@drj Ditto. That's what I'm expecting from a review of this game, nothing more, nothin less. Then (and only then) i can accept any score you're willing to give, high or low.
Terrible, terrible review. The main selling point: it looks like Bubble Bobble bit it's not Bubble Bobble, therefore it sucks. Also, calling Snow Bros a D tier arcade game gives me the measure of how little the review knows about the whole arcade scene. And I'm not even talking about the remake here. I refrain, plain wrong, biased and shallow review. I can agree with a bad rating if it's backed by reasonable opinions, but that's not the case. This review gets a 0/10.
The first episode is a TERRIFIC game, one of the best I've ever played in fact, but hardly a good FPS. I'll be unpopular but I think that there are better suited games for the Switch, but if you REALLY REALLY REALLY can't play them on another platform (PC is the optimal choice for the controls, but any other game console will do), go grab this collection NOW.
Too little to late... btw, you can't come here saying "you did't expected to be as bad", a simple playtest would've brought up all the problems I've been experiencing in my (luckily short) playthrough, such as FPS dips, graphic glitches, and so on... not really happy with his one, I should've played it as soon as I had the opportunity (I bought retail) so I could send it right back to Amazon
Had it happening me with 2 left joycons. Sent back the first one to Nintendo. Swapped the analog stick with a new one myself the second time. Never looked back.
This was an AMAZING find. I knew by the look of it that I would love it... and I do! The pixel art is spot on and the game keeps pushing me in. It surely doesn't have either EtG's depth or NT's adrenalinic gunplay but it's big fun so far. I like the cute-sy characters you can unlock!
I'm all for physical releases, but there's a limit (pun intended). On a serious note, I've finally realized I can't keep buying 'em all as I'd love to... high cost, import duties, release timing (pretty useless when a game gets a physical release 2 years after) so I' think I'm going all the way digital for most indies, keeping physical for big, mainstream games or critically acclaimed indies (i.e. Celeste and the like) but just for the sake of collecting.
EU or NA it doesn't matter too much at this time. I'm going to keep a copy for my collection, no way I'm going to unlock weapons/characters/whatever for a third time now (already played tens of hours on PC and Switch)
While a 9 may be a tad too much, I think it could deserve a 7.5, even an 8. It's surprisingly well done, if a bit "glossy". Played it on PC and did a brief gameplay video some time ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6RWNVUVsNM
@koekiemonster No, it's not an easy game. You need to learn enemies' attack patterns, time your own attacks and more generally have quick reflexes. It's not Dark Soul-hard, that's what I meant. You'll get killed a lot in the first few hours but in the meantime you'll be unlocking more powerful spells that will help you on your journey
I really, really enjoyed the game. The concept of unlocking and choosing your own spells combo works really well, and I think I'll get back to with this update
One of the best recent twin-stick shooters, if not the best. I just can't say how much I loved it on PC and now I'm looking forward to play it to DEATH on my Switch. Buy the damn game and you'll never look back. Period.
I've seen many solid reviews for the game on PC (88% overall on Steam). I think it's a pretty fun game (again, on PC) and to me it looks like a perfect fit for my ever-growing Switch rogue-lite game library.
