Re: Switch 2 Sales Reportedly Struggled Over The Christmas Period

RoboCube

Honestly feel they released the Switch 2 a bit too early aside from Mario Kart World, Kirby and Donkey Kong which was gonna be a Switch 1 game there's no Switch 2 only games to get yet, I'm still playing my Switch lite and getting more Switch 1 games, despite having a Switch 2 since near launch I haven't got any Switch 2 carts yet and only thinking of starting with Zelda breath of the wild, I do like how it's like the GBC as in if I get upgrade I can also play it on my Switch 1 lite as well without the 60fps a lot of the Switch 2 versions feel like the old colour DX upgrades, it's nice but untill we get actual Switch 2 only games then it should get a lot more interesting.

Re: UK Charts: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Clings To The Top 40

RoboCube

@Metazoxan Honestly reminds me a lot of Duke Nukem Forever while I get they didn't want to rush development but after all these **years** it's a lot to live up too, and honestly it might of helped a lot if Nintendo remade Prime 2 and 3, maybe do something like Galaxy did and have all 3 prime games even if it's just HD versions of the Wii versions, or perhaps they could of put Prime 2 on Game Cube classics to get people into prime, while I brought the 1st remake and collection on Wii U back then tho never got round to playing 2 and 3 I'm in no rush to get 4 yet since I still got the 1st remake to finish, feel there's a lot of story to catch up first and Nintendo could of market this better.

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@Exerion76 Because Hamster are greedy, you only get a time attack mode so you just play Space Invaders for a few minutes instead of using a watch.. and VRR it's a game from 1978 so it's not really needed you get all the same save states, rewind features the only real benefit if you got a Switch 1 and 2 you can get the "upgrade" so you can play it on both consoles without swapping the virtual game cards between systems, other than that there's no real difference between AA and AA2 versions.

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@masterLEON It's still a rip off for this price, arcade archives never have any sales, meanwhile capcom have their arcade classics in a actual 3D arcade, bunch of options and you can pick which game you want for the price you would put into the machine a much better price plus a lot of these games are more replayable, the original Space Invaders got old soon as Galaga came out and isn't worth the price arcade archives is asking, I don't get why your defending them but if you want to pay $8 for a rom of a 1970's game that's been on everything as much as the original pacman you go and waste your money. lol

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@masterLEON Actually the normal Switch 1 and PS4 versions also have rewind and 4 save slots 5 if you count the quick save slot the only real difference between it and Switch 2 is a time attack mode and I guess VRR but do you really need that or a Switch 2 port just to play Space Invaders or any nearly 50 year old arcade game? Again when it's stuff that's never ported before like Ridge Racer tho I found the Switch 2 version to lag unlike on Switch 1 and Outfoxies would of been great if it has online same with Tokyo War, fact there's only a split screen option on Switch 2 yet M2's did 8 player split screen and online races on the Switch for 1/4 of the price sure it's great but Space Invaders? That's been perfectly brought home thu ports and emulation since the 90's and now at this price? At least with Donkey Kong you got 4 levels, this just seems like a total rip off I should know I bought enough of these arcade archives.

Plus you mentioned M2's Contra collection, at it only costs the price of two arcade archives roms and you actually get some history about the games your playing it's something that's always been lacking in arcade archives all you get is instructions and maybe a cheat code for a Easter egg like in Aque Jet.

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@Teksette So your Totally fine paying $9.99 for Space Invaders on Switch 2? Btw these aren't ports like Namco used to do with their Namco Museums especially the PS1 ones with the virtual museums it's roms on a emulator, there just doing what make does for free, only there making a mint here $20 if you wanted both Switch 2 versions of Space Invaders 1 and part 2 there's barely any changes between games it's more of a slight update/patch then a sequel for that price you could just could get the Space Invaders Compilation that has 11 games new and old not just the 70s roms, also there's Sega Ages by M2 they were much cheaper and with most releases actually ported the games to new systems adding new game features and improvements, I did like Hamster but they lost me on expecting people to buy any old rom they stick in their emulator for their ridiculous prices...again why does Space invaders a 1978 game need a Switch 2 upgrade? That costs $9.99??

