@OorWullie In my opinion it wasn't a really good launch line-up, not so much from Nintendo's side, but from an overall perspective. A good line-up would cover a lot/all bases/genres.

Being a Nintendo fan has nothing to do with it. I am one, and pre-ordered solely on the base of Zelda, Splatoon2, Mario -and possibly ARMS. That doesn't mean I/people shouldn't complain -be disappointed.

If you're sick of all the negativity I understand, it would be nice if people wouldn't focus so much on the things that weren't as good -as a lot of things are so exciting of this new console!

I really enjoyed the Mario Strikers -and Golf series. Tennis was quitte good as well. Hopefully it'll have the same quality and spirit those games had -only a bit more pocket sized ofcourse.

Really curious about Rime, Wonderboy, Monsterboy and Disgae 5.
I haven't see any confirmation of Constructor HD, but if they are planning to release it on the NS it would be on top of my list!

Not a Nindie, but a title that's flying a bit under everyone's radar and day one buy as well: SNIPPERCLIPS

@rjejr Sadly we(or maybe just me) don't know when development started. So their's no way to tell, but perhaps you're right.

These images do not give a good representation of the game visually, use captured videos from both versions and then make a comparison. That would make it a lot easier -and fairer to judge.

This new year is sizzling with excitement as we await the launch of the Switch with accompanying games.

It'll probably be a shooter(SW:Battlefront keeps popping up in my mind although I'd rather play Titanfall or Battlefield), FIFA seems like a save bet as well(biggest international appealing sports game). Mass Effect on the other hand would be so much more exciting.

Both ZombiU and Rayman Legends made excellent use of the WiiU capibilities. If they can pull of something of equall quality this will be a game to look forward too. I'm cautiously excited.

After reading and hearing opinions from all around, there's one thing I picked up from all that noise: Zelda hype!

A new Wave Race would be awesome, so would a new Metroid, F-Zero, or just a new IP be.
Zelda might not have a high appeal on you, but Zelda has always had many fans. And you know -as well as I- that it's one of their flagship franchises. So it's a great starter for a new console(or any console for that matter). But hey, that's just my opinion.

@zool I totally agree and understand that the hype can deminish, if it takes to long. But what have we seen really?
A tiny bit of gameplay and a trailer. Now we can really see, in-depth, what the finalized version of this new open world Zelda will look like. I for one, can't wait for it!
I definitely think it will come to WiiU as well. There are numerous reasons why stepping over to NX could make sense, but as I know nothing for certain as to what the NX will be, you could very well be right. I do have high expectations for what the NX could be, but like I said, I can't say anything for sure..
If your feeling comes from the disappointment of Nintendo not showing much else, I am feeling a bit let down to be honest. To the point I still can't believe they'd only show Zelda, I'm hoping they're keeping some things under wraps so they can surprise everybody.

@zool But you havn't played or seen much of the new Zelda.. Don't you think you're jumping the gun a bit to soon?

PS will of course have more to show.. But it'll probably be mostly VR. Wich is a bit of a shame.

Aw man, I was almost sold on the description alone.. But the art-style is not my thing, at all. Way to sterile. And I'm not to excited about the gameplay shown as well.

@FragRed Ubisoft isn't giving an official press release stating it's not true, cause that would raise further suspicion. In my mind, this makes the rumor less plausible. Not taking away the fact how smart of a move that would've been from Nintendo. If it were true, it has HYPE written all over it.

I recently bought Pokemon Yellow as a start into the series. And I gotta say I'm loving it! Never thought it would be so addicting.. Gotta catch 'm all!

@zool I really understand that sentiment. I do that as well with books. I don't like the idea of having to do everything off-screen, plus the feel of a book in your hand, feeling the paper when you turn a page, love it.
The turning point for me was when I found my storage space lacking at some point, and had to make the choice, build closets entirely dedicated to store newly bought physical media or store them on a Hard Drive. The choice was simple(with some persuading from my girlfriend).

@zool You might be right. Never played an Oddworld game, so I couldn't say for sure. The game has been appealing to me since it was launched on the PS1, but asking "full price" for an e-shop game that doesn't run all that well, seems a bit much.

I don't have many problems with the download-only release.
I see your point in trading(and with that I mean returning it after playing it for an 1-2 hour). That's an option I've been wanting for quite some time. I never sell my games, but to have the option would be nice.
Concerning the replay-ability: you'd run in the same problem with physical releases if the new system didn't have backwards compatibility.

Congrats USA for getting FE Fates first! Still sad it's not out in EU though..
When it does though, I'll be playing Conquest first.

Love the excitement that comes with not knowing. Nintendo has a lot to reveal and I will sit back and enjoy the show. If I'll leave the 'show' satisfied remeans to be seen but there's just so much potential I'm hoping for the best.

@zool You got me drooling just thinking about a new Waverace game.. The creativity in the course design, the vibe of the game letting you feel the summer sea breeze in your face while catching some waves.. Sigh. Someone wake me up, I'm daydreaming again..

I'd say it's essential for a fighting game to have local multiplayer.
That said, I haven't goten around getting excited for this game. Maybe i'll see something worth my while closer to the release date. I surely hope so.

@shani I agree with most of what you're saying, only I do think Nintendo should see Sony and Microsoft as direct competition. If Ninty wants to be the market leader once more, they need the big third party support. This automaticly means they'll be working in the same realm as it's competitors. And Ninty needs to provide the hardware third party is also able to work with. That doesn't mean however they have to abandon innovation, but they need a clever combination. And don't forget, Nintendo is already different in the games they offer. Imo they should focus on innovation in games, not necessarily on motion controls or an gamepad.
And think about this: If Sony and Microsoft don't see Nintendo as direct competition, why do they copy or integrate a lot games, hardware function's, etc.

To bad no Splatoon. Wi'll do my best to join MK8. My Smash skills are so sub-par, they hurt the eyes. Best to just skip it. Great iniative though!

It was a tough choice but.. Splatoon trumps MM as game of the year!

Honestly, this looks more like an early concept design from the WiiU gamepad.
Should this be the next thing.. No front-faced fysical buttons seems like a bad choice. As well as a screen that has analog sticks sticking out of it.
But 2016 is around the door, so we'll see what Ninty can suprise us with this time.

Splendid review. My New 3DS gets the best treat a handheld console could get.. Turn based strategy gaming! Can't wait.

@Spoony_Tech It's noticable(and looking good), but not a selling point i'd say. The gameplay and art-style are the real star here.

My adrenaline starts kicking in seeing thuis vid. Can't wait to play it!
