I'll get my only issue with this review out of the way first, the reviewer says charge attack is useless....thats completely false. It's not only useful it's necessary. Your character speed is slow and charging up attack barely affects movement, and the charge attack DEFLECTS projectiles which is extremely useful, plus it does a ton of damage all at once making boss fights much easier, AND there's an item you can obtain that makes charge attack fire a massive shockwave. This item adds +10 damage to the already powerful charge attack if you use it up close. But this item allows you to completely change strategy and gives you a ranged attack. Ok that said...I agree with the rest of this review, which is quite a rare thing. However it's only 1.99 and i think it's worth that. I do agree that it could and should be better, and that it really does feel like it was only half developed and they launched it anyway.
They should have went through with it. There are currently TWO indie developers hard at work RIGHT NOW making the final entries into 3ds eShop. It's a shame that this studio wont be contributing to the final 3ds games. Currently it's "Sungrand studios" and "Luke Vincent", both are one man game studios. It's unclear which game "Sungrand" will go with. But "Luke Vincent" has had his game in development for awhile and imo it looks MAGNIFICENT. It's an open world exploration and third person shooter. He recently released a 23 second ALL ganeplay mini trailer on YouTube. Search for "Automaton Lung" on YouTube and it'll pop up. I am very much looking forward to it and it looks amazing considering he's a low resource one man studio. 3ds hasn't died yet folks, I urge you to check out the final entries!
Wow....I'm used to seeing reviews that are completely unfair and silly but this one really stands out. 6/10...on a game that is possibly the most impressive Gameboy game ever made. It's an actual fully realized Metroidvania world that is a joy to explore. It has tight controls, interesting combat, huge variety of gameplay with the animal transformations, a great story, and unbelievably good game performance. This is one of the super rare occasions that I'd give a 9/10 or even a perfect 10. I'm so tired of seeing clueless reviewers that have no concept of "GAME CONTEXT". The era in which it was released, the hardware limitations of that era, the sort of gaming concepts that were either brand new or non existent at the time. You have a job that others dream of, reviewing games for a living. This is a nearly perfect game and yet you don't seem to grasp that. You really shouldn't be allowed to work as a game reviewer, someone could miss out on this brilliant game because you apparently have no understanding of what makes a game any good. It's been a long time since I've came upon a review that has irritated me as much as this.
Its a great game and it looks fine. What is with this childish whining about graphics? Do I enjoy great visuals? Heck yeah. Do I enjoy retro 6 or 8 bit graphics? Heck yeah. Do I enjoy low resource studio indie games with atrocious graphics but tight and interesting gameplay, such as 3ds recent eShop release "Harold Reborn"? Heck yeah. Do I like boring repetitive games that are graphically beautiful? No... Graphics come second to gameplay for any real fan of what games are all about. This remaster doesn't even look bad. Sure if this articles author wants to mention once that in their opinion the graphics COULD be better, that's fine. But the article seems to focus on that more than anything else, even referencing it in the title of the article. It's completely ridiculous and irrelevant. Nobody is going to like or dislike Chrono Cross because a rope does or doesn't appear jagged.
Still a great game in 2022. 3ds is my favorite console and I have an absurd collection of physical and digital games that I've amassed over the 8 or 9 years I've been playing my 3ds. Somehow this game eluded me until a few days ago. It's extremely good and imo nothing like punch out, but I guess it's hard to compare it to anything else. The easy mode is too easy but gives a good training on how to counter later on. I found it very satisfying to learn when and what move can stop an enemies attack or how to dodge their attacks. The variety is massive and it's so great that it still holds up so loooong after it's release
Very interesting game with satisfying combat. I would've liked it to be a bit more maneuverable, such as being able to to freely fly up higher or dive downward but other than that it controls very well. Looks great too imo, maybe not as beautiful as kid Icarus flight sections but it's not an "on rails" type so it's very forgivable to have lesser visuals. It's fairly short but it's also fairly cheap so it feels right. There are surprisingly few games of this genre so I would def recommend this to anyone that likes stylus aiming games
Games like this were loved by my generation....but I'm 36 and most younger gamers just don't understand vintage or vintage style games. The ones that do appreciate them still don't really understand it in the same way. I am happy about Metroid dread being so well received, it's a vintage style game imo. But why has the 3ds Metroid return of Samus not seen the same appreciation? They are almost the exact same gameplay. Maybe Nintendo will release it on switch eventually and it will...who knows. I know RN I'm playing 2 vintage style games "ambition of the slimes" and an unknown indie game "Elliot quest" and I'm more excited About the new indie 3ds game "automaton lung" than I am about any mainstream games for switch or PS.
