@progx I understand that, definitely great for more casual Gamers. I actually own most of those games on disc. But I agree, for guaranteed longevity you need to buy them.
Gamepass is a great idea. Sort of like Spotify with music.
I held out for years still buying CD and Vinyl. 2016 I finally caved in and got Spotify. I no longer buy CD, but still buy Vinyl occasionally.
The most games I buy are switch. I won't buy anything really if its not physical.
I have a Series X, Great machine, but it's sat there like a £450 paper weight. It still doesn't feel next gen, as the majority of the games are previous generation.
Switch by far is the better machine at the moment.
I can't comment on PS5, but it looks great.
I find with Gamepass I only download stuff I might of missed. Even then, I don't invest a lot of time into it.
I will say though, it's great the pass also works on PC I have got more use out of it there, than the Series X.
@earthinheritor a review is an opinion, and an opinion is always subjective.
I just don't buy into all these reviews, if I want to try something, I get it and form my own judgement
I honestly think a lot of review sites, copy and paste reviews from each other.
The biggest example before this was Devils Third.
Universally panned.
I went and bought it day one, and you know what it was actually an alright game, with an excellent multiplayer.
A 6 or a 7 for the single player, a solid 8 for the multiplayer.
The press got it wrong, entirely.
I understand people don't want to waste full price on Balan.
I get that, and I understand the criticism.
But I got it day one, and I think it's actually OK.
But it's a £25 game tops.
I grew up in the 90s, and to me this reminds me of a Saturn game. And I'm fine with that.
It's nice to play something like that for a change.
Cyberpunk for a multitude of reasons is worse than Balan.
I bought that, and it was over hyped nonsense, glitched to the hilt.
They had every reason to get that game right. And still messed it up.
Balan was made by a low budget studio, with a big publisher.
What did people really expect?
Cyberpunk is the bigger travesty.
A massive budget, and talented developers.
They turned out a dud.
I just feel how can you ever truly cast an opinion if you haven't played the full game?
It would be like casting an opinion on a new film you haven't went to see.
Or casting an opinion based off a film trailer, without watching the full film.
I don't think you can form an opinion off that.
I'm not knocking you, or other people.
But I do think people are quick to jump on a band wagon, and go off with the media circus on this.
I doubt even 50% of the press have even played Balan properly.
Its just so easy to churn someone else's review into another review.
Balan for me is about a 6 tops.
But it's definitely not a 3.
Person wrote this interesting reply to me before, but deleted it. Basically said I had no loyalty to a company, or anyone.
Assumptious.
Bought every Nintendo console since Snes to now. Every handheld up until now. And all major AAA titles ever put out by them. Apparently that's not loyalty. Fair enough
I don't mind an opinion. But to say I'm not loyal as a fan is crazy 😂
@Anti-Matter This is what I don't understand. When that machine came out, I don't remember anyone batting an eye lid about that controller design.
Its just interesting a lot of the critisism and negativity, is drawn from people who never owned the machine, or even played one.
I can't tell you one person I know, who had negative comments to say about that pad. It worked well, and it's design was cutting edge at the time.
A bad control pad was the Atari Jaguar.
I don't understand how anyone could look at N64 pad, and not know how to hold it.
The dual shock pad is great for everything bar first person shooters. When you strafe right, and look left, your thumbs can touch. The xbox pad fixed that.
But DPad has always been useless on those machines.

That Christmas, I couldn't put this down.
Fond memories of this game.
Re: Random: The Switch On Phil Spencer's Shelf Was A Gift From Nintendo
The biggest thing holding it back is Nintendo of Japan.
Nintendo of America would be there in a heart beat.

Great machine.
Was a good time.
Re: Nintendo Teases Mario Kart Tour's Brand-New City Course
Looks like Newcastle Upon Tyne
Re: The Balan Wonderworld Demo Is Being Taken Down Today
Nowhere near as bad as its made out to be.
Should of sold for £19.99.
The full price, and issues really sank this game.

