Re: Aksys is Bringing Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories to the 3DS This Year

Sure hope this game have a physical release.

I remember Jake Hunter was a pretty good one too along the same lines of interactive detective pulp novel. Was Trace Memory any good? There are a ton of them going for dirt cheap at my local EB Games.

I also hope they will consider releasing Last Window to the North American market - they did re-release 999 for 3DS so I haven't given up hope!

Re: Wii U Version Of Road Redemption Being "Re-Evaluated"

RedFinch

I don't like how they are issuing a statement stating they don't want to go down like Mighty No.9 or the other game, it's not classy and also I think disingenuous - the real reason I think is that they fear it won't sell well on Wii U and not worth the extra effort developing it for Wii U. It would have been better and more professional for them to just say they have taken a different direction and will be focusing on PS4, XB One and PC and leave it at that than make excuses. Let's see how good their game actually turns out. It better be good, or at least better than Mighty No. 9.

@NinChocolate

These days, amongst other things, Banpresto makes awesome statuette figures from fan favorite anime (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Pokemon) that you can win as prizes in 'claw' games (similar to Badge Arcade) in Japan. I have collected quite a few of them over the years.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Will Have amiibo Support

RedFinch

I think the concept for Fed Force was taken from the Metroid game in Nintendo Land. My kids used to love playing it because it was the most violent game I allowed them to play back then and they had hours of fun playing it together. Nintendo probably thought, 'this formula works! Let's design an entire 3DS game around this!'

@DrJon216

Actually, part of me is dreading playing this game. Killing zombies is just A-okay for me, but ghost movies/games and witch/demonic possession themed stuff mess me up for weeks and sometimes years. I'm sort of questioning myself why I want to own this. I think it's partly due to the hype train.

@Cestius
Hi, thanks for the info, I'm a bit disappointed in that, but not a chance of me cancelling my preorder. When you first said due to limitations, my first thought was that it's a visual novel, but I guess there's a lot of cut scenes and voice acting.

Re: Video: Get a Good Look At Zero Time Dilemma on 3DS

RedFinch

I agree, there would be some gameplay elements I'm sure that will benefit from the dual screens. Also, don't forget, 3DS = stereoscopic 3D which is the trade off for HD goodness. Also, since I've got the first two parts for DS/3DS as well, I wouldn't get this for Vita now. Unless there are some clues you will miss because of the muddier graphics, 3DS will be just fine with me.

Re: The Legend of Zelda Will Have Its Own Range of Trading Cards

RedFinch

Really need to see some of the cards themselves to decide.

I recently bought two packs of Dragonball Z game cards - they featured generic stills and screenshots from the Dragonball Z cartoons - the card stock wasn't great either so they were overall pretty crappy and it was an easy decision to not buy anymore.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

RedFinch

Wow, I bought LTTP for SNES a few years ago for a pretty penny but never bothered to hook up the system and finally play it. I'm playing the 3DS download and I'm hooked! Maybe I'm getting old now, but damn this game gets hard!

Re: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth Coming To Wii U "In The Coming Months"

@TheHeroOfTime333
It's a great, great game, very satisfying and ultra addictive once you get the hang of it. It's a shooter, and you kill abominations that are randomly generated with your tears and pick up random power ups.

It's gross, violent and bloody, and has satanic imagery, all with this 'cute' chibi look to it. I am STILL playing the N3DS version constantly (it only works for N3DS).

Re: Review: Witch & Hero 2 (3DS eShop)

RedFinch

I played the demo of the first one and it was a bit simplistic, but I thought it was charming. I guess when you compare it with other offerings out there... it seems a bit lacking. But the price tag isn't very steep either, so NL reviewers may want to keep in mind these aren't marquis triple-A titles. You can have a great time with 8 bit Zelda as much as Twilight Princess.
