNT doesn't have a playable Kirby.

I've already learned the term "modcon" from this site, so here's to learning another one!
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Multiplayer Will Let You Explore With Up To Four People
