@Agramonte yeah they tried that with Odyssey and as decent as Odyssey was, it just didn't do well as streaming only game for the Switch. Which really, isn't a bad thing.
Personally i wouldn't touch them either and i could be wrong, but i think im in a clear majority on this one, especially when it comes to the Switch.
I mean, a dead give away is the absolute radio silence you get after one of these games drops. If they were some huge runaway success, you would know about it.
If even 10% of Switch owners streamed Odyssey on the Switch, Ubisoft would have made some noise about that, they'd have put Valhalla and every other AC game for the last 6 years on the Switch available to stream. But that didn't happen.
@TheLightSpirit i know this is UK only, but it's not just the British though, FIFA does well around Europe, better in Britain than anywhere else in Europe though.
@Wexter yeah i think it's actually just shy of a million, the last count was 700k but that was a few months after the 2nd game released on the Switch, it's probably a million now or close too, which yeah it's still a fair number.
But when you consider that an old Wii U port that is quite possibly the worst Mario Platforming game ever made has sold more than 8x as many just on the Switch alone.
"That hurts", would be an understatement.
I'm just hoping the 3rd game lives up to all the demand. 5m+.
GTA 5 would be great but i really think at this point, it's quite clear that Rockstar never actually had any intention of putting any support or effort on any Nintendo platform.
Gave us a token old badly ported game more than 3 years ago just to say "look we did it and they didn't buy it".
Kinda disappointed in them for not putting more effort on the system, the install base is there and GTA 5 on the go would easily shift a few million games and even a few million consoles - that game on Switch would definitely bring in more buyers.
Anyway it's a fantasy at this stage, definitely will not happen.
The situation from Kamiya's perspective is kinda like this. "I've put Bayonetta 2 on two systems with a combined install base of 80+ million and it hasn't even sold 1m units... on BOTH consoles"
"And i constantly have people asking me where the 3rd game is..."
You know deep down the man must be kinda pissed.
I mean if it got cancelled, i wouldn't even blame him, I'd be interested to know how many people are sitting there without a copy of the second game on either a Switch or Wii U, wondering why we haven't had the 3rd game yet.
That would take some audacity, just to know, you don't own the second game and you'd complain about not getting the 3rd game.
To put this into perspective, Astral Chain has sold more than Bayonetta 2, so from a purely financial point of view, there is much more incentive to make a sequel to Astral Chain over Bayonetta.
@GilbertXI personally i don't care about getting a release date or having a rushed game.
I just want to see some progress. If they want to maintain interest in the franchise then we need to see some tangible progress.
The game was announced in December 2017, but one would think that it had probably been in development before it was announced (one would think, but developers these days are ass backwards in everything they do).
So if that is indeed the case, then the game has been cooking for nearly 4 years, now lets say they didn't put their big teams on the project until they were done with everything else.
That still means we should see the game at least in 2021, but they've generated no hype for the series at all. Which is a big wasted opportunity, you don't want Cyberpunk levels of hype but you want more hype than what we got for Astral Chain.
I mean that situation is terrible, Astral Chain is probably one of the best exclusive games on the system and it has less sales than old Wii U ports. That happened because no hype at all.
You don't want to create a Cyberpunk situation but at the same time, you don't want to create an Astral Chains situation, where NOBODY really knows about the game and it barely scrapes past 1 million sales on an install base of 70+ million.
Someone got me this for my Birthday earlier in the month, this and Need For Speed, i hate EA but i can't refuse gifts, that would be bad form.
I took them and played this for 10 minutes.
This game is dog doo doo, no matter how well it runs, you just drive around looking for stuff to do, it's devoid of life and actual fun past 1 hour. No actual customization options either.
I've said this before, personally i think Astral Chain was meant to be Bayonetta but they probably decided they wanted to take a different direction with Bayonetta, so instead of scraping what they had already made, they reskinned it and called it "Astral Chain".
This actually does happen a lot more than people think, developers start a project, ideas get added over the years and the product might end up entirely different from the original idea, sometimes the developers stick with that and sometimes they don't.
In this case, my theory is they decided to just restart development on Bayonetta and give us Astral Chain. Which did just come out of the blue to begin with. And is in the exact same genre of action hack and slash.
I've no actual proof to back up what i say but it would certainly explain why we haven't seen anything about the game since it was announced. But instead about 15 months after it was first announced we get a totally different game. That is also an action hack and slash...
The pieces fit. Admitting to that would also mean he could pipe down about the quarterly "ItS GoINg WeLl" posts.