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@shgamer For a series called arcade archives it would be nice if they included some history about each game instead just here's how to play it some of their releases have been amazing, and there are games have that "one more go" I won't lie but some of these releases like Space Invaders and other 70s games for this price is silly especially when capcom does it at 1/4 the price and honestly has a better presentation, even Atari has been doing a better job and more fair price, the dlc for the Namco arcade games,Atari ports is the same price as this one arcade archives release... lastly why the heck does Space Invaders and other 70's arcade games need a Switch 2 version? That isn't a free upgrade either... I know it's not the most powerful handheld in this age, but seriously? This isn't Zelda breath of the Wild it's a B&W 1970s arcade game...

Re: Arcade Archives Celebrates 500 Retro Releases With Special Commemorative Game

RoboCube

@Waluigi451 It's a ridiculous price to pay, when you could get a handheld that plays Space invaders for that price, it was kinda worth it to get the arcade versions of Donkey Kong and Mario Bros, Vs Super Mario Bros stuff that's never ever re released on anything till the Switch, but Space Invaders has been available on so many systems often as collections with the backgrounds and alternative versions, including the game boy version which has a whole snes ROM hidden in it's cartridge, it's a single screen, once you lasted one round you basically seen everything, it's not the late 70s or early 80s anymore, for $7.99 it's a rip off.

Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty's Nintendo Release Is Apparently On Target For 2026

RoboCube

@KingMinosOfKnossos Tbh there hasn't been a good cod game in ages, it would be more ideal to go back and port some of the PS3 era ones that would be easily playable on Switch 1 and 2, I mean we already had the recent Doom games and other big and better FPS games run great on it, in a odd way it's kinda nice to not have games like Black Ops 7 on it. More reasons why I'll never get a PS5, what the hell happened to Cod?

Re: Rumour: Call Of Duty's Nintendo Release Is Apparently On Target For 2026

RoboCube

@snil4 Love how they managed port COD MW 1 and 3 and the first Black Ops to Wii even if it played awful and looked like a PS2 game and the DS got tons of COD games all bad.. tho despite sharing the same name as the HD games they were all original games I never got why they didn't just do something like that for Switch a game made with the hardware in mind same with Vita it's one Black Ops 1.5 game was pretty good but short, never got why they didn't do more like DS got.

Re: "I Skipped School To Play" - Hideo Kojima Cites Super Mario Bros As The Reason He Makes Games

RoboCube

The original Super Mario Bros is still very enjoyable today, as stated I think it's how well made the controls and physics were, there was a game called Pac-Land had the same idea a year before, 4 levels your running and jumping on a journey, tho Pac's controls kinda ruin it, it's kinda even after Super Mario Bros a lot of later Nes and even Snes games in the 90s failed to give you this sense of control in platforming.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Ice Climber

RoboCube

Always love the European version gets the black box mixed with the Famicom box art, there's a alt of the European Super Mario Bros that does this too, the USA sprite work is nice and shows what your likely see in-game but there's something about the actual drawn artwork from Nintendo especially from their early titles.

Re: Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Switch 1 & 2 Physical Release Does Not Include Mortal Kombat 4 On The Game Card

RoboCube

@EarthboundBenjy yeah I remember that, I thought it was strange playing it after launch thinking could of sworn there was another lyxn game here last week only to discover it was removed and had to delete the update just to play it since when I first got I didn't play it when I was gonna try it they removed it.. as you said it's back now but man this is annoying.

Re: Mega Man Returns In 2027 With A "Brand-New Entry" For Switch And Switch 2

RoboCube

@Gohanjin Quite surprised it's coming to PS4 as well when Sony already said there stopping support for PS4 starting next year, feel they could of made something more interesting like a Megaman maker there was one in the PS3 era but it was cancelled or FPS Metroid prime style platformer again retro studios almost made one during the PS3 era or a 3D Megaman like legends perhaps even a remake like the psp got in Japan but nope we just getting another classic style 2.5D Megaman game... In 2027..some future.

Re: Reminder: Virtual Boy For Switch And Switch 2 Are Available On The My Nintendo Store

RoboCube

I'll stick to using Red Viper on 3ds if I want to play Virtual Boy games since you can play it in 2D and in any colour you want, and don't need any accessories to play it, while it's nice Nintendo remembered the virtual boy tho they should of done it with the 3ds this is a real hard sell and there making the same mistakes why this thing flopped in the first place...they should of added DS games instead even the Wii U had DS games on the VC.
