Re: This Metroid Game Boy Advance Design is a Treat

Platypus101

@bahooney now now everybody... I didn't denigrate mister aaronsullivan... I was just commenting on how quickly he has forgotten the magic of the original GBA... In its day. I'm sure he is correct, but there was no other point of reference "back in the day" (excuse the parlance). My current HD TV is way better than my old Sanyo black and white tv console in '84! That's not really saying much... Technology moves forward, not much we can (or should, for that matter) do about it, but let's not forget the days of old, when the technology of the day was moving in leaps and bounds to give us what we have today! (Like for some weird reason, GBA Games - in their original definition - in HD being a big deal).
Oh, and @sketchturner awesome idea... Kinda like Zelda got its own design!

Re: This Metroid Game Boy Advance Design is a Treat

Platypus101

@aaronsullivan really? You're going to bad mouth technology that is nearly 15 years old? I'm sure when you bought your first GBA, your first words were not "what a POS! This screen sucks! Why did I ever spend my money on this?" You sound like those 9 year olds at the mall: " ugh... MOM! Why don't we have the NEW samsung (whatever the hell)?! This is last years model..." The GBA was the only REAL choice for portable gaming, there was no other tech quite as appealing... Think iPhones when first released.

Re: Electronic Arts CEO Discusses The Company's Plans For Virtual Reality At SXSW

Platypus101

This article is a joke, right? I mean, these are the same people that didn't care to work with the gamepad, and that was established technology! This would mean starting from scratch and taking a big financial risk. Two things EA is not known for, (Not verbatim, but it is what they have been stating since their exclusion of their Wii U support, To be kind)...they will probably last as long as their support for Wii U.

Re: Former Criterion Boss Alex Ward Laments Issues With Releasing Need For Speed On Wii U

Platypus101

Really?! Now we're going to post angry disgruntled twitters by angry employees? This is not news or informative, lots of people hate their boss/company they work (or worked) for. This dude should just get over it! I am sure if we all got together we could come up with something to complain about at work. In his case, he has soooooo much money from his awful, awful job, that never did a thing for him ('cept feed his family and give him a nice sized savings to boot!) that he could quit and start his own company.... You know what I say in that situation? Thank you EA for taking care of me! 'Nuff Said.

Re: New and Sealed Xenoblade Chronicles Copies Available in North America

Platypus101

@grimbldoo seriously broke at the time (unemployed for nearly 5 years) so I panicked and tried to make some money off the IDEA they were collectible... Like you said, collectibles are for collecting. The only value they truly have, is the one the collector gives it (FYI: many of my collectibles are stuff I had collected through my school years - 80's thru 90's, they're nice, just not worth much in the open market)

Re: New and Sealed Xenoblade Chronicles Copies Available in North America

Platypus101

@BlackStar9000 really? Collectors? Once we're old, these things will have very little value (as they were so poular that quite a few copies do exist) this is not some rare gem... It is a game that was passed over by many, not all. I have tons of "collectible" crap... I tried selling some of it once, dissappointing to say the least. Thanks ebay for killing collectibles

Re: Congo Calling's Bandi Mbubi Urges Gamers To Press Nintendo Into Using Conflict-Free Materials In Its Consoles

Platypus101

@ThumperUK really, apple hate when they're turning around? Why don't you research (not just google the first three thinks you see) e-waste? You will see that as first world societies, we create disasters in third world countries. This has been happening far longer than apple has been a major player in the electronics biz...in those videos you will see young boys, pregnant mothers and the elderly, awash in lethal chemicals trying to strip the precious metals off circuit boards and the like. Save your hate... There are bigger fish out there (and many a time we are enabling them). 'Nuff said.

Re: Talking Point: What We Expect In Nintendo Direct - 13th February

Platypus101

@TDS_Computer sorry, hot cakes don't do too well these days... Just ask IHOP (International house of Pancakes! They just got all 50 states, how they're international is beyond me) they have closed down quite a few in the past two decades or so... But really? Minecraft? That game is free or cheap, isn't it? Why buy a console when you can borrow your parents iPhone?

Re: Renegade Kid Releases Début Moon Chronicles Trailer

Platypus101

@FishieFish why does everyone want a retail release? Haven't we all seen the future with app stores and the like across all platforms? The days of retail copies is coming to an end. Mark my words, as production of physical discs becomes a burden on companies, they will go up in cost, while digital copies go down ( or realistically stay the same)...

Re: Mario Kart 8 Drifting In For a May Release

Platypus101

@Lance168 or simply well timed...nintendo just bought back a bunch of stock. That means less to payout to shareholders, thus keeping more money for nintendo. Also, I wonder what the competing consoles will be releasing at that time?

Re: Mario Kart 8 Drifting In For a May Release

Platypus101

@hwrose379 then you will just have to have very happy un-birthday! woo-hoo May!! If they don't have stoopid friend codes, I think it would be awesome that they create "groups" so let's say everyone on the NL site can sign up and we can all play together, regardless of what time zone you're in!

Re: Satoru Iwata Announces a "Quality of Life" Platform Business of "Non-Wearable" Technology

Platypus101

Does anyone know (or bother to look up) what integrated hardware/software solution is? Think of an iPad being able to sync its info to both your imac and iPhone ... That's all. I think that's where they're going... It has become a very popular refrain from many companies (qol/integrated he/sw solutions) including Microsoft, Samsung, Sony and yes, even amazon (kindle), although I'm not sure how theirs works.

Re: Nintendo Planning to Offer "Flexible Price Points" for Games

Platypus101

@MrCharles77 I'm there with you, I love my Wii U, but WTF! A good number of games are getting delayed (pick your console!) Nintendo Direct? Come on, a good 20% (maybe more, work has kept me from really keeping up) of the titles mentioned are either delayed or TBA status.... Another Nintendo Direct with empty promises I'll pass.