Switch Pro.
Its not happening.
Re: Hitchhiker Gives A Thumbs-Up For An Imminent Switch Release
Ted Bundy: The Game.
Re: Cuphead Will Have An Awesome Decade-Long 'Animated' Museum Exhibit
Good game.
Punishing how difficult it can be though.
The only problem with it.
Re: Nintendo Still Isn't Totally Confident Switch Production Can Keep Pace With Demand
@NEStalgia I don't think it's been confirmed.
Nvidia aren't going to seize production, when it's making them money.
They still make Geforce GT710 and that's ancient.
Re: Random: Halo Instagram Shows Off Amazing Mario X Master Chief Fan Art
I think some Halo Remasters are coming to switch.
I would double dip just for the novelty.
Re: Rumour: Is Something Going On Between Microsoft And Nintendo?
I hope Nintendo don't buy Rare back.
Rare hasn't been Rare for years.
Its not the same people who made Rare special.
Re: Nintendo Still Isn't Totally Confident Switch Production Can Keep Pace With Demand
@Karatecanine This is Nintendo.
They like to save money.
Re: Nintendo Still Isn't Totally Confident Switch Production Can Keep Pace With Demand
More the reason I don't think Switch Pro is coming out.
Why pour cold water on a product which is still so hot?
No reason to upgrade as its selling great.

Re: Every Single Bethesda Game On Switch Is Currently On Sale (Europe)
Shame Nintendo never got Gamepass, as these all would of been free.
But half price, is better than a kick in the nuts I suppose.
Can't help but feel bad I pay £9.99 and get all these for free.
While Nintendo users have to pay £24.99 minimum.
That's just life though.
Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped

Same with the PlayStation Network.

Perfect game.

Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped
@earthinheritor can't really have an opinion then.
Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped
@earthinheritor have you played the full retail version?
Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped
@Strictlystyles Exactly how I feel, it's just like playing a Sega Saturn game.
I understand a lot of the criticism.
I just don't feel it's as bad as its made out to be.
The big issue is that full price tag.
Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped
The press killed sales.
Re: Random: Balan Wonderworld Accused Of Including "Knock-Off" Ghostbusters Song
@VoidofLight exactly most people who do so haven't even played the game.
Same with some reviewers.
Re: Random: Balan Wonderworld Accused Of Including "Knock-Off" Ghostbusters Song
@dragothekomodo
Yeah it's pretty relaxing in short bursts.
I really get Saturn vibes off it, so in that respect I'm biased.
With more time, it could of been a much better.
Probably time restrictions, a small budget, and an average development team.
Re: Random: Balan Wonderworld Accused Of Including "Knock-Off" Ghostbusters Song
I have been playing through this game.
It's basically a Sega Saturn game which has come out now.
Definitely more like a 6 out of 10.
If you have no Sega Saturn nostalgia, then I can understand the hatred.
The biggest issue of this game has been the price point.
If it had released for under £24.99 it would of made sense.
Doesn't feel like a £49.99 game.
Re: Sonic Expands Its Social Media Reach With New Official Channels For Latin America

Better late than never.

@mauhlin12 and I had forgot about that game until now.... 😂
Re: Review: Balan Wonderworld - A Charmless, Confusing Fossil From The Creators Of Sonic
Devil's Third got panned.
I actually thought the single player was about a 7, and the multi was an 8.
Judge for yourself in life.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 27th)
Crash Bandicoot 4
Balan Wonderworld
Super Mario 3D World/Bowsers Fury

Got it arriving in the mail today, will patch it for sure.

Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March
Tatsumi was a way better CEO, same with Iwata and Yamauchi.
This new guy is trying to make Nintendo like Disney.
Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March
@Minecraft_Master Since that new young Japanese CEO got in, the company from a fans perspective has been going down the toilet.
Re: There's Still One Way To Get Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Digital Version After 31st March
Nintendo.
A not very consumer friendly company.
Fan for 27 years, but Nintendo's treatment towards fans have slipped in the past years.
Reminds of how WWE treat fans.
Another product, which has went terrible over the years.
Re: The Original Animal Crossing Could Earn A Spot In The World Video Game Hall Of Fame
@Caboose1979 true.
Isn't Animal Forest more or less the same game?
Re: The Original Animal Crossing Could Earn A Spot In The World Video Game Hall Of Fame
Still my favourite Animal Crossing.
Re: So, What's Happened To Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time's Physical Version In Europe?
@Madder128 just to clarify maybe free only to amazon prime users, the delivery that is.

Just ordered a copy from Amazon America, they deliver to the UK for free.

Bigot.

No physical release, no purchase.
Re: Video: Check Out This Side-By-Side Comparison Of Crash Bandicoot 4 On Switch And PS4 Pro
Does anyone know if this is getting a physical release in the UK?
Re: Xbox's Phil Spencer: 'I Could Have Never Designed The Wii... It Was Just Amazing To See'
