Re: Nintendo Accused Of Allowing "Pirated Software On The eShop" By GBA Emulator Developer

Livewired

@GameCollector84 Not quite. He wrote the code and made it available, one can't control what the masses using it will do.

The fact is a large corporation, flooded with money, stole and packaged the emulator and are profitting on it. Let's not forget Sonic Mania was a fan project and Sega hired the team to make it a fully fledged official release.

It says for commercial use to contact, how difficult would that be?

Re: F-Zero Isn't Dead - It's Just Sleeping, Says Nintendo Legend Takaya Imamura

Livewired

@YANDMAN well we have two problems - how can one improve on F Zero GX?

The Nintendo Switch or Nintendo network couldn't handle the required 30 racers in online mode.

I would say that is the two sticking points. Releasing an F Zero game now with only 12 opponents would be an embarrassment, Nintendo are likely 3 generations away from having the setup to support that.

Re: Rumour: Is Something Going On Between Microsoft And Nintendo?

Livewired

@RandomNerds Do you really think Rare or Nintendo want the return of the collectathons part 2? Sure it was good for the dawn of 3d but life has long since moved on.

The ex Banjo team brought us Yookalaylee and proved they learnt nothing in 20+ years of game making. The GE team are over at Dambuster...

Re: New Fan-Made Zelda Mod Transforms Wind Waker Into Ocarina Of Time

Livewired

@Azuris well, not so fast partner. Don't pile all games in with Nintendo's disasterous attempts at realism.

There are many games with 'realistic' graphics, produced in the last 20 years that look artistically great today.

Nintendo realism was never good because they can't create textures above a few smudges for *****. They're better sticking to toon texturing.

Prime example - Twilight Princess on GCN - it was as horrifically textured as OOT which was a disgrace compared to Banjo Kazooie in 1998!!! TP is arguably the worst textured game of all time, hence why Nintendo employed Straight Right to remaster it on Wii U - and it looks stunning.

The GCN had the best texturing capability in its generation, Rogue Squadron, Star Fox et all had bump mapping, everything... and TS2 even had it along with impressive texture detailing lol.

Then Nintendo release Twilight disgust. Atleast it put them straight.

Re: Rumour: The Latest Switch Firmware Update Has Apparently Added Bluetooth Audio Support

Livewired

@Ghost_of_Hasashi now that's just silly.

Nintendo are in the hardware market and take great pride in that.

The problem is they like to do it on the cheap, they always cut corners and always will do to save that 0.01p hence why nothing they have is half standardised, heck they only started supporting full rgb, and only entered HD 8 years ago lol.

If composite out was still available and cheaper than HDMI Nintendo would not have a HDMI console they are that tight, FACT ROFL.

Re: Rumour: The Latest Switch Firmware Update Has Apparently Added Bluetooth Audio Support

Livewired

@JayJ it's standard Nintendo practice. Every gen they hold something back to make it a sales feature for the next.

For GCN they wouldn't embrace 16:9 or online.

Wii's big feature alongside motion control was 16:9 and online.

Wii U, purposely locked their Mario games to 720p and forced limited Rgb signal to make Switch look like a bigger jump with its standard full rgb signal. It's all basic tactics.

Gba - no backlight, only 2 buttons, 2 triggers,
Ds - low back light, 4 buttons, 2 triggers, no stick
3ds - one stick!!!
Switch - no bluetooth audio

See where I'm going, you can see a clear path for the next Switch iteration.

I'd say likely this is for Switch Pro.

Re: Xbox Says It's "More Important Than Ever" To Preserve Gaming Icons And Classics

Livewired

@Lemonyoshi lol, well, considering this is about PRESERVATION the Banjo games are easily accessible on Xbox Store and Gamepass, complete with 4K60 upgrades for Xbox One X and Series X owners.

The OG BK even runs in widescreen, analogue camera with full draw distance - something Nintendo couldn't be arsed doing with Super Mario 64.

The next Banjo has to be timed right... And didn't MS have Banjos original designer update him for Smash bros?

You can't deny Microsoft pushed the boat right out there for fan service.

Re: 8BitDo Reveals Its New "Pro 2" Bluetooth Controller, Compatible With Switch

Livewired

@Tim_Vreeland Nintendo don't do anything unless its CHEAP. The fixes are only temporary and they are still using the same cheap ass parts, being repaired in a sweat shop in China for pennies.

