Remember when we told you that Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel had racked up 4 million downloads? Well, you can scratch that, because Konami has just revealed that it has now passed 10 million downloads across all formats. Cor!
Master Duel is available on all major consoles, PC and smartphones – which would go some way to explaining how it has managed to shift so many units in less than a month. Oh, and it's free to play, which will also have helped massively, we'd imagine.
Here's some PR:
Konami Digital Entertainment is pleased to announce that Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL has now achieved more than 10 million downloads worldwide. The critically acclaimed collectable card game reached the milestone figure in less than 3 weeks since launching on 19 January.
To celebrate the news, KONAMI has launched an in-game 10 Million Download Campaign. Log in to Yu-Gi-Oh! MASTER DUEL between now and 31 March 2022 to receive a 1000 Gems bonus!
We gave the game a cautious recommendation in our review and have also put together a guide for anyone jumping in as a beginner. You can check out both below.

Just got to wait for the NFTs to roll in for Konami to screw it up.
Really? People like this cash grab bait? This is the WORST one.
@HarvestGoddess Quite simply people have been waiting for an official TCG simulator that will have a supported competitive scene. other games like Legacy of The Duelist are more fleshed out in other respects but won't see competitive play.
All good drug dealers use these tactics.
I want to give some perspective from a long time yugioh fan.
The game REALLY is amazing, Konami finally did it right. They released so many yugioh games but this one really nailed it, I would say this is comparable to games like Heartstone. I'm very happy with this and hope Konami will support it for a long time.
Yes it is F2P but the game is quite generous with the gems, I have build many of my favourite decks without spending a dime.
@LordPieFace That may be true, but when I can get the game on Playstation, have a massive arsenal of cards at my disposal, and still duel friends, I am not going to bother with this. I think its a huge waste of money unless they package codes in actual physical cards you can buy.
@HarvestGoddess You can make any deck you want or two or three of them with the free gems it happily gives you. I got my Hero deck exactly how i wanted it within a few hours with no grind and in my 50+ hours with the game so far i've spent nothing as the game is generous with what it gives you.
@WallyWest You get a bunch of gems/CPs/cards frontloaded right out the gate just from doing tutorial/solo mode/first few log ins so they can keep the players initially, but issue is there is definitely gonna be a resource bottle neck after all those one time rewards are exhausted especially when you need to farm more UR craft points since plenty of decks can be expensive for the the URs required.
You can make a few meta decks, but thing is just like with Duel Links metas are expected here to rapidly change. Spent UR points for three copies of MAXX C? Sucks but Konami decides to limit it to 1 next balance for instance. Then you realize you need new staples and pulling cards becomes much more of a hassle now compared when started nevermind your decide to build another deck at that point
@Arawn93 I mean just like in real life you work around what you don't have, there's been times in real life where i had to use a budget version of a better card because i didn't have £100 to throw on a single card even if its a massive stable. With Master Duel you can at least craft any card, 3 UR pulls isn't impossible or hard to get. End of the day its F2P so they do want you spending at some point, they do actually give a lot of content for free so its not like they give a rubbish Blue Eyes deck as a starter and then demand money.
@WallyWest Your guaranteed at least one UR card every 20 10 pulls [2000 Gem sink], but pull rate is in the 2% range for UR so there is a good chance you won’t get a UR until pity which happened plenty of time to people including myself that would just get a bunch of SRs.
Times that by three and you are looking at possibility of 6000 gems just to craft a single UR which is a good amount of real money worth of gems if luck is not with you
I know it’s frontloaded freebie so you are not stuck with a crap vanilla monster deck, but you are bottlenecked after you make your first couple decks depending on how many URs your deck needs. Meta balance changes is also a constant threat that can limit cards you already invested for three copies for which Konami is known for doing since Duel Links
I read that as "giving away games to celebrate" before clicking. Disappointed.
I downloaded it, but have not yet played it - and probably won't.
