Reboot just means a brand new start.

A remake would attempt to recreate the experience using newer techniques.

A re-imagining means they've taken elements of the original, but are creating something new using them.

Then you have soft reboots that can be veiwed as both a brand new start or a continuation.

I'd prefer if all games were on all platforms, but I can't be angry at a platform holder funding a game and then keeping that game exclusive to their platform.

Though it would be nice if Nintendo followed MS or at least Sony, in releasing PC ports.

Can i also remind people that "vote with your wallet" doesn't work.

It's funny how everyone knows that boycotts don't work, but VWYW somehow does?.

It's a joke that you can say this, right after I made the argument that NSO forces people to buy it by being the only option to certain games and features, which you quickly dismissed because "it's cheap". You literally just defended Nintendo for not offering choice, then tried to say use that as a way to justify you using NSO. See I'd be OK with NSO if it didn't lock off things from people who found NSO to not be right for them. You, on the other hand, have pretty adamantly dismissed any other choice, other than paying for NSO.

I'm not a fan of something like Game Pass, but important stuff like cloud saves, party chat, and access to games isn't tied to having the subscription. This service is set up specifically to catch gamers who don't care about the online features. It's a scummy rip off.

@earthinheritor @AG_Awesome Yes and no. THQ are owned by the same parent group (which was THQ formerly) as Deep Silver, who now own the IP, and who refounded Free Radical Design back in May this year.

So I doubt there's much to announce there unless it's a remaster/collection.

@anoyonmus Yeah, it would hurt Nintendo to launch games on PC, because then they wouldn't be able to resell you the same game for full price again.

If Mario 64 had launched on PC for £8, there would be mods for full wide-screen, uncapped frame rates, and HD textures, all for free, and 3D all stars would have looked like even more of a joke.

As long as Nintendo can charge full price for cheaper projects, and still have people buy and defend it, you won't see Nintendo make a high budget game.

I had to look that up, and my first thoughts were, well that's BS.

"ette" as a suffix is feminine, meaning anything using that is a "female" version of that word. Gender exists in that race, and toadette is expressing as a female. Especially when you consider the pink colouration, pigtails, etc.

Looking at the wording, I think the creator meant they were sexless. As in, they do not have genitals and reproduce.

But as far as gender is concerned, they do have and express that gender in a way that we as the ones who consume this would understand.

That's just off of the top of my head. I'm sure if we researched this, we could get that to many times that. The issue is that people don't bat an eye at straight characters and straight relationships. They can go under the radar for a lot of people but you stick a LGBT character or relationship in a game and people go bat ***** crazy, and cause more attention to these. So the counter is to overexpose LGBT until people just don't care anymore.

Speaking of curious. If he is playing games through to completion, I'd love to know how he hit 240 games on one platform. I think I managed about 20 on PS during 2020 when I was stuck at home doing nothing.

For a guy that really likes to shooty shooty kill stuff, I've actually really enjoyed Slime Rancher. I'd definitely pick this up on Switch.

If your game has a grind, it's a poorly balanced game.

To everybody scared of, or upset about the reporting of, the Steam Deck, remember this;

If Devs take the Steam Deck seriously, and make sure they have settings that allow their games to run on a sufficiently low but enjoyable level, on mobile hardware, these versions would be much easier to port to the Switch or the Switch 2. Potentially boosting Switch support.

The Deck looks awesome and I'd love all four platforms to have serious hybrid options.

I would buy these if the Switch actually had a virtual console.

I don't want useless controllers once the service ends or I stop my subscription.

And where did you hear that it only has a 1 hour battery?. Google says 2 at least, and up to 8 (on what I'm guessing is very light use).

The Deck actually has all the features to deliver on the promises both the Vita and Switch made, but couldn't live up to.

Honestly, it's only missing the first party titles of Nintendo and Sony, but will have the Xbox ones, so...

Shame there's no type of console of the virtual kind that could make playing three lrgacy games, cheap, accessible, and legal.

I'm waiting for the slim versions. Because the 360s, the PS3 slim, the Xbox One S, and the PS4 slim are all better systems, albeit, not more powerful.

By this logic, the slim revisions are also harmful to initial launch hardware, because people should be waiting for the better versions that "obviously" will come out.

The X, Pro and Deck aren't meant to be replacements. They are techophile luxury items. A Switch Pro would have filled the same function.

Which brings me to the Xbox Series, the reason you struggled with the 'Xbox Series X..X' is because MS have already released their X and S versions. There will not be an 'XX' and 'SS'. There will be a Series 2 X and Series 2 S. That functions as a continuation, rather than an upgrade or new start. And people will pick and choose when to upgrade their old hardware. It will be like the console version of mobile phones or GPUs.

Robin has a special place for me and my partner. And the fact that our son shares today as his birthday is just something to help us remember him.

I find this subject quite simple. Robin tried very hard to keep others happy. That's who he was. His depression isn't who he was, it was something that happened to him, not something he did to others. He was ill. He did nothing to cause it and it could happen to anyone.

Remembering Robin should be about the joy and magic he tried to bring to the world.

Remembering his death should be about awareness of the dangers of depression and mental health. How easily it can take someone. How badly it can ruin lives. How truly invisible the illness is. And how better services are needed for the future.

I'm sure in this case, the money is invested for the future, rather than spent on over the top luxuries.

Someone needs to up the budget for the UI and update guy. He's just trying to keep his keep his life and the Switch's OS stable.

These guys are promoting a less toxic, more healthy, and more mature attitude towards gaming as a whole and you think they are doing a poor job because they aren't stroking xbox's ego 24/7?

They are creating a welcome space for gamers to go to, which is inherently good for gamers, and it's good for xbox because people want to be in that space, and they associate the nicer community with Xbox.

They are actually doing a stellar job.
