Re: Nintendo Treehouse Staffer Talks Localisation, Voice Acting And Playing Non-Nintendo Games For Research

Platypus101

@russellohh seriously? I didn't disagree with you... This is all you buddy. If you wanna change your profile. Fine by me. No need to do that... I read profiles to make sure I don't state something ignorant (like I did earlier... Once I found out you were a video game maker, I took my statement back) and to make sure I'm not arguing with 12 year olds... I seriously apologize for going through information you made public... That is not trolling, it's sincere. Act like the 31 year old you are, and get over it. You were right, why can't you accept that?

Re: Nintendo Treehouse Staffer Talks Localisation, Voice Acting And Playing Non-Nintendo Games For Research

Platypus101

@russellohh no. No he doesn't have a point. Did you really just simplify all of Nintendo's games into two of the most basic titles? Ouch. Also, playing a game is also used to see what you DON'T want in your game as well, not just to copy... by your argument, all PS/ XB games should all be very similar to Mario games, since without their initial creation to "copy from" CoD and Bioshock could never have existed... Seriously, that's just silly.

Re: Nintendo Treehouse Staffer Talks Localisation, Voice Acting And Playing Non-Nintendo Games For Research

Platypus101

@FragRed learn to read! The article clearly states the following: "Pranger also says that Nintendo has an extensive game library where employees can sample titles on rival formats to ensure they are well-versed in modern gaming trends..." Well-Versed does not mean research for a game. If a McDonalds sends its employees to try a Whopper at Burger King, it does not mean that McDonalds is planning on making a Whopper... Geez kids!

Re: Nintendo Stock Value Rises Following Better Than Expected Sales, Amid Calls For A Speedy Leadership Decision

Platypus101

@TheRealThanos @XCWarrior with all due respect (to both of you as well as the Japanese culture) that we all have to remember that this is still a Japanese company. They will not tolerate a big shake up, regardless of how much money is to be made... It's just not their way. They will more than likely pick from their ranks and "steer the course" as it were. 😕

Re: Nintendo Stock Value Rises Following Better Than Expected Sales, Amid Calls For A Speedy Leadership Decision

Platypus101

@XCWarrior no... The only people calling for his resignation were gamers (not business folk, not Board members, just some folk that waste time posting hate) on this site along with other forums... All of them not investors or even knowledgeable in business (and no, owning stocks does not make you knowledgable)... All because they didn't like The way a game looked, or that a game was late to the market... The investors were quite happy before he passed away. Let's not forget, that although the Wii U was not as successful as we would like it to be, the 3DS more than makes up for it. This is not just about home consoles any longer. Mobile is where it's at, Iwata saw that, and changed accordingly. And if they wanted Iwata out so bad as you stated, why didn't they just vote him out?

Re: Nintendo NX Might Be The First Social VR Platform, Claims Analyst Firm Digi-Capital

Platypus101

@JamesCoote I think the next gen of consoles may be able to produce an effect that will be enjoyable by all. as for the PS4 /XB1 crowd, that is the majority of the gaming community, many of whom have spilled into the Ninty crowd, thus infecting them with the "More power! No Gimmicks!" mentality. I absolutely love my Wii and my Wii U (in fact the reason I bought them was due to the unique controller) and have yet to buy another console this generation. Hoping all this NX talk won't sink her too soon and force my hand into buying the PS4 (I don't love the exclusives, but it has the largest install base amongst my friends)

Re: Nintendo NX Might Be The First Social VR Platform, Claims Analyst Firm Digi-Capital

Platypus101

@JamesCoote try closer to 10 years... As long as conventional games make money, there is really no reason for them to go out of their way to create tech not many people are going to like... People don't like the Gamepad or Wiimotes... How would this be any different in the eyes of the couch sitting controller holding gaming community? How often do we see the word "gimmick" pasted on this site, in reference to non-conventional controllers? Truth is, this style of play, like the Balance Board, will require you to get off your butt and game, is just not popular with "core gamers"... I guess since MS is leading the charge it's cool now. Glad Nintendo didn't lead the way, or would have just been another "gimmick".

