The Dreamcast was the first machine I felt you got graphics which almost that of PC at the time. It was the first to attempt to bridge the gap in playing catch up.
In the previous comment, I agree, Soul Calibur blew me away. But nothing blew me away more, than the fact you could finally play Quake 3 Arena on a console.
I was a long fan of that game, and to see it actually run on a console, was outstanding at that time.
My personal favourite on Dreamcast was probably Shenmue 1&2
I remember asking my dad about Street Fighter 1, back when Street Fighter II came out for the Snes. All I can remember him saying was, it was a waste of time and the series should of began at 2.
Personally I've never played the original, so I can't comment. But I've never heard anything good about it. I'll have to try it at some point, and make my own mind up about it.
Mario Galaxy 3DS, it's going to be announced. Hopefully...
On one hand I'm disappointed there is still no talk of NX, but on the other hand I get it they want to keep their cards close.
I just hope after the wait, it's going to be worth it. I'm optimistic it will be, but it will completely suck, if we've waited all this time with no Info for garbage.
I can't wait for this, more so than anything I'm excited about this year. That being, Paper Mario Colour Splash, Bioshock Collection, Skyrim HD and Gears of War 4.
@samuelvictor Seems like a few people want that physical copy or NSLU, me included. And I made the same stupid mistake, £10 in sainsburies and I passed on it.
It would be great if Nintendo made more physical copies of New Super Luigi U. The ones on eBay sell for ridiculous prices. Can't find it anywhere in the shops.
The other problem is you can't download it off the eShop anymore either. You can only download it with New Super Mario Bros U. For myself I already have that on disc, and don't fancy paying again for something I already have.
It was great playing this on a handheld the first time round. But when you stack this up, against the N64 original, which was specifically designed for a home console. It doesn't make sense buying the DS version for your Wii U.
First games machine we had, can remember watching dad play Mortal Kombat on it when he bought It. That Christmas when I was 4, I got the original Mario Kart, I can remember it vividly.
If anything it's done kids the world of good, getting them off their asses to go outside and hang out.
I must say though, in my job I drive buses. And twice kids have walked in front of the bus playing Pokemon Go not thinking what they are doing. It's a concern, as 10 tonnes of metal against flesh and bone... You get the picture.
As for WrestleWar, I always wondered if it was a WCW game they couldn't get the license for.
Hence why they used the name WrestleWar, which was in fact a WCW Pay Per View at that point.
Also, the voice over at the beginning definitely sounds like a Jim Ross clone.
Too my knowledge though, Hulk Hogan wouldn't jump ship to WCW until 1994.
The first was the price, as I wanted it with the Hori pad, so that was looking at £59.99 at the cheapest. As much as I liked the footage, I thought it looked fun but a bit linear and repetitive. Also I like the Pokemon series, but can't claim to be it's biggest fan, so it went to the back of the list that month. Seem to recall buying something for the Xbox One instead that month.
Nintendo should get behind this and start plugging it for their console. Like many, I had no doubt about Playtonics ability, but this has completely surpassed what I expected. Looks incredible, and it's a delight to say that.
If it comes to Nintendo Selects I will buy it. Could never justify the full price for this game. Looks like a good beat em up, baring in mind there is a lot better out there.
I hope it's Tegra 1 purely based on price. If they come in with Tegra 2 and it's expensive, it will sink like lead in water. Come in with an affordable price, have a good product, you will hit the deck running with a good chance of success.
Their biggest mistake was not distinguishing it as a new console. A lot of people thought, it was a tablet for the original Wii. Complete missed opportunity.
I don't think it's been a flop, broke even, just not a great success.
Personally i still think it offers more than Xbox One. For now at least.
I feel bad for Nintendo to be honest. With the modern world, everything these days is so divided. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. You have one camp who wants a high end machine, a clone of PS4/XBone which plays Nintendo games. Then the other, who wants innovation, new ideas, being prepared to let the spec slide in favour of originality. Then you have people who want something else entirely.
I just feel from my stand point, all I care about is decent Nintendo games coming out. I don't particularly care what they look like, as long as play great and are fun. I would be even happy if they just turned around, and said, look where just going to release all our previous/current systems rolled up into one, and develop for all of them to give everyone what they want. 8bit,16bit, 64bit, Modern let's keep everyone happy.
As for NX portable idea, I'm not sold. I want a machine to be purely a home system. I don't want to play it on the move, I've got a 3DS for that. I don't want to look at a small screen, I want it on my TV with the volume cranked up, and my seat pulled close so it's all I can see.
I also worry about the fact, if the NX is a portable, can you imagine if you broke that thing on the move ? It's not going to be cheap. That's going to put a lot of parents off if you ask me. It's a pain in the ass enough not being able to get a replacement Wii U tablet, let alone even thinking about taking an NX out on the move.
The bottom line for me is, I just want great Nintendo games. High quality games which are fun and innovate. Whatever NX is I'll be getting it, but they need to get back to basics and think what makes Nintendo great.
I'm looking forward to this, regardless of what the mass consensus is thinking. This in some sense could be one of the last hurrahs for Wii U, and I think people need to get off the band wagon, and at least wait to try it when it's out.
The same applies for Metroid Federation Force. I was on the fence watching the trailer initially. But you know if it actually plays well, it would be wrong to write It off without even trying it properly.
Interesting review, but it's bang off the mark. Bonk is more like an 8, it's a PC Engine classic. This is why you shouldn't go off reviews, judge a game yourself before writing it off.
Microsoft were really after Sega at that point. And from what I gather it was rejected by the Japanese board. The head of Sega of America, Bernard Stolar, really pushed to make the deal happen. Sega of Japan were unanimously against the buy out.
That's a shame as it is actually pretty solid. The press killed that, copying each other's reviews jumping on the bandwagon. I enjoyed both aspects of that game, critically underrated game.

