Re: Nindies Showcase For Nintendo Switch Airing Next Week

RetroGamerAndrew

Well there are literally TONS of indies I'd like to have on my console, a number of which have already been announced but haven't got a release date.
In no particular order: Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Salt & Sanctuary, Valdis Story, Nuclear Throne (this one will hardly happen), Hotline Miami 1/2, Dungeon of The Endless and for God's sake DOWNWELL, this one would feel at home on any Nintendo console from original Game Boy onwards...

The problem with indies is that there are TONS of them around, so you have to be extra-picky to avoid being flooded with shovelware. If there's a good side in Nintendo eShop higher prices (compared to Steam) is that it forces you to be a little more careful with you purchases. So this is an easy "pass".

Re: Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja Punches Its Way To Switch Next Week

OM*G, I LOVE this game. I will definitely get it.

Have a little cool story about this one. I was 11, it was a lazy saturday afternoon and I was at the pub with a friend of mine. I was SO into this game that I spent ALL my weekly pocket money in about 2 hours or so (this was back in 1994, pre Euro: 10.000 italian Lire = a little more than 5 Euro). If I recall correctly, coins were 500 Lire at the time.
Needless to say my parents weren't super-happy about it. My father was SO MAD (he used to tell me not to spend all of my money at the arcades... which I always did instead) that he even started running after me, trying to kick me in the ass. I'm dead serious!

But honestly, I don't regret a thing about it.
Sorry papa'!

Re: The Flame In The Flood Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch

RetroGamerAndrew

Looked so tempting at first... But if you do the math and add taxes/shipping the price skyrockets to 37.98 pounds = about 43 euros... and as much as I love giving priority to physical release I think that's a little too much (eShop version is 14.99 euros).
My 0.02

EDIT: I'm living in Italy, I bet UK/other continental EU country shipping will be a tad less.

Re: Review: The Mummy Demastered (Switch eShop)

RetroGamerAndrew

Finished last week and I have to dissent from this review. I would give it a 6.5/10, 7/10 max. The game has stunning 16bit pixellated graphics, but that's all - gameplay-wise it leaves much to be desired. No emotional peaks, levels feels always the same to me. A little on the dull side, I was expecting much more than this. Axiom Verge is galaxies ahead.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?

RetroGamerAndrew

@Shiryu noticed your name on my friends list in Aqua Kitty, hope you're enjoying it as much as I am! See ya on the leaderboard

Back to the question, I'll be playing blazing star (when ill manage to download it!) then steredenn (rad!) And a little bit of Mario Kart, which I didn't buy at the beginning (I know, I know...)

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 8th March

RetroGamerAndrew

Honestly I didn't have many expectations but it turned out a really good Direct. The more I think about Mario Aces the more I'm thrilled about it; Okami HD & Crash took me by surprise, really glad to see them coming! Then Undertale, which means that we finally broke the barrier between switch and GameMaker games (with GM 2 Studio) and we could get some of these games: https://www.yoyogames.com/showcase