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th July (Europe)

Platypus101

@ikki5 really? Justifying hate? Um... It's not the end of world if a game does not meet our expectations. Post #11 sums it up. We should be contributing to productive banter, not just default to hate.... Just saying.

Re: This Plate & Watch New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plate is Hard to Resist

Platypus101

@chardir no, no, no. That simply will not do. The Gamepad should be a digital photo frame or timepiece without the need to turn on the WiiU... Just the Gamepad. At least then it would serve some form of real world purpose... Hey! Look, @Rjejr just invented the first QoL product for Nintendo using their already existing infrastructure!

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th July (Europe)

Platypus101

@brandonbwii well... It's hard to argue that. Let's face it, the NL community has finally succumbed to the negativity that plagues most other gamer sites some folk still come here to talk about games, not just to diss them... Unfortunately, many (especially since E3) have hopped on the bandwagon of hate, which is very sad, seeing as I taut this as one of the best forum sites. Still is, just sad to see all this negativity.

Re: This Plate & Watch New Nintendo 3DS Cover Plate is Hard to Resist

Platypus101

@rjejr son of a b...... I never thought of a digital photo frame! That is a no brainier! It could even display in-game images that you've taken.... Arrgh! Nintendo R&D, (since you were listening to us, at least according to NL, about Devils Third) please be reading this and take note! perhaps a poll from all those loyalists that purchased a DDP WiiU about what kind of features they would like the next Gampad to utilize.

Re: Nintendo Quality Of Life Patent Applications Appear Online

Platypus101

Was this what they call "click-bait"? Where is anything related to the NX? This is obviously for their QoL platform they have mentioned many a time on this site, and is most likely not really dedicated gaming hardware. I would have no issue if the article stated that it was a QoL product... But I guess everyone at NL figured out by now, not many folk are interested in QoL, so, they tagged it NX.

Re: Donkey Kong Nearly Missed Out On Pixels Stardom

Platypus101

@dkxcalibur @DarthNocturnal saw the film... Nope. I stand by sentiment The plot is very similar to the Futurama episode... Pixels (2010) had no plot. thank you for the video! I had never heard of it until y'all linked it. Gawd I love the Internet

Re: Talking Point: Assessing the Odds of Super Mario Maker Making a Commercial Splash This September

Platypus101

@JamesCoote Nearly every parent has purchased a really cheap tablet for their children to play Minecraft... It is also mobile, cheaper, and let's be honest, at this point, more powerful (if not more powerful, than at least optimized for a better play experience) than the Wii U. Cost and convenience, that's what's ruining Console gaming. If you can't take it with you, get free games and inexpensive, then it's not worth their time.

Re: Nintendo Announces Super Mario Maker Wii U Hardware Bundle

Platypus101

@OorWullie you are absolutely correct on that front. Had this been the launch title for the U... This story would be quite different at this point. As it stands, this may end becoming another wiiMusic gamers like to play games, not create them. Proof? WiiMusic. I would be glad to see this sell, but I'm not holding my breath... And yes, I'm picking it up

Re: Multiple Sources Point to Nintendo of America U-Turn on Publishing Devil's Third

Platypus101

@ToxieDogg thank you. Seriously, not every game is going to be an "A++" title... I feel that modern video gamers as a whole are a soft-skinned lot. Not trying to hurt feelings or troll, hear me out... When you go out and play sports, you cannot reset or redo the game, so that you will have a better record. Same with life, you mess up, you live with it. NOT in gamer world though. I'm about to lose... Reset! I didn't do so well, let's do it all over again so I can get it perfect! This leads to a mentality that loss is bad and that anything less than perfect is simply not worth your effort. I'm willing to bet that the good majority of the "soft-skinned" folk never played sports, much less watch any... (This does not apply to only sports, Life as well. No resets/redos in real life)
