Re: Nintendo Download: 6th November (Europe)

Platypus101

@Starwolf_UK LOL! That's what happens when everybody declares "We only want physical!" Supply and demand baby! Demand increased for physical, so they raised the prices accordingly I'm sure this trend will continue until gamers come to accept digital... (This doesn't just apply to Nintendo)

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Wipeout 64

Platypus101

@dudujencarelli Pretendo:The Musical! That's what is was called... Had too look through my old tickets from this year it doesn't seem to have become an actual production... But if you should ever get a chance to see it, it's a treat, plus why not support the arts and show your love of video games at the same time?!

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Wipeout 64

Platypus101

@dudujencarelli sorry... I didn't think we had time for detailed history lesson.. you are aware we are both saying the same thing, right? I just shortened the ever living carp out of a very detailed story... (Currently there is at least one of each in the works: book, movie -indiegogo, and theatrical stage production - also Kickstarter) read/saw reading of the play, looking forward to the actual book! Seeing how the tables haves turned once again in the console wars! Thank you for clarifying data and fact!

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Wipeout 64

Platypus101

@FragRed you are aware that Nintendo essentially gave Sony the Playstation right? nintendonand Sony designed the Playstation together, then Nintendo got cold feet on the new technology (Cd-ROM), bailed on Sony, who then took their work and made the ultra popular Playstation. Sony did not enter the market to destroy Nintendo, they were there to help...

Re: "Pre-Download" Service to Kick Off With Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Platypus101

@Peach64 seriously?! You can ask to do that?! Holy cow! Regardless, I agree, a phone call makes not an account based system... TBH in my only experience wih Nintendo's service, it was impeccable. I guess that's why I have trusted Nintendo this Gen with digital only... Good to know about the "can restore via phone call/service center" thanks!

Re: Video: Let's Celebrate The Game Boy That The West Never Got

Platypus101

Back in the day, rechargable were rubbish, in fact many products claimed that for best operation, do not use rechargable batteries... Depending on when it was released ( I read an article on this site that claimed...) nintendo had already begun working on (or was soon to release) the Gameboy Color. Now why the GBC had no backlit screen is the real question?

Re: Activision Retail Titles Are Coming To The Wii U And 3DS eShops

Platypus101

@Action51 with the Digital Download Promotion, I decided (when I purchased my Wii U) to go with the full 2TB external HDD, and I will tell you, there is plenty of space (even with all major releases and about a couple dozen indie/retro games)! I stand behind the (Nintendo Recommended) Buffalo DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 2GB HDD... So far so good! (Knock on wood) download may not be for everyone, but it works for me! (And yes, I too would like to see an account based system for nintendo...)

Re: Nintendo's Quirky amiibo Video Shows How They're Used in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Platypus101

The second video was plain worthless... At least I got a story arc from the first video. Really? You're gonna carry delicate toys around with you? The fact that they had to mention "lighting effect not real " shows how BS that ad was... Neither of these ads explain enough for me to want to buy them. I'm on the fence, and have yet to get actual information about this line of toys. Yes, I got it, you can train your toy to play with/against you. What else for my valuable time and money?

Re: Guide: Tips And Tricks To Get You Started In Bayonetta 2

Platypus101

@Tops This reminds me of the time my niece walked over to her dad and asked "What is Ecstasy?" My brother went on to explain that some people like to use drugs, and that they do it to feel good. My niece says "oh." Then asks how Steinbeck would know about Ecstasy... The word climax does have a vulgar connotation amongst the lay person. It's real definition works in this context just as well as the vernacular (for lack of a better word?)... Also, Shantae is not a Mature rated title, so of course they're going to warn readers of the characters sexuality.

Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita

Platypus101

@megamanlink the person that wrote this has no idea what "anti-trust" means. Petition or not, the united states legal system does not work like that (thank the lord, we already have a "sue happy" country as it is, this is the type of myopic thinking that leads to frivolous lawsuits). Also, does anyone really believe that Sony, (who, BTW, was left holding the bag as it were, when Nintendo got cold feet and bailed on the Playstation) would do anything to help out their rival? Marvel is killing of characters because they don't want ANY publicity for their non-Disney franchises. Think about it, that is some serious competition.

Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita

Platypus101

@The_Ninja good idea... No wait, the opposite on good idea. We're you around during the original console wars (Atari vs. everyone?) many of the issues during that period was the lack of actual first party titles... Many of the Devi/pubs made ports for every system... After a while not as many people bought an actual Atari... They would purchase the knock off at a cheaper price, then buy the crappy port for even cheaper (pac-man)... Lots of clones, lots of bad ports, that's what I remember. I love first party titles, let's leave each system with their own unique flavor.

Re: Weirdness: Sony Fan Creates Petition In Hope Of Bringing Super Smash Bros. To The PS Vita

Platypus101

@617Sqn Sony and Microsoft sell million copy titles each year, and every year we hear about layoffs and cutbacks, how this or that million copy selling game didn't cut the mustard, and now they are closing or restructuring... I rarely hear this from nintendo. Truth is, and I know a quite few of you will cry when I say this, Sony does not care about their console division now that it is a complete loss with no real profit... Microsoft keeps bandying the idea of shuttering its console division, when was the last time either of those two scenarios applied to Nintendo? See, nintendo just makes games... Not movies and computers, and TV's... That is why I chose Nintendo, if I wanted a Blu-ray player or laptop, heck, I'd go to Microsoft or Sony, because that's what they do. 'Nuff said.

