Re: Nintendo Download: 12th February (North America)

Reanimal devs doing some scummy stuff. Releasing a super short game, they already have content ready to go as a dlc they'll be dropping in a few months. They took a game and divided it up and will be trying to sell us different pieces repeatedly. Greasy!

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales Have Got Off To A Slow Start

MonsterMike

After waiting what felt like my adult life for MP4, it has not lived up to the hype. I'm nearing the end of my plauthrough and it just doesn't have that sense of exploration the others do. Just feels like menial tasks I keep getting badgered to do by Miles. The silent desert just riding around crashing through green crystals... When I'm done I am gonna sell it and never look back. Might not ever buy a metroid prime game again. We shall see.

Re: Preview: Pragmata Might Wind Up Being The Biggest Surprise Of 2026

MonsterMike

This game is speaking my language on all fronts, it looked so cool and I was stoked. Then I played the demo on steam and yeah... It feels super arcadey with the gun pickups that have limited ammo. The hacking was boring. All in all what a let down, I will not be purchasing it now when it releases and I was all in up to this point.

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime 4 And The Burden Of Being 'Good Enough'

MonsterMike

Still chugging through my playthrough and I'd say the linear aspect of the biomes along with the companion NPCs, particularly the girl who just fangirls samus the whole time, are the weakest parts. It plays well, and it's a compelling enough story, but I'm just not feeling the exploration aspect metroid is known for. I don't mind Sol valley and finding stuff in there. It's far from a failure, but equally far from a masterpiece. 7/10 is an extremely fair score as of how far I am, which I suspect is closing in on the finish line.

Re: Opinion: Metroid Prime 4 Does This One Thing Better Than Any Other Nintendo Game

MonsterMike

Just started this one the other day and so far I'm enjoying it. I was very disappointed in how it looked. I was expecting an absolute showstopper for the switch 2, and it's very apparent this is a switch game with a switch 2 glow up. It doesn't look any better than prime remastered as a whole and the "Nintendo switch 2 edition" branding actually makes a lot of sense now. Anyways, once I got past that fact, it's a very fun game, but I'm in the Myles Mackenzie has gotta go camp, him telling me where to go and the path to get there is not ideal.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Pre-Orders At GameStop Can Bag A, Uh... Bag

MonsterMike

Gamestop's preorder bonuses are getting lame as hell. For pre ordering MP4 they gave me my "gift" it was a slightly larger cardboard picture of the front of the Nintendo switch game case cover, complete with all the writing and everything. I asked the guy if I would be an ***** if I just left it and didn't want it and he agreed it was a stupid thing. Now we're getting a bag.... Remember when they used to be at least somewhat cool?

Re: "One Of The Best-Looking Games On Switch 2" - Digital Foundry Dives Into Metroid Prime 4

I struggle to tell the difference between fps. The only time 30 ever felt clunky was when I would play starfield on my laptop at 140fps+ then play on my Xbox at 30. The sensation only lasted for about twenty mins then it felt normal again. It's wild that the quality mode on this game is 60, while performance ramps up to 120 on console. Wow. I'll defo be playing quality at a frame rate far above what I normally play games at.

Re: Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) - An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port

MonsterMike

Might have just sold me on this. Used to be a star wars nut in my younger days but the absolute dilution of quality with the never ending star wars content had me out. Being set during the empire and Jedi returns is a big selling point, I loved that era.

Also, why does anyone honestly care about game key cards? For all your uses and purposes it is exactly like a full game on cart, oh, minus the fact that it actually runs faster since it can read off your system faster than it can off a cartridge.

Re: Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot Is Hopeful That Upcoming Switch 2 Port Can Revive Star Wars Outlaws

MonsterMike

There was a time in my younger days when anything star wars would have immediately grabbed my attention, but the over saturation of content and introduction of cast and characters that I really juat don't give a hoot about, makes it so seeing star wars is... Meh. How much of that is due to my getting older and how much is due to the new stuff actually stinking more is up for debate, either way this one didn't move the needle for me