I love my 3 different 3ds models and have acquired a HUGE cartridge and eShop game collection. I thought I'd found every game worth playing but just this week...a new game "Moonbound" is released which I really like. Then I discovered the quirky masterpiece tactical RPG "ambition of the slimes"...and now this game "Elliot Quest". Im really enjoying it so far. I actually really like it's difficulty level and the whole feel of the game is smooth and works well. It's extremely late in 3ds lifespan but it's still my favorite system of ALL time and it makes me very happy to find little gems like this to play while I wait on the LAST two serious indie 3ds developers to finish their final contributions to 3ds eShop library. Keep eye out for a new (the 3rd) "Silver Falls" series entry on 3ds and a brand new game from the maker of the excellent 3d platformer "Harold's walk" and it's absolutely incredible huge sequel "Harold Reborn". His new game is called "automaton lung" and little is known yet, but it's 3d open world that looks seriously excellent from the few screenshot previews he has shown....it's not a Harold game but that's about all we know. Keep your eyes open 3ds fans....it ain't over yet 🙂
Whahahaha....imagine having that save file becoming corrupted...4 years lost. I used to love playing Minecraft on my 3ds...then my save file somehow became corrupt and I had no backup. I havnt played it anymore since. I don't mind running into glitches, in fact some of my all time favorite games are considered a "glitchy mess" by others lol. But for whatever reason...I just couldn't or wouldn't tolerate it in a game like Minecraft.
I had somehow overlooked this game despite priding myself on owning and knowing EVERY great 3ds cartridge and eShop game. I'm glad I finally discovered this. It's a clever game and I love it. If you like adorable games that are seriously challenging it's a must play.
Oh god no lol....anyways I had a cool dream last night about MegaMan. I dreamed there was a a 3d open world first person view MegaMan Game coming out. In my dream it was on 3ds lol but Switch would be the obvious real life choice. Imo if done well, that could be really cool.
Well they did a fantastic job with prime 3 imo. It's one of best looking and best controlling game on Wii. When trilogy came out it def showed the difference between echoes and prime 3 but it really wasn't a next gen difference. The 3 console prime games are some of my ALL time favorite games. Even the DS prime hunters was great. They proved raw power doesn't mean you can't make something great. The art design alone made ALL if them look incredible despite the hardware.
I've probly commented before but after spending a significant amount of time playing this game I had to comment again. Such an impressive game. It all works so well...I've played lots of random generated games and they are usually quite glitchy in some way. But not here...in countless hours (well over 100 hours), I've had almost no problems, couple freezes but nothing else. The gameplay fails to stagnate even after all this time. It's very rare for me to keep returning to a game over such long period of time. Only a few games on 3ds have held my interest for so long. This game deserves higher than 8/10 imo. It's almost perfect. I'd give it 10/10 but there are times when it becomes too frustrating, it's rare but it happens. Being locked out of upgrade rooms without a key in entire level is fine....once but when happens two or 3 times in a row it's best to just restart. That's barely a complaint but it is an annoyance
In the 3ds Metroid return of Samus, which is VERY similar gameplay to Metroid Dread. There are some cool things you can do like this. I never documented them but I've played thru it many times and def did some weird out of order stuff. In that game there's purple acid that is supposed to keep you from going further until you kill all the metroids and put their DNA into a console that then drains it. But if you have enough E tanks you can just barely get through some parts without dying and get things out of order. There's one or two spots where you can do it with the lava too and grab some ammo upgrades early. I'm sure someone has posted in detail about shortcuts in return of Samus somewhere online
I always defend "Metroid otherM " since it's release. It's problems are obvious, fan splitting Samus behavior and cutscenes that are NOT skippable the first time thru the game. And while the bottleship is quite impressive and large...there just isn't enough emphasis on exploration....at least not until the first final boss is killed and Samus comes back with super bomb ability , then you actually get a decent navigation challenge and entire map to explore again. The good tho....i loved the controls, I loved the fps view at any time. I loved the bottleship and it's holographic environments, very cool. The dodging ability, the interesting enemies, and even YES some parts of the story were great....just not so much the Samus origin part. OtherM is NOT a bad game overall by any definition but it does have glaring annoyances. Metroid prime: federation force on the 3ds is a MUCH better debate. It's not ALL bad either, but it has ridiculous things to legitimately complain about. So many pure NONSENSICAL decisions in that game made it very HATED