@damien33ad yeah i know but i'm not concerned with what others think of my opinion, i'm not here to make friends, just here to give opinions on the topics. but yeah like @ChromaticDracula said, maybe i should have worded it differently to begin with.
@PBandSmelly oh so now its "Transfobic" to point out when a man has an operation to change themselves into a woman...?
You people have genuinely lost your minds with this "woke" culture.
I have no problem with Trans people but I'm not going to alter my perception of reality to cater to anyones needs.
The person USE to be a man and turned themselves into a woman... I have no problem with the fact that they did that. But they did that. Now how they felt inside isn't my concern and isn't related to my point, biologically though, that person was a male.
I won't convince myself that they didn't do that to fit your twisted narrative of whats acceptable to you.
@nessisonett you should re-read what i said because i wasn't directing my "not normal people" to the males who married into the family, which obviously at one point included Jenner (are you that much of an Sjw that you misunderstand posts to fit your narrative?)
The females in that family are not normal. Are you trying to tell me that Kim Kardashian and her biological family are normal? Lol the year has nothing to do with being a nutcase. You can't SJW crazy ass.
Okay sorry i know this is an old review but the review is actually way off the mark, i mean in terms of gameplay this is really fun, it runs very smooth and honestly doesn't take nearly as long to unlock decent wrestlers, as this review makes out.
You can easily ignore the micro transactions and have tons of fun on this game.
You can't give NBA 2k 21 an 8 out of 10 and give this a 4. NBA 2K 21 deserves 8 but to be honest so does this game here, or at least a 7.
Quite a few of the later comments here seem to point to what im saying, this game was unfairly reviewed, its a lot better than a 4.
Edit: i forgot about my comment from before, i was playing this game again and realised again how good it was and how unfair this review was.
It's a solid game to be fair, 7.5 out of 10 easily. It's slightly better looking elsewhere but really that's a small sacrifice to make to have it portable and the only downgrade is the graphics. In terms of everything else, it's all there and certainly worth the money.
Easily 50-60 hours of content here which is worth their asking price.
I enjoyed this game but it wasn't one of my favourites, in fact it's actually one of my least favourites, i did still enjoy it enough to complete it (twice in fact, once on the N64 and another time like some 14 or so years later on the 3DS).
I actually preferred Phantom Hourglass to be honest. Overall though i love my Zelda games so regardless, i rate this above a good 70% of other games i have ever played, despite the fact that it's still one of my least favourite Zelda games.
Skyward Sword is by far my least favourite. First Zelda game i didn't finish because i hated the motion controls.
@TheLightSpirit looks make a huge impact because if they didn't we could just play games with dots on a screen because "looks and graphics" don't matter.
"How about them space invaders eh?"
No, it matters, totally turns some people off, so imagine playing space invaders...
That's how bored i would feel playing a game that i thought looked ridiculous. I can play for maybe one hour (like space invaders). But i won't spend all my time and i won't spend what they will be asking for.
There's a reason why graphics and visuals are getting better. To a lot of people it matters.
These characters look ridiculous and the entire premise is a generic JRPG you can make with one of those old schools JRPG generators.
I purchased a lot of games in 2020 but many were not made in 2020 (like DQ11) or they were old ports.

It's been dry this year and next year has one game on my radar, MH rise, hopefully they stealth drop something but i won't be holding my breath.
This game is awesome, I've poured 75 hours into it. I must admit that i won't ever 100% it, it's so hard after you beat it the first time. I've tried though, so many times 🤣.
@Zidentia the problem is, as im sure you can see, there's hardly a big demand for people getting together locally and playing video games.
Nintendo have kinda capped their own knees here, because by not having a more robust online infrastructure to play online games with friends or strangers, they've removed a lot of value from many of their games, especially this year.
Taking that approach of only catering to the local market is very short sighted and this year proves how it isn't a sustainable model anymore.
It's all great wanted families and friends to enjoy games together but when and if that ever returns to the way it use to be before remains to be seen.
Nintendo need to prepare (they should have been prepared really) for an eventuality that it may not return to normal, not saying it definitely wouldn't, but a multi billion dollar company cannot take such a large risk on a "maybe".
It's time they started doing a proper online service, like it or not, thats how the market will be in this post Covid world.
Realistically, he's probably going to retire soon (2-3 years). I would imagine that's why he's mentioned this to begin with. Get people prepared for when he calls it quits. It's a tough gig he has and he's already been the elder statesmen of the industry for years.
