Never played any FF game but I can at least name Cloud and Sepheroth, they're that iconic, so I very much look forward to my favorite game having that much more value attached to it even if he wasn't even on my radar before. I'm feeling more and more like Robotnik may be one of the final 3, with villains being a heavy theme this gen.

I've already spent 120 hours on this game, one character who likely plays similarly to another character already in the game, won't make me turn this game on.

It barely works online and the single player content doesn't carry this game as far as Nintendo are flogging the horse.

They've usually been pretty good about streaming these at people hours, but not this time. I'm going to have to watch this sometime later, hoping so much for the insta release.

@SpaceboyScreams Admittedly, Eggman never crossed my mind as a fighter, but that actually would be a good pick. I would certainly be interested to see how that works.

In relation to Sephiroth, I have no special attachment as I have not played any of the Final Fantasy games. In terms of this presentation, as silly as it sounds, I find myself more curious about the Mii Fighter costumes.

@SpaceboyScreams Robotnik would be a good choice. He’d probably be in one of his end level boss machines. With all the attachments they’ve had over the years there would be lots of possibilities for special moves.

Sephiroth was an excellent choice. Will be using him a lot. I think all the third party characters have another from their world that would be a good fit.

If others are still fixated on this one 2 year old game when there's so many more on the console then yeah sure, knock yourself out.

I honestly couldn't care less about this news though, i certainly don't think it's big enough news to warrant a place at the Game Awards.

The game was fun but it's had its time. Nintendo can give us NEW content instead of flogging this 2 year old horse.

I feel like he'll launch today or tomorrow. Otherwise they would have probably already given his release date properly I would imagine, seeing how close to his release he was even announced.

But I'm also guessing they'll show the Geno Mii costume and release Super Mario RPG alongside that as a celebration of this collaboration.

And Chocobo Band release their version of One Winged Angel... perfect timing

I enjoyed Ultimate, for 120 hours. But I'm over it not. The game has been done.

@TheLightSpirit yeah it can be overwhelming to play technically, which must be why its gathered such a competitive audience. i just think fans can be too on board with nintendo strict rules like lack of connection to fans. like "yeah nintendo you show those hardcore fans!" but is.. is that really a good thing? i dont even play melee but its daunting how disconnecting nintendo is from everything despite their success

Razer is the type of guy who gets so worked up about his opinions and defensive when others don't agree with them. Most of his comments are negative and complaining, rants about EA and how no one should support their games no matter what, or how he is over some game despite the fact that there are people who are clearly not.

The ONLY good game this year was Hades.

The game awards was the last chance Nintendo had to announce something worth announcing.

Instead we get ONE character on a 2 year old game that 21 million people already own.

@Razer I’m fed up with them as well. I feel like I invested in hot air. Nintendo sprinted to the finish line, now they are just gonna coast on Switch’s success, without adding anything meaningful to it. I’m certain that the rumored sequels that everyone is anticipating will show up on their next console, not this one.

@Razer No DLC fighter has played even remotely similar to any character before them. For people with IRL friends this game feels as fresh as it did 2 years ago. Watch streams on YouTube of people's reactions to the last several character reveals, your theory that people are "over it" is sorely misinformed. People aren't over Minecraft or Fortnite or several other hugely popular long running series, it's almost like some games reward you for your time investment.
I'm sorry you didn't get more video games this year. Maybe Santa will bring you one of the thousands of great old games you've surely never played before.

@Razer Think you would be surprised at how many people actively play and follow this game, my co workers and I (7 of us) have been playing everyday at lunch for almost 2 years, Jan. will be our 2 year anniversary and can tell you we are pretty pumped any time a new character comes out for smash.

@The-Chosen-one @Miztic1 Ayy glad to see some fellow hardcore smashers around here! Same for me, before the lockdown there was always Smash happening at lunch and on Friday evening at work! Now we haven't been playing as much since we're working from home but we still play every week online!

I think people like Razer saying such things just don't have anyone to play with so they just can't understand. Playing alone offline or against random people online grows boring real quick.
