As someone who grew up with the SNES I’d like to point out that Super Mario Kart was a stand out multiplayer game for the console, the battle mode was a wild concept and should have been mentioned in this review.

Yeah sure the original is timeless, but I've played that hundreds of times already, bring on the remake!!!

@EvilSilentFrame I'd say to expect 25-30 hours for each, quicker if you use the EXP multiplier.

While i'm not a fan of the reworked sprites, interface, and even the new pixel font (I find it all looks a bit generic and low-budget), I'm excited to revisit 1, 4, and 6 with the updated scripts and music.

Gotta be honest, I can’t even bring myself to complete the base game. Wish it was shorter like the original cause the game got old for me fast.

@ricklongo a lot of the gameplay is puzzle solving under the timed pressure of being on rails while trying to get a specific shot or open a branching path (kinda like Starfox 64 but way more interactions). I wish there was a demo for this one.

By that definition Metroid is an RPG

I think the character models look like hot garbage and the environments look ... ok, reminds me of the quality you’d expect from a story of seasons game not a triple A studio. I have nothing against chibi graphics btw. I just don’t find the proportions in this particular execution appealing at all.

The environments look great, but I just cant handle the character models, I’m out. 🤮

The dungeons are bit shorter but there’s more meat in between each dungeon which made some people feel like the game was dragging compared to previous entries. I encourage people to go in with an open mind and judge the game for its own merits, and not what was established before. It’s my favourite Zelda game and an absolute gem!

SS is amazing and I hope people give the game a chance, it’s one of my favourites. Otherwise, I thought the direct was ok, 6.5/10

I dunno, it depends how much is involved. Also, if you’re just smashing the A button without exploring battle strategies then you deserve to grind.

My left Joy con and both my pro controllers drift, it’s super annoying. I literally have to blow into the joysticks like an old NES cartridge to get them to work temporarily lol

I love 3D Mario games, but I’ve never liked sunshine, I always lose interest. Hopefully I’ll come around this time.

I really prefer this look over the cell shaded original. I don’t think it looks boring at all. Does that mean cell shading = interesting? I doubt it.

Sonic looks ridiculous

What’s with the low poly count in the background? Reminds me of an HD wii game like skyward sword. The art direction is also super disappointing with a weird mix of realism and cartoon, but doesn’t come across as stylized to me, like they couldn’t commit to a direction.

I can’t stand them, they look completely bored and don’t even know what they’re talking about. How’d they even get this job?

Huge fan of the art direction, the toy like aesthetic plays on the toy like feel of the gameboy. I’m surprised so many people are turned off by it. The proportions are spot on to the original, seems very logical to me.

Thanks for this guide, was struggling without it. I’m loving this game but only ranked in the top ten once so far. Will do better now!

@CodyDogg my number 7 is a benefit not an argument, as is everything in my original post. You’re taking my point about nothing being physical anymore out of context, I’m referring to media: movies, music, books, photo albums and so on. I also prefaced It all by stating I was a casual gamer which is why swapping games instantly is a benefit. I promise you that the 0.0000005 calories you burn from physically swapping cartridges (exagerating, obviously I don’t know exact numbers but people are taking things at face value) will NOT benefit anyone in the long term, incidental or not, why not toss out all remotes in your house if you are so concerned? This is what I was challenged on and hopefully you can see why I was annoyed.

This isn’t a revision, I’m guessing it’s a new product meant to live alongside the switch. A dedicated portable successor to the 3ds that plays switch games. I would love that.
