The beautifully-crafted Souls-like/Metroidvania action-platform game Blasphemous is receiving a Limited Run Games physical release for Switch. The title was originally published on the Switch eShop and multiple other digital platforms by Team17.
Two-week pre-orders for the standard and collectors versions open next week, on 15th November. The Collectors Edition will be priced at US$79.99.

@Team17Ltd's punishing action-platformer Blasphemous opens for a two-week pre-order on PS4 & Switch on Friday, November 15 at 10am ET.

Eh. The kid wants it.
If this was out day one i would of got it but all ready got the digital so not much point love the stuff with it but this practice is putting me off buying games on release
@TipsySonic Yeah I have not bought games on release in a while. Example, I wanted the new Steam World game when it came out but waited and now this week it will be released by SuperRare physical. Just the way it is. Not really in rush to play games right when they release though cause everybody's backlog is real.
@B-Locks true I need to learn from my mistakes haha but again it's rare I like a limited edition now I'm not a fan of steel books I like stuff to do with the game and
this one is nice with the pretty box, pin, mini sword, art book ❤️
@TipsySonic haha I'm the oposite. I will choose a limited edition only if there is a steelbook. No steelbook, then standard edition for me. All I want for limited versions are steelbooks and Soundtrack.
@B-Locks really haha that's cool tho each to there own but for me I prefer a big pretty box to a steelbox like with the astral chain limited edition the box is beautiful and big got the sound track in there and an a big art book and a pretty piece of numbered art I really am a sucker for a pretty box haha but it has to be big haha
@TipsySonic Like Valkyria Chronicles 4 BIG? haha Have no idea how big the Astral Chain was. They wouldnt ship it to US because of size so I'm sure it was pretty bulky.
Not sure how big the valkyria limited edition was but it is bigger than the big box for super metroid hehe If that helps hahaans it opens from a split in the middle it slides apart check an unboxing of it so pretty haha
Looks about the same size LxW except VC4 is 3 times deeper.
Yes! Finally! Can't wait to pre-order!
Got it digital. It is a very good game. And as it does not require a large space on me sd card there is no need for me to double dip physical.
I'm confused as to how many of the games in the E3 presentation have not come out, but lots of brand new released games are.
Was hoping for a physical of this game, shame it's with Limited Run, but will still get it.
Excellent, I've been holding out on buying the digital version as the creators implied there might be a chance for a physical release.
I’m still waiting for Blaster Master Zero from LRG. It was announced ages ago so I don’t understand how LRG prioritise their releases. Do they have a list somewhere showing the order they’re getting to things?
I'm so annoyed since I bought this game recently but will most likely double dip for the collector's edition alone, despite the high price tag and shipping.
Badass game no matter what format you choose.
@Valkian24 For me the shipping is rather nice. To EU it is 15$ as opposed to Fangamer which is almost 40$ to the same location.
God, I love the digital age. Since then I have so much more space in my house. I have over 300 games now for my Switch and just 24 physical. Of course no limited or special or another dust collector edition. Since I sold the biggest part of my collection I feel much more free.
And Blasphemous was a big disappointment to me. It looks gorgeous, but the game is boring like Hollow Knight and Dead Cells.
@LordVal ''but the game is boring like Hollow Knight and Dead Cells''.
Oh I'm on the fence but your comment is pushing me to buy it. Sounds great!
@Dahn_ you're welcome!
@B-Locks agree. The zelda collection was pretty good but no soundtrack was a ain, especially as all the music was redone.
Why limited run. Why. Just release on fkn amazon for fk's sake.
It's an awesome metroidvania game. If you like a little bit the atmosphere and the genre, you ought to give it a shot. Physical or digital.
Of course it doesn't get to the levels of goodness from games like Hollow Knight or Monster Boy, but It won't let you down. Period.
@Zeuseksy The creators said they will likely do that, but they need more time, go step by step. The game just released, so we need to be patient with these indie games.
@the_beaver Fair enough then. I'll gladly buy the physical edition once it's on other stores than LRG.
@the_beaver Cheers for that. I checked out the Limited Games website and apparently they charge 15 dollars for shipment to the UK, which is nearly the price the game is itself on the eshop I'll wait a bit longer in that case.
I want to pick this up at some point, but i'm probably ok with digital since I don't want to pay the extra cost for physical.
@Dahn_
It’s super dope. You will need to count on the internet for some things, but it’s mostly properly executed Metroidvania with a super accurate vibe of Late Middle Ages Spanish Catholicism and all of that pain and penitence and blood atonement business.
@Zuljaras Yeah but the exchange rates also hurt it which sucks.
@Valkian24 I know I use paypal and going from my currency to USD is taxing
But I can't resist and I want to play the game so badly!
@Zuljaras From what I've played of it so far, it's pretty great but quite challenging as one would expect from a soulslike game but the combat is more responsive.