I find this a bit upsetting tbh. Metroid is a brilliant franchise and my favorite OF ALL video game series. Metroid prime is my number one favorite game of all time and of course the side scrolling ones rank rather high as well. These games require hard work but they know what we want by now....the pressure on these ppl is unnecessary and petty. The problems with "Metroid prime 4" dev had me really worried and it seems to go MUCH deeper. Nintendo used to be ABOVE this sort of problem but it seems they are becoming more and more like Sony and Microsoft. FIX THIS while you still have the chance. We had some disappointments with Metroid prime federation force and Metroid: otherM but they weren't THOSE types of problems. Stop the toxic pressure atmosphere and VALUE the workers...respect the IP....and maybe you can recreate what Nintendo used to be just a short time ago. Metroid Dread and Metroid Samus returns are EXCELLENT games...but you can't keep this up with stories like these marring one of Nintendos best series.
Metroid prime is my favorite game series. Prime 1 is my favorite game ever, it's fantastic on the Wii. All of them are. I do wish they kept echoes the same. I remember battling that game for months to beat it, incredible experience. Games like echoes are so rare, it was really long and super difficult. Sanctuary fortress is crazy and you never even see it until you are really far in. These games need to see switch release they are ALL masterpieces, even prime 3 is amazing but is the weakest of the 3
He looks like the Gerber baby but as a man. It's too ridiculous, I remember seeing it when I was young and laughing at it. I don't think the artist had any idea what he was supposed to draw. Like did he even see the game
I just got it from eShop on whim because was on sale for super cheap. File size was outragous and took a FULL day to download but it was absolutely worth it. It's far better than I was expecting and it's seriously a graphically impressive game on portable mode and TV mode. It starts off linear but it becomes a wonderful open map after awhile and it works so damn well. It's clearly made for online co op, but I'm playing it solo offline with A.I companion and it's no less enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend this game.....but get a physical copy lol, it was truly a pain to download this
I hadn't played the original on GameCube and for some reason I even had it confused with the odd game "Mario is missing" and thus I figured I would NEVER go near it. Then I played the Darkmoon sequel on 3ds and loved it so I knew I'd need to give the original a chance. I actually like the new 3ds remake of the original more than dark moon. It has a feature that a very DIVISIVE Metroid game has where you can look around the 2.5d environment in first person and I absolutely love that. This game has excellent visuals and runs very well. It would be nice if it had more extra modes but all in all its a fantastic 3ds game
Mario 64 was impressive enough on its own on DS. Remember super Mario 3d land on 3ds? It looked very very similar to the Mario galaxy games in gameplay, graphics and stages. I thought for sure we would see both galaxy games on 3da but it never happened. I guess cause they wanted for switch but still. This easily could've been on 3ds but it's a miracle to see that happen on regular DS hardware. What's next? Metroid prime 1 on DS?
I loved Kirby's adventure on nes and was great to get on 3ds. Imo it was one of best Kirby games and best Nes games period. I still remember getting it when I was a kid and I was so amazed at how good and different it was than every game i had.
It's silly...but I think looks cool. We've had road construction in same spots for last....15 years or so, I say screw it and get some warp pipes around here, money better spent imo
It's unfortunate that ppl don't have the knowledge of what is required to port game or to make an HD port. It's not cut and paste. The difference of how games were run in Wii Metroid prime 3, GameCubes first two Metroid primes are extreme in difference compared to switch. Imo I think it WILL still happen, I think someone will cleverly find a way....as life often does....but it's not going to be like switching on the kitchen light. Idk where these Jurassic Park references came from but it's late...I'm tired.