Re: Pokémon Bank Update for Sun, Moon and Virtual Console Titles Now Due in January 2017
Nintendo seem to miss a lot of deadlines it sets.
I don't mind if it's correcting issues, but it would still be nice if stuff came out on time.

Re: EA Had Plans To Create Its Own Pokémon Competitor
Digimon was the only one which really made traction as a rival.
Maybe even Monster Rancher on a lower scale.
Even then it was pale in comparison to Pokemon's success.
Some things just can't be imitated to the same success.
Pokemon just came at the right time, everything fell into place, and the rest is history.
Re: Video: Nintendo Releases Showcase Video for Paper Mario: Color Splash
I think it looks great, and have since the reveal.
Re: Talking Point: Unique and Affordable - Nintendo's NX Needs to Avoid Direct Competition With PlayStation and Xbox
I just want good Nintendo games.
Aslong as the machine has great software I'm sold.
But I agree they need to come in with a low price, and an original innovate idea.
And they need to show they are dedicated to the hardware, and not abandon consumers who have shelled out hard earned cash for their home console.
I love Wii U, but as an owner of one this year, I can't help but feel forgetton about.
Which I admit, partially I can understand.
But to a lot of Wii U owners, that could make them hesitant about buying an NX.

Re: Nintendo Appears at Apple Conference to Announce Super Mario Run
From a business sense, this makes total sense.
Personally, I've dreaded this day, and it has finally come.
Still, in the scheme of things, could be the best decision Nintendo makes.
Steaming ahead into mobile that is.
Re: Random: How One Of Sega's Worst TV Ads Sparked An Epic Quest To Track Down A Fictional Barber
The worst ads are the current Nintendo ads, with people sat on a couch playing the games.

Well that looks terrible.
I never knew anyone with a Jaguar, but I always heard the Alien Vs. Predator game was amazing.
I debated buying a Jag a few years ago with Doom.
But decided against it, as I must of bought Doom 8 times already on different formats.

@A01 likely Playstation 4, as it's been seen playable before by the developer.
Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Reveals 'New Galaxy Style' New Nintendo 3DS XL, Out in North America This Week

@goonow Yeah it's up there just don't fancy those prices for a used game.
I may crack one day, and just go for it.

@Simbabbad that's true, but I want the physical copy of NSLU on it's own.

We want Pokemon Streets Of Rage.
Re: Pokémon Spin-Off Pokkén Tournament Ships One Million Units Worldwide On Wii U
@Mogster There was a couple of reasons really.
The first was the price, as I wanted it with the Hori pad, so that was looking at £59.99 at the cheapest.

Also I like the Pokemon series, but can't claim to be it's biggest fan, so it went to the back of the list that month.

I'm just not entirely sold on this hybrid console/handheld NX Rumours.