Re: Exclusive: Masahiro Sakurai on Planned Accidents and New Ways to Play Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS

Platypus101

@SockoMario what says he didn't listen to competitive players? Did he specifically say: "I ignored all but the noobs..." No. Did y'all not get your beloved gamecube controller? (Have no idea how that will make you a better player, but to each his own) have you played the game to see if it was unacceptable by your competitive standards? C'mon guys, enough with the "pre-hate", wait for the game release, play it, then make a judgement. This site has slowly devolved into the "I hate everything I don't have yet" site. Give games their fair chance in your console of choice. Thanks kids!

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

@RCMADIAX I have yet to play your game (more than likely not gonna), but I feel that most forums are filled (78% at least) with what people don't like, as opposed to knowing what they DO like. Seems to me, that if people are buying the game on the eShop (as opposed to whining about it online) they are at least playing it, which is a good sign... BTW, I stopped reading/posting to forums back in May, I made an exception for this! p.s. I hope your next game does well.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

Who says? I say by looking at your profile (don't forget that all the titles I mentioned are also reviewed on this site, you have yet to post hate there) . This is your first day... You show up to troll, then you latch onto the first thing you read... Calm down. I'm not going to argue your viewpoints... Just understand, @RCMADIAX did not rob anyone or mislead their trust. As they say "you get what you pay for" did you expect a high quality polished product for a dollar? Would you buy a car for 100$? When you pay 1$ for a video game there is a reasonable expectation that the game is not gonna be that great.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

No abuse there... You buy we make it. That's how it is. How bout all the Barbie titles that are "crappy"? High-budget movie tie-ins? Any hello kitty game? Those are major developers, and they too are releasing "crappy" games... No attack on them? Just this guy? Is it because he actually READS these posts (unlike any of the corps that release the games I mentioned previously)? As far as "devaluing gaming as a whole" you should have jumped on that ship when Minecraft or angry birds was released...

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

@Quorthon you get what you pay for. Stop the whining... @RCMADIAX did not invent the 1$ game, all he did was follow suit with all the other money makers... I dislike shallow games on the Wii U. That being said, I'm defending the Dev because he did not create the market for cheap/free clones, he simply dove right in, and there is nothing wrong with that. Though, there is something wrong with people buying 1$ games (or not) then complaining about them not being cheap enough or too cheap, take your choice.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

@sinalefa I know it sounds like a cop out with his statement ""y'all buy crappy games, so we make crappy games"... But when you look and see how much money these "crappy" games make (thanks idiots and trolls), it's no wonder there are so many of them (just checked the iTunes Store, well over 1000 games; mostly clones of each other). I respect your point of view (not want into support these types of games) but attacking @RCMADIAX is not the answer... Not buying (and getting the word out) is the answer. Yes, word of mouth takes time, but patience is a virtue.

Re: Review: SPIKEY WALLS (Wii U eShop)

Platypus101

@ejvirzi thank you for clearly stating what needed to be said... Lots of crap games are released each year under the "indie" scene, and this is the first time I have seen this outpouring of anger...

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Will Reveal New Hardware At This Year's E3

Platypus101

Hahahaha! LOL! Wow, I can't believe nintendo life posted an article that even IGN wouldn't post (I know corp workers there, they are told to post anything that resembles news! They actually DIDNT post this so, I can only surmise that this site was desperate for news...) Kinda ran into this by accident on a search. I actually stopped reading the forums, I know the majority of you do too (unless it's to brag about when and how little you paid for a game, or just to poo poo the Wii U.) I believe this site will be just as bad, if not worse than IGN in the coming years... I used to love this site.

Re: NPD Results Bring Solid 3DS Numbers as Wii U Struggles

Platypus101

@Samurai_Goroh I don't need to keep up with every single model of a product I bought and intend to keep for at least five years. Tell me sir, what were the last three models of vacuum cleaners released AFTER the one you purchased? See how silly that sounds? You may be taking this hobby a little too seriously...

Re: NPD Results Bring Solid 3DS Numbers as Wii U Struggles

Platypus101

I swear, this is the title every time for this type of article: "3DS knockin' the socks off everyone! Wii U doing poorly..." Not sure I wanna read anymore of these type of articles. Also, seems that a lot of Sony and MS players joined up specifically to bad mouth Nintendo's sales. Not really news at this point.

Re: Talking Point: Amazon Fire TV is an Early Warning for Console Heavyweights

Platypus101

@Farmboy74 casuals... What is it that you personally know about them? How many do you speak with? Me? Quite a few! Casuals are done with console gaming. In the words of over 100 random people on the street, they have simply moved on or do t have the time (in many cases they responded with "there's something comforting about holding a cell phone" I'm paraphrasing, but that's how it comes off... let's forget about those that have discarded our hobby and concentrate on the coming generation of new gamers

Re: You Can Now Pre-Order eShop Games Via Nintendo UK's Online Store

Platypus101

@PorllM I see where you're coming from... Seems more like a "impulse buy" kinda situation. You also, stated that you pre-ordered GTA V... That was a very popular title, not many folk that I know of that didn't buy that game my assumption is that your network speed is not up to snuff, as I can usually buy large games and have them downloaded within the hour... But regardless, if the intro price does drop, then I can see myself enjoying this service. on the other hand, NFS hardly dropped in price on the eShop, resorted to buying two copies for 10$ less (yes, both copies cost less than a single download) on amazon...