When you jump on that Goomba's head and flatten him like a pancake, you are forgetting the little Goomba he leaves behind, who now has to sit in front of the TV on his own without big daddy Goomba to play with him.
@Krull those ideologies worked before but in a post Covid world, having access to proper Internet services are more important than ever.
I can't play Smash with my friends right now and who knows when I'll be able, Nintendo's Internet infrastructure is ill fit to provide proper online gaming experiences.
Doesn't matter if it's done deliberately or not, it's not good for us. Especially not now.
Hopefully someone as good as he is at making great games, but also better than he is at understanding how the Internet works, in particular online gaming.
@vio maybe they aren’t as good as they use to be, Nintendo cracked down hard on them a couple of years back.
But from what i recall, there use to be emulators that are just as good as the one Nintendo has for the NSO and had extra features the NSO one doesn't have.
Maybe now they might have been hunted down by Nintendo's legal goons. But before there use to be much better alternatives.
I guess thats why Nintendo hunted them down, so they could feed us this sub par junk.
Hey man if you want to convince yourself that the chocolate cake they sell you pre packaged from the factory is better than the one a mother cooks, don't let me stop you.
@vio ok shill, lap up your Nintendo flavoured rubbish all you want. At this stage anyone who genuinely defends this service are delusional people.
Most of us are over these 30 year old games, try actually reading the comments... if they please you then all the more power to you. Most of us however, have higher standards.
Nintendo's NSO is an absolute joke. And the butt of the jokes are those who are still defending it.
I love how this game needs content and has more sales but instead the content goes to a 2 year old fighting game that is a bit over the hill now.
This was what i meant in my other comment on the Smash content we just got.
Nintendo are doing things ass backwards right now and it's just frustrating to see, updating tools that nobody uses, adding content to a 2 year old game.
And adding no content to this game (by the way, i don't play this game but i have played the other game, I'm approaching this from prospective that doesn't benefit only me), plus everything else they've been doing to antagonise various communities within their eco system.
It's just surprising to watch them make so many missteps this year.
I think Nintendo make new hardware concepts all the time, they probably have a console on par with the PS5/Xbox whatever, but it's just a concepts, a prototype that will never really see the light of day.
I would imagine that the very early idea for the Switch probably came all the way back in the 90s when they had the little cartridges for the SNES that could play GameBoy games on your TV.
I also imagine that if they went ahead an announced a Pro right now, it would dip their current console sale momentum so at the very least, we won't be getting that news this side of Christmas.

If you've ever used any of those you wouldn't find the sub par one Nintendo has got at all interesting.
Re: Reminder: We're Getting Our First Look At Sephiroth In Smash Bros. Ultimate Today
@Bizaster and you seem to love making stupid replies without reading anything that was written.
How can you play a game for 120 hours and hate it? Do you even realise how long 120 hours is?
My point is, it's an old ass game, one new character won't entice me to pick this up and play it.
Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online SNES And NES Service With Five More Titles
Re: Random: Man Accidentally Names Nephew After A Pokémon
I will have 3 children.
The first will be named Abra
The second will be Kadabra
The third will be Alakazam
Re: Random: Miyamoto Confirms That He Is, In Fact, Mario And Luigi's Father
So that means having used his hands and his imagination to help create his children.
I'm guessing the right hand is the mother then?
😉
Re: Reminder: Buy DOOM Eternal Early On Switch To Get DOOM 64 And 'Rip And Tear' Pack Free
@Friendly painful but expected.
The long delay
The radio silence
The last minute killing physical
Charging £50 while it's below £20 on other hardware that looks much better.
It's almost as if they did everything they could to make sure the game fails.
Re: Nintendo's Doug Bowser Discusses The Future Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Re: Nintendo Releases 'Swapnote Remastered' Update, Despite Killing The App Seven Years Ago
@HeadPirate it's actually died down quite a lot since you last went there but yeah it was very popular at one stage
Re: Nintendo Is "Always Looking" At New Tech, But Refuses To Be Drawn On Switch Pro Rumours
Re: Reminder: We're Getting Our First Look At Sephiroth In Smash Bros. Ultimate Today
@HeyItsFlapjack yeah because im certainly the only one who is fed up of not having any meaningful content given to us for the whole of 2020.
The ONLY good game this year was Hades.
The game awards was the last chance Nintendo had to announce something worth announcing.
Instead we get ONE character on a 2 year old game that 21 million people already own.
Yeah i am definitely the only one fed up with Nintendo.
On a separate topic, i want whatever you are smoking.
