KoF '98, Garou, Last Blade 2, Samurai Shodown 2 (and/or 4 graphics-wise) are the pinnacle of Neo-Geo fighters... anyone should have them in their collections.
Well there are literally TONS of indies I'd like to have on my console, a number of which have already been announced but haven't got a release date.
In no particular order: Dead Cells, Hollow Knight, Salt & Sanctuary, Valdis Story, Nuclear Throne (this one will hardly happen), Hotline Miami 1/2, Dungeon of The Endless and for God's sake DOWNWELL, this one would feel at home on any Nintendo console from original Game Boy onwards...
I grew up playing WH2 at the local bar but I don't know, there's always been something with WH franchise that never clicked with me. As soon as the most recent FF and KOF '94 began to show I lost any interest in them...
Amazing game, while 9 may be a little too much I think it fully deserves a 8 or even 8.5/10. A must buy! @Daftbomb You're welcome to add me, I can see me playing this for quite a long time
Honestly, I don't like this game at all. Too many rough edges, and the 2D drawing feels ordinary, if not cheap. We need HIGH(ER) QUALITY indies on our portable console.
Definitely a cool little game, just don't expect to go berserker into a swarm of zombies as many youtube videos may suggest. This is more about survival & resource handling than zombie shooting. A solid 7.5, even 8/10 for me (on PC).
The problem with indies is that there are TONS of them around, so you have to be extra-picky to avoid being flooded with shovelware. If there's a good side in Nintendo eShop higher prices (compared to Steam) is that it forces you to be a little more careful with you purchases. So this is an easy "pass".
Have a little cool story about this one. I was 11, it was a lazy saturday afternoon and I was at the pub with a friend of mine. I was SO into this game that I spent ALL my weekly pocket money in about 2 hours or so (this was back in 1994, pre Euro: 10.000 italian Lire = a little more than 5 Euro). If I recall correctly, coins were 500 Lire at the time. Needless to say my parents weren't super-happy about it. My father was SO MAD (he used to tell me not to spend all of my money at the arcades... which I always did instead) that he even started running after me, trying to kick me in the ass. I'm dead serious!
But honestly, I don't regret a thing about it. Sorry papa'!
Looked so tempting at first... But if you do the math and add taxes/shipping the price skyrockets to 37.98 pounds = about 43 euros... and as much as I love giving priority to physical release I think that's a little too much (eShop version is 14.99 euros).
My 0.02
EDIT: I'm living in Italy, I bet UK/other continental EU country shipping will be a tad less.
Finished last week and I have to dissent from this review. I would give it a 6.5/10, 7/10 max. The game has stunning 16bit pixellated graphics, but that's all - gameplay-wise it leaves much to be desired. No emotional peaks, levels feels always the same to me. A little on the dull side, I was expecting much more than this. Axiom Verge is galaxies ahead.
Wow man, this one looks a real blast! I'll grab you as soon as it reach the eShop: great visuals, roguelite, SHMUP... i mean, just tell me where I have to put my money
@Shiryu noticed your name on my friends list in Aqua Kitty, hope you're enjoying it as much as I am! See ya on the leaderboard
Back to the question, I'll be playing blazing star (when ill manage to download it!) then steredenn (rad!) And a little bit of Mario Kart, which I didn't buy at the beginning (I know, I know...)
Honestly I didn't have many expectations but it turned out a really good Direct. The more I think about Mario Aces the more I'm thrilled about it; Okami HD & Crash took me by surprise, really glad to see them coming! Then Undertale, which means that we finally broke the barrier between switch and GameMaker games (with GM 2 Studio) and we could get some of these games: https://www.yoyogames.com/showcase
@Honelith nice to hear some first hand opinions, I was skimming throug Steam reviews and it seemed to be well received. I'll definitely keep more than an eye on it then. Thanks!
I had this on my PC wishlist, it's 11.99 euro on Steam but developers said it will go up once it will be out of Early Access, so I'm expecting something like 12.99/14.99 euro.
Still unsure if I'm going to pull the trigger - should I say light the fuse? - on this though
It surely looks premium, but I can hardly justify the high price+import fees to Italy. I think my Smatree N120 (https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-N120-Carrying-Case-Nintendo-Switch/) will be good enough for a long, long time
