Square Enix has released a third official trailer for Dragon Quest X Offline, due out for Switch, PlayStation and PC in Japan on 15th September.
This latest clip highlights the heroes. In case you've missed our previous coverage, this is a new version of the MMORPG that can be played completely offline. Unfortunately, there's been no mention of the game being localised.
Last month in July, Square Enix also announced it would be releasing an 'all in one' Switch package for Dragon Quest X Online - including Version 1 to 6 of the MMO. The downside is it's another Japan-only release. We'll happily take either (or both), Square Enix.
Would you like to see the offline version of this Dragon Quest make its way to the west? Show your support below.

Would love to try DQ online, or offline version. Send it.
Looks cool, too bad Square pretends it's western fanbase doesn't exist.
Well, maybe in 15 years, they'll rerelease it for DQX's 25th Anniversary and it still won't be released outside of Japan.
The Offline version with Chibi form looks more interesting to play.
I'm still sure we'll get this in the west. DQXI's localization wasn't announced until the day the game launched in Japan, so there's still time for an announcement for DQX Offline. If we get a Direct next month, I think there's a decent chance we'll see this.
Please bring the offline version to the west Square Enix.
I ordered Dragon Quest VIII for the Playstation 2 a few days ago.
This will be my second game of the series. I tried it once in my teen days but I was not ready for it yet. I thought it was boring and propably a little bit childish. I am so happy I survived my teenager days. It feels a little bit like moving on from the days before the changes started.
Looking forward to playing this one! Still hoping 9 gets remade. I think that is the only game locked to its original system.
og dq x and 3ds xi have some of the coolest graphics ever and we never got them...
@NinjaNicky Localisation costs more than you'd expect. Good voice actors, especially. If you get bad voice actors you get something like Trials of Mana.
I got a kick out of that game's voice acting though, it definitely fit the so bad it's good category.
Also: whats with the artstyle? Couldn't they just copy assets from the original online version?
For me, it's still strange to see many optimists out there. I mean... Some Japanese developers ports their already translated to English games on Switch, without worldwide release and English language support. I'm tired of mentioning that sad but undeniable fact. And I'm tired of listing the number of such games that available on English language almost everywhere but not on Switch. Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram, Ar Nosurge, and... Well, that's enough. I'm tired of this.
My body is dragon, Square Enix.
Japanese exclusive? How lame. Square really is the worst.
@Varkster Yeh, for a bunch of heroes, they're all just a smidge evil/ugly looking, with some curiously off-colour skin tones.
No worries, I had my first Japanese lesson yesterday.
For some reason the mouth on that thumbnail loks like a mustache, and so the thumbnail looks like Randy Marsh.
I hope we get news on a Western release soon. Come on, Square Enix! This is the missing piece.
@iLikeUrAttitude SQUARE hates money.
If we can't get Dragon Quest X (either online or offline), can we at least get Dragon Warrior X? lol
I'd love to play this, but I fear we'll never see it localized here...
Still... holding out hope... for this version, or the full one...
I just want to be able to say I've played all the mainline games, Square. Throw me a bone.
I'm hopeful we'll see Dragon Quest X Offline in Europe. I remember the old days, when it wasn't so strange to not know if something was going to be released outside of Japan. Playing Dragon Quest IX was one of the best gaming experiences of my life, coming home on a Saturday night to go through a grotto, hoping to get some Metal King or S-Class equipment. Maybe I'm wrong, but this looks like it could offer a similar feeling.
Why would they release all these games in the west but hold out on this mainline entry? they're giving us all sorts of spinoffs for goodness sakes. I hope the localization is in progress and they just haven't announced it yet.
Guys, you can play the online DQX right now IN ENGLISH believe it or not. https://dqxabbey.com/
There's even an English community and guild, Oh my!
I really want this game so bad. DQXI S for me is 2nd only to BotW on Switch. Fingers crossed we get this game.
They give us games like Bravely Default and Live A Live (the latter apparently selling very wel) so why not this?.
Why they had to ruin the art style with these horrible bobble heads . Really want a western release of X but not like this!
I know a lot of people prefer a singleplayer campaign, but I really would love more MMO's like DQX to play on Switch.
FFXIV with Bravely Default graphics would be so fun to play. I still dream of a proper FFXIIOnline, same graphics but with extended maps. FFXII's amazing guild system, wasted on a solo campaign.
Also dreaming of a Monster Hunter MMO made for Switch. Sigh.
Why does DQX hate us?
Really, really want this in NA.
Would love for an English dub since DQ11's was so good, but realistically would be fine with no dub and just English translation. It would absolutely be a day 1 purchase.
Man can dream...
if Square can make this, couldn't they some day do a FFXI Offline?
I mistaked this for a Lego version from the thumbnail lol. Idk if I'm about the chibi look. But I will say, I do appreciate the fact all the characters look different this time! I was sooo damn tired that most of the characters in the past games had samey looking faces/looks. They seriously looked like a bunch of inbreds. About time honestly.
This game I actually want to try. It looks pretty descent overall.
Also it's kind of an oxymoron. You can't be an mmorpg and be offline. Online is in the acronym. Lol
