I liked this game when it had less complicated stuff around 2012. Still like it but I feel like the game was perfect and the copper stuff could be left for mods like Tekkit.
I'm in Australia so I'm around the same timezone as Japan, give or take an hour.
Lobbies are sometimes full on Monday to Thursday but sometimes barren.
Weekends are packed in Splatoon, Mario Kart etc with Japanese, Australians and Americans.
13 million Wii U owners is still a lot of people, with Mario Kart and Splatoon selling 5 million + each. That's a lot of people with free access to online gaming.
@Lawnachaun I agree it's fun and there's no problem putting so much time into something you enjoy, I just didn't realise it had so much content. It was one of those games I played through and just glossed over after that.
@0blivion They aren't predatory here....we have something called consumer law.
And by online do you mean digital or online ordering. Digital games are only good for small games.
Online ordering, well my options are those same stores or order from a store in another state that will cost me shipping so I think I'll stick with brick and mortar retail.
@0blivion I hope not. Gamestop, known as EB Games here is the only spot where I can get preowned games, few year old games or gaming accessories anymore.
The only other big store is an electronic retailer that sells game copies for 1-2 years max then chucks them.
@Valhalla91 Nintendo lost a lot of core consumers during the N64-Gamecube era to Playstation and only got some of them back with the Wii DS and 3DS. The Wii U didn't help them much either. 100m would be a fine number for this console, especially since its going up against two separate generations of Playstation, who have dominated the industry since the N64 era.
@Valhalla91 Yes it is impressive. The Switch is portable yes but does not touch the DS's portability and ability to fit in your pocket so it has slightly less appeal for commutes.
Lets not forget the Switch is competing against the PS4 one of the best selling consoles of all time and soon the PS5 (don't see Xbox as a threat to its momentum), the 3DS competed against the failed PS VITA and the Wii had core gamers and casuals on board so it just dominated early, with the PS3 having a bad start.
@Rhaoulos Soon it will just be Sony to "compete" with. I don't see Xbox continuing its hardware after this generation sadly, I think the Switch and Ps5 will kill it and force them to move to software like Sega.
I've always had the thought that when this new generation of consoles comes, generations are going to get a few years longer as we hit a plateau at technological improvement.
@Heavyarms55 Absolutely true. Nintendo's failed consoles like the N64 have had great games, maybe even timeless games, sure, but they also had little to no third party support and very long first party software droughts.
The Switch has a game worth getting come out every couple months with a lot of anticipated games still to come. It is flying.
@Snakesglowcaps Spot on. Sick of people whinging about the supposed poor state of this game and the lack of releases by Nintendo this year when there's a global pandemic. Do they all live under a rock?
@Rhaoulos so you're passing your opinion off as fact, trying to tell me it is a worse game, no? Who decides whether it is a good game or not? Clearly the consumer and critical majority disagree with you.
It is still not my favourite mario but people on the internet love making assumptions.
@Papichulo
I agree with the opening of Sunshine, the game is not as polished as other Mario games but I found the rest of the game very fun.
I can understand your view on Galaxy, I still enjoy it of course but Galaxy 2 feels like a fully realised version.
64 is definitely a masterpiece. People can pick on the shoddy camera all they want but I have played ALOT of recent AAA games and none match up the the flexibility and enjoyment that one gets out of controlling Mario in 64.
BTW i know that youtube video had good intentions of what a Mario 64 remake could look like, but compared to Nintendo's graphical design it looks awful in comparison haha.
Couldn't care less that it is emulation. Other (legal) alternative is to buy a preowned console and copy of these games.
Nintendo fans expect decades of libraries on a silver platter because of the Wii's Virtual Console offerings, when Sony has never offered such a thing. Just saying.

@FredsBodyDouble where did you get that number from?
Re: Switch Was Outsold By PS5 And Xbox Series X|S In The UK Last Month
New console that has barely enough units to supply demand outsells console with 90 million units already sold over 4 years.

Re: Nintendo E3 2021 Direct To Air 15th June
@tadams587 Especially when the last Zelda was one of the best games I've ever played.
Re: Nintendo E3 2021 Direct To Air 15th June
@Nitwit13 Yeah I'm East as well. Have work that day and we are likely going to be out of of lockdown.
I will be very sleep deprived!
Re: Nintendo E3 2021 Direct To Air 15th June
There'll be one or two surprises like usual.
Please give me a Star Fox!

We are going to get Rayman in Smash and a new Star Fox ladies and gentlemen.
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Sales Remain Strong As Next-Gen Systems Hit The Market
Switch is on such a good roll it isn't even funny. Fully expect it to pass PS4's lifetime sales.
PS5 looks set to dominate Xbox yet again.
Re: Microsoft Won't Be Taking Bethesda's Games Away From Nintendo Platforms
@elpardo1984 That was my point exactly. Nintendo's hardware and software sales barely detract from Microsofts.
Re: Microsoft Won't Be Taking Bethesda's Games Away From Nintendo Platforms
Bet they'll be on everything but their main competition: Playstation.
Re: Nintendo Australia Is Closing Down Its eBay Store Later This Month
I never knew we had one. I just rang them up for repairs lol.
Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Isn't Coming To Switch After All
@Alucard83 Duly noted.
Wii U could run BO2, Batman Arkham, Watch Dogs and Mass Effect 3.
But apparently it can't run Mass Effect 1 and 2. Interesting isn't it.
Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Isn't Coming To Switch After All
EA should just admit they hate Nintendo.
Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Wii Games
Pikmin 2 and RE4 in the top 10 over Brawl. Joke.

Re: What's Up With The Frame Rate In The Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity Demo?
@Lawnachaun one must ask how you have 300+ hours on that game.
I have less than 40 on the Wii U version.

1. Mario 64
2. OoT
3. Star Fox 64
4. Goldeneye
5. Banjo-Kazooie
Re: Someone Is Already Playing Need For Speed On Switch, And It's Not Out Until Next Month
@durr GTA V on PS3 made me extremely sick because of how choppy the framerate was when driving.
Last gen framerate has turned me off from racing sims.

Switch and PS5 will last around 8 years minimum.

13/15, I was certain Steve was two blocks tall.

You're right! Lets get Sony to do the same thing and remove every Uncharted game, Metal Gear Solid game, Last of Us, because they are all on PS3!
....Not.
Re: Young Impa Revealed As A Playable Character In Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity
I think its confirmed in the BOTW universe now that the older you get, the wider your head becomes.
Re: Genshin Impact Dev Responds To Breath Of The Wild Clone Comments, Insists It's A "Very Different" Experience
Well it won't impact BOTW or its legacy at all since it won't sell anywhere near what that game sold, so who cares.

Prepare for waves of bad players on all platforms when this is F2P.
Re: Random: Switch Owners Are Discovering Just How Frustrating Super Mario Sunshine Can Be
Probably the most unpolished Mario ever yet still one of the most fun.
Re: Nintendo Currently Has "No Plans" To End Online Services For The 3DS
No need to. People still play online and the eShop is apart of the Wii U and Switches.

Re: Random: Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Cartridge Is Rubbing People Up The Wrong Way
@Andymad is your tv in game mode? It may help a little bit. 64 runs fine in standard and game mode on my tv so I can't say what your issue is.

@graysoncharles Poor wording on my part. Nintendo have also offered similar in the past.
The disappointing thing is neither company even offers those same games on their next-gen systems.
