Holy cow, this is just European eShop, but it doesn't bode well for NA eShop... usually I can find at least one discounted game I'm interested in, but it looks really weak this week.
I remember Jake Hunter was a pretty good one too along the same lines of interactive detective pulp novel. Was Trace Memory any good? There are a ton of them going for dirt cheap at my local EB Games.
I also hope they will consider releasing Last Window to the North American market - they did re-release 999 for 3DS so I haven't given up hope!
I don't like how they are issuing a statement stating they don't want to go down like Mighty No.9 or the other game, it's not classy and also I think disingenuous - the real reason I think is that they fear it won't sell well on Wii U and not worth the extra effort developing it for Wii U. It would have been better and more professional for them to just say they have taken a different direction and will be focusing on PS4, XB One and PC and leave it at that than make excuses. Let's see how good their game actually turns out. It better be good, or at least better than Mighty No. 9.
These days, amongst other things, Banpresto makes awesome statuette figures from fan favorite anime (One Piece, Dragon Ball, Pokemon) that you can win as prizes in 'claw' games (similar to Badge Arcade) in Japan. I have collected quite a few of them over the years.
I think the concept for Fed Force was taken from the Metroid game in Nintendo Land. My kids used to love playing it because it was the most violent game I allowed them to play back then and they had hours of fun playing it together. Nintendo probably thought, 'this formula works! Let's design an entire 3DS game around this!'
Actually, part of me is dreading playing this game. Killing zombies is just A-okay for me, but ghost movies/games and witch/demonic possession themed stuff mess me up for weeks and sometimes years. I'm sort of questioning myself why I want to own this. I think it's partly due to the hype train.
I agree, I think the figures are completely unnecessary and look like a couple of generic unoriginal sailor schoolgirls... but then again, I haven't played Corpse Party before and maybe my opinion will change afterwards.
@Cestius Hi, thanks for the info, I'm a bit disappointed in that, but not a chance of me cancelling my preorder. When you first said due to limitations, my first thought was that it's a visual novel, but I guess there's a lot of cut scenes and voice acting.
@Jewelz1797 Sorry for a late reply, this is a download title only. You can buy it from the Nintendo online eShop that you access through the 3DS itself.
I agree, there would be some gameplay elements I'm sure that will benefit from the dual screens. Also, don't forget, 3DS = stereoscopic 3D which is the trade off for HD goodness. Also, since I've got the first two parts for DS/3DS as well, I wouldn't get this for Vita now. Unless there are some clues you will miss because of the muddier graphics, 3DS will be just fine with me.
@Kirk @Magrane Yes, that Kickstarter sequel looks awesome! I have room in my life for both.
I wonder if the game will ever come out on a Nintendo console though (especially N3DS), as that's probably the only chance I would ever get to play the heck out of it.
@Magrane You're welcome! It got poor reviews, but I think it's a 'misunderstood' game. It isn't that deep and there isn't a lot to see. But if you go into it with the mindset that this is similar to River City Ransom with a medieval theme, I think you'll enjoy your time with it.
Awesome! I'm a big fan and getting for sure. Also, I recommend Sword and Darkness for 3DS eShop, you play as a knight who looks suspiciously like Kunio. It's a short, sweet, inexpensive and underrated eShop gem that is made by the same Aksys Games.
I had fun with the demo, but seems I have less rhythm than I thought! The game is mega expensive for Canadians as well. I will keep a sharp eye out for a deal down the road - in the meantime, I will turn to Rhythm Thief and Theatrhythm for my Rhythm gaming needs.
I hate to say it, but I believe this gen is pretty much over for Nintendo. Still, I think they will go out with a huge bang with Zelda and I can't wait to read about it tomorrow.
The writing I'm sure will be fine, it's the Mega Man design I dislike. And therefore, I probably won't go out of my way to locate the show to watch it.
It's the eyes... they're not round enough or innocent-looking enough... that's not the Mega Man we know... please, go back to the drawing board, I want to support this but not when the Blue Bomber looks so half-baked!
I watched a video of Alien Syndrome recently and I must admit it wasn't quite as good as I remembered it as a kid, sinking quarter after quarter into the arcade. Unlike some of the other Sega Classics, I don't think Alien Syndrome has aged very well.
Really need to see some of the cards themselves to decide.
I recently bought two packs of Dragonball Z game cards - they featured generic stills and screenshots from the Dragonball Z cartoons - the card stock wasn't great either so they were overall pretty crappy and it was an easy decision to not buy anymore.
LOL, I would seriously buy ALL of those Nintendo games, plus Yakuza 5. I don't know anything about the Atelier games, but if they are JRPGs, I'll probably skip them as I never finish them.
@abbyhitter There was an earlier article last week here that explained things a bit clearer. There was a Humble Bundle package last year too which I supported as well.
@abbyhitter Go to the Humble Bundle site and donate the money to them. They email you a link that you can access - there you get the codes which you use on eShop.
Wow, I bought LTTP for SNES a few years ago for a pretty penny but never bothered to hook up the system and finally play it. I'm playing the 3DS download and I'm hooked! Maybe I'm getting old now, but damn this game gets hard!
Other than Animal Crossing (which I have no interest in), I have most of the Amiibos and have opened up most of them; I just avoid getting the same characters and repaints, so it will be no to the repainted Squid, Boy & Girl set, but a hell yes for the sisters.
I should also say, if Afterbirth ever came out on 3DS, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it as well. As for the Wii U, well, I bought Don't Starve and found I never play it, I like my Big N games for the big screen.
@TheHeroOfTime333 It's a great, great game, very satisfying and ultra addictive once you get the hang of it. It's a shooter, and you kill abominations that are randomly generated with your tears and pick up random power ups.
It's gross, violent and bloody, and has satanic imagery, all with this 'cute' chibi look to it. I am STILL playing the N3DS version constantly (it only works for N3DS).
I played the demo of the first one and it was a bit simplistic, but I thought it was charming. I guess when you compare it with other offerings out there... it seems a bit lacking. But the price tag isn't very steep either, so NL reviewers may want to keep in mind these aren't marquis triple-A titles. You can have a great time with 8 bit Zelda as much as Twilight Princess.

Cool! I'll pick up a copy the next time I'm in the store. I also have the Jake Hunter follow up as well.
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try
Deus Ex!
Oh, I also enjoyed Devil's Third as well, but probably because there aren't too many of this type of game for Wii U.

Re: Axiom Verge Creator is Looking into a 3DS Port
I would LOVE to see this game on N3DS, even more so than on Wii U. Portable gaming is where it's at for me these days.

Yes, looks like a tribute to Snake, and the girl is Motoko from Ghost in the Shell, complete with purple hair.
