Re: Bayonetta 3 Will 'Exceed All Your Expectations', Says Platinum's Hideki Kamiya

@SamirMalik "What I'm getting at is its kinda naive to think that a sexy character is suddenly ok just because the artist is a women especially when art is more about visual intuition and hand technique, driven by self expression. Art skill is a genderless concept. Even more so with sexual appreciation."

That wasn't really what I was suggesting, it was more that I am interested in why Bayonetta has always 'felt' more respectful than other female video game leads.

Also, I think the differences between Pyra and Mythra's designs are very different to Bayonetta's, as well as their characterisation. I think it's hard to argue that those two weren't designed a certain way for certain reasons. I feel that Bayonetta is more of a social comment on the sexualisation of women in games, highlighting that there's not really a problem with creating sexy characters, it more about how the character is portrayed and implemented in a story.

I think the fact that Bayonetta's style and appearance has always been designed by a woman partly explains why no one has had any issues with it. I don't know why, but she has always felt OK. It's a great example of how to have a sexy female character without grossly sexualising her, a very difficult thing to pull off, especially in animation and video games.

I suppose her character and attitude help a lot in this regard.

Re: A New Kirby Game Just Leaked On Nintendo Japan's Website

@Clarice It's not so much that a Kirby game can't be spoiled, it's more that now when it comes up and takes ten minutes in the direct I'll be like "oh here's that Kirby surprise that was ruined."

This coming from someone who couldn't care less about Kirby games.

Let's face it, Nintendo had to give virtual console a generation rest, with a sub type thing, so they can come out the heroes and sell us all those retro games again on the next system.

Oddly enough I finally started playing Fire Emblem: Shadow of the Dragon last night. I'm really enjoying it and the fact that it's a pretty hard Fire Emblem game. The only reason I got it was cause I had some gold coin credit and didn't want to miss out as a Fire Emblem fan. I was going to tell a mate to get it if he fancied a bit of old school strategy. Can't can he, as it was a limited timed release. Bloomin' rotten that is, no need for it.

Re: Platinum Really Wants To Show You Bayonetta 3, But It Can't

I don't want to see anything, I just want them to release it when it's ready. It's been so long since the announcement they can't really get away with anything close to a hype period anymore. Once you go past waiting 3 years for a game any hype starts working against a game for me.

It's be lying if I said that I wasn't slightly excited by the prospect of my collection being worth a fortune, but not like this... Not like this. I've been keeping an eye on the limited run release sales on eBay and some of them are already going for silly money. It's all at least very interesting, I'll give it that.

At the end of the day I collect games to have nice retirement toys to play with.

Re: After Months Of 'Switch Pro' Rumours, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Nintendo Switch OLED Model

All that speculation, all those wasted words and articles. It's pretty sad really. At this point I feel Nintendo had a responsibility to come out and say they weren't going to release a Pro version of the switch. I suppose they only decided this fairly recently after the console selling so well and them having no need to split the customer base.

Meh, I was hoping for better performance on the whole, but I'm generally happy with the switch so I don't care that much really.
