Hoping for a non-Limited Run physical like SoR4! With a keychain in the box and everything! Though I'd rather have a pizza coupon. Good year to be an old turtles game fan!
Ouch. Looking like no original arcade version included? Still excited somewhat, but not a fan of the graphics which resemble a smooth or super eagle 2x filter on an emulator.
I'm happy there are no anti-grav sections. While being upside down was a cute gimmick, driving the anti-grav kart just felt like a less fun version of the normal kart. Same with under water, IMO. I'd rather have karting and gliding only, or maybe some snow-tube boats. Where's the new Diddy Kong Racing again?
Damn, I am so excited for this. But was hoping M2 was doing the work like the Contra / Castlevania collections. Now we must pray there isn't bad input lag.
I was just looking through my gameboy games the other day, and was sad to remember I had traded TMNT 1 and 2 away back in the day. Still have 3. Now I will have them all again.
I keep hoping for a lego game where every thing is legos, instead of realistic textures mixed in. Driving around -or exploring on foot- a fully lego city in first person mode would be awesome.
OH my god, I love this game. Hopefully original arcade rom is also playable! I'm so happy. I occasionally think about this game and wonder why it hasn't come back. Nice surprise!
Cmon nintendo, just need a steam like account where all games are tied to your account, not your system, and make sure they're compatible going forward with all future systems. Even xbox is way better, i can still buy and play 360 arcade games, and many carry over to new hardware
Back when EB was released, best friend and I rented it. We stayed up til 5am playing it (I will forever associate birds chirping outside with wandering around that wintry area as Jeff).
Being a conniving little *****, I convinced my Mother to buy that game for my brother as a Christmas gift, while the rental store was going out of business. On Christmas night, friend and I opened his gift from under the tree, and rewrapped minus the game. We again played late into the night until he had to leave. I forgot to put the game back, and panicked as bro opened it, but he didn't care. Years later he gave me the game and player's guide/box in trade for some game he probably didn't even want.
Wish I kept the guide and box, but I'll never part with the cart due to memories.
I don't know if there were problems with QA/poor pay back in the days of worms world party, armageddon, etc. But those games were buggy pieces of crap, IMO. I could never get a team17 worms game to work properly. Though maybe it was also partially Windows 98 or ME's issue .
And yes I will question any leaders' ethics who instantly jump on the NFT bandwagon, without using it to offer gamers useful things such as selling their own games.
Honestly, how can she be surprised at the negative reaction.. is a leader at the company that out of touch with their audience / the current ill-will surrounding NFT's?
Can we post links here? Not sure so just search youtube for Castlevania: Seal of the Eclipse and realize others can pull a Sonic Mania and do a much better job than Konami probably would do nowadays. So if anything happens, I hope they outsource or hire a passionate team such as the fangame I mentioned.
Can't wait to buy this in a year or two when some patches are on the cart! Seriously though, happy it seems to have turned out well. If only I could drag myself to the end of DQ XI, then I could prepare for another lengthy game.
Damn, that last screenshot, right above the polls.. That could be what a future kirby game looks like if Nintendo does a nice hardware upgrade next system.
@dBackLash Single player hasn't aged well, especially the cinematics, but the multiplayer is still fun as hell.
My only hope for this is that I can walk with the turok style controls, foward/back with the face buttons, and aim with left stick. I don't think that was included in the PD release on xbox. If i recall, you could walk with right stick, but that feels like garbage to me.
Rented Wave Race 64 with a friend multiple times. The game had a brilliant feature where you could save times to your memory pak, and also the cartridge, and the ability to merge them if I recall, so you could plug em into the cartridge each time you rented, and compete with other renters.
Bought the DS version sealed for $5 at a Hollywood video (or blockbuster? Can't remember) closing sale. Still have one copy sealed. Played that game right after a hard breakup, and it got me through those few days. Sucks that it has those emotions attached permanently now though. Or maybe it's better because of it.
Yea, watched someone stream this once, looks really fun. Switch gets so many good games. It's going to be looked back on as a legendary console years from now.
I had ordered Kirby and paper mario physical at the 26.99 then later heard they may mail you opened games. I didn't think of that, even though it's why i stopped shopping them locally. Will return them if that's the case. Though i'd have accepted an opened 'new' astral chain if it wasn't sold out . My morals only go so far
This was the rare first party game that I bought at launch. Bit me in the ass, not having content complete game on cart. At this point, should have gone digital. Still glad for updates though.
@Noelemahc I'm American and had Mana and Evermore. I preferred Evermore, and actually finished that one with help from a game counselor phone call, if I recall. Sadly I traded them both in toward Duke Nukem 64. Wish I had mowed some lawns instead of trading in all-time classics, looking back.
I loved Ducktales, but had no idea there was a sequel back then, so never played it.
Wow, interesting article. Friend and I back during the SNES days had to call for help on some vampire in Shadowrun, which we'd rented on the SNES. I think back then I pictured the 'game counselor' as a much older adult, so it's funny seeing they were all very young.
I just did that with final fantasy x/x-2, got the asian release with games on the cart. Also FF7/8. Hopefully have the same opportunity with this. Otherwise, I'll buy it used (if it's an auto download and not a code) or wait a few years for a deep discount on PC
Yea I'll be thowing glass on this right away if I ever get one. Put one on my switch after noticing the dock was lightly scratching the screen bezels. No, it's not a myth. And I'm pretty gentle. Hell, my GBA SP still has a pristine screen.
3DS also had that issue with leaving lines down the screen while closed.
I had never used screen protectors for anything til nintendo switch. Still don't for my phone, since I don't care what it looks like.
Damn, hope it's all on the cart. Would it be cheaper for a publisher to put it on multiple smaller carts, and mold a new case? I'm not buying if it's not on the cart. At that point, i'll get it for $2 on steam someday instead.
@Lionyone Right on, I rarely buy a game at full price. Also agree on the downloads. I want a working complete game on the cart, for preservation's (and my slow internet's) sake. I can accept a few bugs or glitches, all games have always had them.
Owned my switch for 15 months so far, so I'm gonna wait a year and see how the burn-in is, as well as give myself time to slowly save for it while still supporting the game addiction. Had a guy offer me $200 for my switch, which would subsidize the cost nicely, but I think I want to keep the original hardware forever.
