Re: Every Single Bethesda Game On Switch Is Currently On Sale (Europe)

@progx I understand that, definitely great for more casual Gamers.
I actually own most of those games on disc.
But I agree, for guaranteed longevity you need to buy them.

Gamepass is a great idea.
Sort of like Spotify with music.

I held out for years still buying CD and Vinyl.
2016 I finally caved in and got Spotify.
I no longer buy CD, but still buy Vinyl occasionally.

The most games I buy are switch.
I won't buy anything really if its not physical.

@Iggy-Koopa Maybe so.

I have a Series X, Great machine, but it's sat there like a £450 paper weight.
It still doesn't feel next gen, as the majority of the games are previous generation.

Switch by far is the better machine at the moment.

I can't comment on PS5, but it looks great.

I find with Gamepass I only download stuff I might of missed.
Even then, I don't invest a lot of time into it.

I will say though, it's great the pass also works on PC
I have got more use out of it there, than the Series X.

Re: Global Sales Data Suggests Balan Wonderworld Has Massively Flopped

@earthinheritor a review is an opinion, and an opinion is always subjective.

I just don't buy into all these reviews, if I want to try something, I get it and form my own judgement

I honestly think a lot of review sites, copy and paste reviews from each other.

The biggest example before this was Devils Third.
Universally panned.

I went and bought it day one, and you know what it was actually an alright game, with an excellent multiplayer.

A 6 or a 7 for the single player, a solid 8 for the multiplayer.

The press got it wrong, entirely.

I understand people don't want to waste full price on Balan.
I get that, and I understand the criticism.
But I got it day one, and I think it's actually OK.
But it's a £25 game tops.

I grew up in the 90s, and to me this reminds me of a Saturn game. And I'm fine with that.
It's nice to play something like that for a change.

Cyberpunk for a multitude of reasons is worse than Balan.
I bought that, and it was over hyped nonsense, glitched to the hilt.

They had every reason to get that game right. And still messed it up.

Balan was made by a low budget studio, with a big publisher.
What did people really expect?

Cyberpunk is the bigger travesty.
A massive budget, and talented developers.

They turned out a dud.

I just feel how can you ever truly cast an opinion if you haven't played the full game?

It would be like casting an opinion on a new film you haven't went to see.
Or casting an opinion based off a film trailer, without watching the full film.

I don't think you can form an opinion off that.

I'm not knocking you, or other people.
But I do think people are quick to jump on a band wagon, and go off with the media circus on this.

I doubt even 50% of the press have even played Balan properly.
Its just so easy to churn someone else's review into another review.

Balan for me is about a 6 tops.
But it's definitely not a 3.

I have been playing through this game.
It's basically a Sega Saturn game which has come out now.
Definitely more like a 6 out of 10.

If you have no Sega Saturn nostalgia, then I can understand the hatred.

The biggest issue of this game has been the price point.
If it had released for under £24.99 it would of made sense.
Doesn't feel like a £49.99 game.

@Anti-Matter This is what I don't understand.
When that machine came out, I don't remember anyone batting an eye lid about that controller design.

Its just interesting a lot of the critisism and negativity, is drawn from people who never owned the machine, or even played one.

I can't tell you one person I know, who had negative comments to say about that pad.
It worked well, and it's design was cutting edge at the time.

A bad control pad was the Atari Jaguar.

I don't understand how anyone could look at N64 pad, and not know how to hold it.

The dual shock pad is great for everything bar first person shooters.
When you strafe right, and look left, your thumbs can touch.
The xbox pad fixed that.

But DPad has always been useless on those machines.