Have you looked inside a Joycon???? I have and it is DISGUSTING. The inards are cheaply designed, the parts are bargain basement and zero quality, even the ribbon cables are the thinnest I have ever seen. Literally it costs less than 10p to make the Joycons including labour. PURE FISHER PRICE GARBAGE.

Of course Nintendo can fix them and still profit - 1000% PROFIT !!!!!!

Re: Video: This Is What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like Running At 8K With Ray Tracing Enabled

Livewired

@COVIDberry that is the view of Nintendo Switch fans... They'll all be running for the anti depressants soon to ease their pain lol.

They don't like better graphics, hate the Switch Pro, hated the idea of a Switch lite, hate improvement, hate change, hate better technology... Hate life? 😭😂😂😂😂😂😂

God help them when Nintendo release a new system altogether. End of the world.

Re: Video: This Is What Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Looks Like Running At 8K With Ray Tracing Enabled

Livewired

@Real_Obsi Ray tracing offers the flexibility of realism and/or artistic flair. It looks better than Nintendo's lazy lighting attempts by by default.

Nintendo don't have a clue about lighting and texturing so raytracing would really help them. I'd say this guy has more power in his PC than Nintendo have across their entire company - if only Nintendo would invest in up skilling their employees and in house technology.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Pro "Will Have Exclusives", Says Insider

Livewired

@sixrings well I don't think Xbox have to do that much to be honest. XBOX is a brand and purchasing an Xbox console is merely one way to play Xbox games and join the Xbox ecosystem, I have Xbox Gamepass Ultimate, and use it on both my Xbox One X and gaming PC. And I think there were a good 50 million Xbox One consoles sold so they did just fine.

Re: Nintendo Of America Appears To Be Shutting Down Its Support Forums

Livewired

@PALversusNTSC NINTENDO ARE CHEAP SKATES - Nintendo are the ultimate company for cutting corners and cheaping out, a company of half measures.

Downgrading the SNES CPU and crippling it.
N64 - Removing RGB, gimping the RAM, cutting the Sound chip (forcing a minimum of 10% cpu resources to sound, refusing to go with cd (wouldn't pay for licensing) Holding back vital development tools to look better than 3rd parties.
GCN - wouldn't pay license for DVD, went mini as slightly cheaper, took ages to sort out a deal with Dolby. Purposely withheld 16:9 to make Wii look like an upgrade.
Wii - Component lead and RGB scart, 11th hour addition due to major fan backlash as Wii was going to be composite only, vastly gimped output compared to GCN. No digital out.
Wii U - cheaped out on RAM, went tri core instead of Quad, measely 40GB of onboard memory which was purposely speed limited to usb 2.0 to match HDD which is what most owners would have to use, no Dolby license lol, purposely held back visuals to 720p, spent a year butchering the sheika slate from Wii U version of Zelda instead of optimisation to make Switch look impressive, digital triggers.
Switch - cheap drifting sticks, cheap breakable buttons, triggers designed to break, digital triggers, fisher price build, less accurate motion controllers than Wii, gimped SD not HD sound.

Re: Nintendo Isn't Backing Down On Its Decision To Pull Mario Products From Stores This Month

Livewired

@AtlanteanMan can't throw all companies in the same pot. Look at Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate, the most consumer friendly subscription service available and Microsoft keep all their classics permanently on it. Also I will add all those back compatible games, free if you already own with resolution/framerate upgrades and lots of other bells and whistles sneaked in. You'll never see Nintendo do that.

Re: Nintendo Isn't Backing Down On Its Decision To Pull Mario Products From Stores This Month

Livewired

@Kiyata Remakes??? There are none, if they released good remakes I wouldn't complain. They used to do remasters, Twilight Princess was the last by Straight Right and it was flawlessly done.

What we get now aren't even remasters, we get games that they downloaded from rom sites running on slightly tweaked open source emulators and fan made control mods and Nintendo are praised.

People were willing to pay £60 for a cash grab. My Wii U runs an injected fan made widescreen mod of Super Mario 64 at 60fps... Nintendo couldn't even be arsed to do that.
