Re: Poll: Is The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Good Enough Value Yet?

RamrodDestroyer

NSO as a whole is pretty lackluster. Paying for P2P is pretty much a joke, but at least that's only $20. Asking people to pay the same amount as playstation or Xbox for the expansion pack is ridiculous. With the others, you get online servers which greatly improves the quality of online. You also get free current-gen games as opposed to some 20-25 year old games

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Officially Revealed, Launches This September

RamrodDestroyer

I haven't had a chance to read all of the comments, but after reading a few, here are some of my thoughts. This is not made for everybody obviously. This is for people who want a pure portable experience. If this was able to be used in a dock, what would differentiate it from the regular switch. I guarantee there are many out there that will never use the dock and that $199 price tag will be much more tempting for them. I bet having the controls built in, instead of removable will also make this much more durable as well.

Re: UK Charts Reveal That Just 1% Of FIFA 19 Sales Were On Switch, Physical Launch Sales Tumble

RamrodDestroyer

I wonder what percent of Switch owners bought their's digitally, and where that number stands in terms of overall sales. Since the Switch is a portable system, and like people have said, sports games don't have really any resale value, i bet the majority of the people that bought it on Switch bought it digitally. From what the article says, these numbers are only physical sales.

Also, I personally thought that FIFA 18 on Switch was pretty great. It's probably my most played game on the system. Sure, it doesn't have everything the other systems have, but being able to play a true FIFA game on the go is truly magical.

Re: FIFA 18's Free World Cup Mode Arrives On May 29th

RamrodDestroyer

Not sure how many people here actually bought FIFA 18 for the Switch, but I've put many, many hours into it. Ya, it sucks that we don't get everything the PS4/XBONE versions have, but I still think it's a pretty great game. I don't think they have any right selling it for full price, but I'm more than happy with the $30 i spent on it.

Re: Pop Star Agency Sim Idol Manager Could Make It To Switch If Its Kickstarter Hits $50K

RamrodDestroyer

One of the goals:

"$9,000 - Mature content

While the base game will allow you to engage in scandalous activities with your idols, we still have to leave a lot to your imagination. Hitting this stretch goal will let us expand this part of the game with significantly more content and art. "

Oh boy. Is this gonna be one of them Sakura games that I definitely did not pay $1 for in a humble bundle?

Re: A Hat In Time Developer Confirms The Time Travel Platformer Won't Leap Onto Switch

RamrodDestroyer

@SBandy My point is that if they made people believe that it was going to come out on Wii U, then they should have the understanding that if it doesn't, people will be upset/badger them. They can't get upset over it, because they accepted that possibility when they said "Rest assured that we'll do everything to get on the Wii U!" I know it's not a definitive "It's gonna be on Wii U", but it sure was meant to get peoples hopes up.

Re: A Hat In Time Developer Confirms The Time Travel Platformer Won't Leap Onto Switch

RamrodDestroyer

@SBandy I'm sorry, but your comment is pretty ignorant. I'm lucky enough to have a switch and a PS4, but obviously not every person can own every console. Yes, if you want to be able to buy every single game, you'll have to buy every console, but some people just can't afford that.

I'm a programmer and I understand that it's not as simple as copy and paste, but one of the big issues here is that they mentioned a Wii U port multiple times during the Kickstarter. If they weren't sure about being able to port it to the Wii U, then they shouldn't have even mentioned it. Since they did, they should have expected a lot of people to be upset when it didn't make it. Also, it's a game heavily inspired by retro Nintendo games, so naturally people are going to want it on a Nintendo console.

Lastly, you coming in here and telling people that they aren't real fans because they're not able to afford a console that it's on just makes you look like a jerk. Just an FYI.

Re: Soon You'll Be Able To Give Your Switch A Whopping 512GB Of Extra Storage

RamrodDestroyer

@AlexOlney @Rayquaza2510 @QwertyQwerty Just to clear some stuff up. You may know it already, but you may not. Read/Write speed is measured in MB(megabytes) per second. Internet speed is measured in Mb(megabits) per second. 1 MB = 8Mb, so 10MB = 80Mb. So for the read speed to even matter, you'd have to at least get a consistent 80Mb/s download. Even if you get more than that, I can guarentee that the Eshop has a bandwith cap on it, and I would be surprised if it was more than 80-100 Mb. Writing saves is such a small amount of data that it shouldn't even be brought into the conversation. So to summarize, getting an SD card with a write speed more than 10Mb/s really isn't helping you at all on the switch.

Re: A Hat in Time Could Be Appearing on the Switch in the Future

RamrodDestroyer

@RainDripp @TheSpeedyMouse Thanks for the link. This game looks like it could be real good. Glad to see an indie game looking so gorgeous. Will definitely look at picking this one up

P.S. @SwitchVogel, could you look at updating the picture? This game looks so much better than it does in that picture. Thank you.

Re: Reaction: Nintendo Shakes Up E3 With No NX and a Focus on Legend of Zelda

RamrodDestroyer

I agree with what Damien said. Nintendo needs to build some hardcore hype for this thing after the unfortunate failure of the Wii U ( I love my Wii U, but there's no denying it was a failure ). E3 is still the best way to reach the most gamers and build the most hype. With all the excitement at E3, the hype is multiplied by 10. I also believe that releasing it in the spring of 2017 is a mistake, as there really is no way to build hype for it. The Nintendo Directs are great, but they are only watched by the more hardcore Nintendo fans and won't reach the broad audience.

TLDR: Nintendo really needs to build some hardcore NX hype among the mass of gamers, and E3 is really the best way to do that.

EDIT: To be more specific, they need to build hype for the launch. Building hype a couple months after the launch will not have the same effect

Re: Unity Support on New Nintendo 3DS is Now Available to Developers

RamrodDestroyer

To the people saying buying a new 3ds isn't worth it, I don't completely agree with that. If you already have a 3ds, yes it is questionable on whether to upgrade or not, although the new 3D is AMAZING. If you do not currently own a 3DS, then you should totally still buy one. Yes, the life cycle may be coming to an end, but the catalog of older 3DS games is 1) Enormous 2) Totally Amazing. There are enough games in there to keep you occupied for a year or two.
