Re: Soapbox: We Like To Grumble, But Nintendo Switch Online Is Actually A Very Generous Offer

Pete41608

Ever since Thomas left, this site gotten a bit um unusual at times.

A lot of typos, ridiculous apologists articles like this one, I mean "quit your complaining"? Really NL? If it wasn't for complaining and gamers voicing our opinions we would still have a lot more of the terrible ideas publishers/devs have thought up to take our money when all they really need is to create an excellent/great/good game.

I'm not opposed to any article on this site but do not publish articles telling your readers to not complain. Heck, I am no t even against NSO per se, for the price of the Family Plan I am ok with it and what I get.

This article's byline is just wrong and should be redacted, honestly.

Also, an apology should be given to all Nintendo Life readers for telling us to shut our mouths.

Re: Guide: How To Sign Up For Nintendo Switch Online

Pete41608

I think I will wait til March when we get my daughter her own Switch and get a Family Plan then.

I don't play online myself really, she and I play MK8 online together on our current Switch but we are getting her own so we can play AC together next year.

I figure why pay $20 now then another $20 then when we can wait and pay $5 less and also simplify things for ourselves.

Family Plan is a great thing from Nintendo. Their best idea regarding the online sub. Regardless if the online technically isn't really worth it but what can you do, right?

Re: Nintendo Confirms That Animal Crossing is Coming To Switch Next Year

Pete41608

I got New Leaf on August 1, 2013 and have love AC ever since.

Been waiting for this and I am ready! Me and my daughter cannot wait, we are getting her her own Switch for this and I will keep our current one for my own and we will be getting two AC's.

Just excellent.

Hope Nintendo doesn't do anything unredeemable or too bad to AC Switch to turn anyone away.

Re: Breath Of The Wild Has Been Added To The Zelda Series Timeline, But There's A Catch

Pete41608

I believe it is all one timeline. Just as the legend implies, a new hero is born every so often to rise and fight the evil plaguing the land.

BotW is a point in Hyrules' time where lots of major and minor etc lores of the legend combined over the centuries, millennia, etc, to form the names of places and also the shapes of certain terrain and structures such as Spectacle Rock.

BotW is an excellent tribute to the series in those regards, they just missed the dungeon and item aspect. But so, so beautiful of a tribute I say.

Re: Paladins Is Now Available As A Free Download On Switch

Pete41608

Why does Nintendo keep wasting time on this ftp garbage?
First Pokemon Quest and Fortnite, now they're releasing this new crap?

Seriously, instead of wasting precious resources developing this horror they could've done gave us BotW 2 or Mario Kart 9!

Disappointed at you Nintendo!

Re: Rumour: Revised Switch Units With Homebrew Bug Fix Are Now Appearing At Retail

Pete41608

I have an open repair order for right Joy Con due to extreme right/left direction issues on the stick.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to another Joy Con to test it so they want my system too because 'we need to make sure it is not the system causing issues.'

Guess what dudes? I know that it is only my Joy Cons issue.

May not send it now with the thinking they could just blame the issues on both and give me refurbished ones back.

Re: Poll: Is Your Nintendo Switch Cracking Under The Pressure?

Pete41608

Got my Switch in March '18 and it is fine.

Probably 70% dock, 30% portable as I main dock and my daughter mains portable.

My right Joy Cons stick gets stuck to the right so plan on calling Nintendo soon. May have them go ahead and take a look at the left Joy Con due to possible disconnection issues I had shortly after first getting my Switch.

This console had to have been slightly rushed no other Nintendo console has been this bad for me when it comes to these sorts of issues. I wish they would have also had better wifi chip function.

Re: Fortnite Player Takes All-Time Kill Record By Savagely Taking Out Rocket Launch Viewers

Pete41608

I played two consecutive games last night netting 3 eliminations in both, finishing 2nd in the first and 3rd in the second and it felt glorious.

I am a terrible builder for now and am not great at all, at least not yet, so it is nice when I manage to achieve even 1 elimination.

I can only imagine how much of a rush this gamer felt achieving 48 elims in one match let alone in a matter of just moments. Hahah.

Re: Feature: The Real Wizard: A Nintendo World Champion's Tale

Pete41608

This is the best NL article in months!

Excellent read, great writing on this one.

If this article was game graphics it would be in 4K.
If it was an art style it would be like The Wind Waker.
If it was a game soundtrack it would be Zelda's Lullaby.
If it was gameplay it would be RE4, Breath of the Wild and MGSV.

@Dang69
I have no doubt that Jesus did, in fact, read your comment....Unless you're calling me Jesus? I couldn't possibly live up to bearing the name of our great lord and savior, but in any case I appreciate the comparison, sir.

Although, I would like to state, for the record, I did walk on water once.

Regarding the "backbone of traffic" to Nintendo Life, it would be kinda cool to be able to see a breakdown of which types of articles get more "hits" and comments compared to others.

My +1 for hiding spoilers etc in article titles and cover pics still stands.

Re: Talking Point: Does Sega's AGES Announcement Mean The Virtual Console Is Dead?

Pete41608

If the plan would be to sell the same games as before in a trickle of weekly selections at terrible overpriced value, then don't bother, I say.

There is enough Indie games with 8bit etc graphics, it is exhausting.

Nintendo need to focus on the now, not the past, save it for later at best.

Edit: It would be nice to be able to bring my previous VC library over to Switch!

Re: Sega Announces AGES For Nintendo Switch, Mega Drive Mini Console

Pete41608

@Menchi187
"Understand your place as a Switch owner"

Menchi is right, always remember Nintendo will always be last to Publishers regardless of their place in the 'Console War.'

Mainly due to them holding the hardware back, and even then, Nintendo unrestraing their future hardware may not ever be enough to put them back in first from Pubs perspective.

Nintendo chose this route years ago and are paying for it still. Sure Switch is successful, but a console's success don't matter to me if I doesn't allow me to play the games I want to play.

For the record, I don't care about these announcement s from Sega as they don't have any games I really care for.

I'll take a new Columns though.

Re: Nintendo Switch Version 5.0.1 Is Now Available For Download

Pete41608

At this point, Ninty should just add a Stability icon on the Home screen and every time there is an update that is just stability, it should say 'click here for more stability.'

I figure the next update that actually brings anything of interest will either be around E3 or most likely the Fall update with paid online, sadly.

If you owned a 3DS, you're already use to every 19/20 system updates being exclusively stability.

Yay, Nintendo....

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 5.0.0 Is Now Available

Pete41608

It's hilarious that every time a modern console releases, Folders are not part of day one OS, leaving people to beg for years before they finally implement them.

I'm not surprised that there isn't anything huge in this update, Nintendo are stabilizers first and foremost. Everytime a 3DS or Wii U update would be on the horizon or just appear, people would hope for something great but end up just getting stability. Lol.

There was only a few 3DSWii U updates that were significantly system changing.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th March (North America)

Pete41608

Just picked up my Switch earlier this morning with Mario+Rabbids.

Not far into it but enjoying it.

Waiting for the direct to see if there is any big surprises for today, if not then I'll probably get SMO or Xenoblade 2, leaning heavkly towards SMO though.