Please NO Metroid movie or shows. Samus talked enough in "otherM" for a lifetime and we are lucky that didn't destroy Nintendo's best (imo) game series. Metroid is the BEST and also one of the most underused of Nintendo's assets...aside from Starfox and fzero...now those could absolutely be decent movies or shows but please save Samus for the gaming world
@Bizaster 🙂. I'm also playing Xenoblade ...but on 3ds. I played it originally on Wii years and years ago and was so impressed to see such a huge great game on Wii hardware, so when came time that I wanted to play it again I wanted to be impressed with it running on underpowered software again. So I chose the 3ds version and just like before I was blown away how they got the every inch of the world to run perfectly with NO LOAD times on 3ds
Xenoblade chronicles on 3DS. I first played it years AND years ago on Wii and it was so impressive to see such an enormous map size and quality on a Wii game. . So when I decided to replay it I wanted to be impressed all over again, I could've gotten it for Switch and enjoyed HD visuals...but there are lots of beautiful switch games with huge maps. So I opted for 3ds version, and ONCE again I'm incredibly impressed by such a huuuuge game running on such underpowered hardware. It's slightly lower res than original version but the ENTIRE world of bionis and mechonis are intact and it's such a massive joy to play such a technical marvel on 3ds.
Monster Hunter rise is great but tbh I found some of it too easy, but it's still fantastic and enough of a challenge to be well worth the many many hours. To be fair though I'm picky about MH, I didn't just jump on the band wagon at MH world. I've played all sbut the very first one. I beat monster Hunter Generations HYPER kutku Metroid themed hunt ALONE with only my prowlers as allies, if you know monster Hunter you know that is INSANELY difficult and I did it multiple times enough to craft full set of armor (not the bow gun tho, I stopped after getting the full suit and never wanted fight that damn thing again lol). There are some super tough missions on MH rise and when done solo they are a big enough challenge, but I did kinda miss the just downright absurdly impossible hunts of the older games.
I loved this on the Wii. It was such an impressive and beautiful game. It's now 2021...the switch has an amazing remake and I debated for TOO long which version I should choose to replay something I loved so much. It may seem odd to some...but I chose the 3ds version. The reason is simple tho ,because I LOVE the 3ds, it's my all time favorite console. I love it's battery life and how easily I can take it to work or wherever I want. I'm having a blast reliving this game. I knew the visuals would be lesser than the original Wii version, but it's not that big a deal, imo it's still beautiful on the 3ds and every inch of the ENTIRE massive map size is still here. That was the most impressive part back on the Wii, there were no games of that scale on Wii until Xenoblade. And 3ds has similarly rare exceptions of games of this size so to have the option to experience on 3ds instead of switch or switch lite....I just couldn't justify NOT getting the 3ds version.
@gergelyv You are so RIGHT lol. Nintendo was indeed on life support before switch because of WiiUs poor sales....but what bugs me is that the ONLY reason Nintendo made it thru that period was THE 3DS!. But now that Switch is clearly a MEGA success, Nintendo kicks it's savior console to the curb despite the fact that they could still EASILY make $ off it, they just don't want to for some reason. Imagine if they made a Switch model with a flip down second touchscreen, make it able to play DS/3DS games in handheld OR TV mode (by using a wireless interact to the dock and use system as the second DS/3ds screen). Now add on ability to play WiiU titles too (digital copies of course). WHO wouldn't drool at the sight of that? Not Nintendo apparently...
I was really annoyed until I got to the end and saw MH stories was there afterall. It's one of my FAVORITE turn based RPGs ever and one of my favorite 3ds games. It's also visually unbelievable, it's in that rare category of 3ds games that are a cut above the rest and look more like Wii-u games, RE: revelations, SMTIV: apocalypse are other examples in that category.
Hehe I remember hearing what I thought was a rumor about Starfox 64...unlocking the "on foot" multiplayer mode. Me nor my friends ever saw it or had it unlocked but we would hear that "somebodys brothers girlfriends ex boyfriend" had it and THEY saw it. For years I thought it was BS lol. But no....it was indeed very real. The internet was in infancy in those days so things were so different. You couldn't just whip out a phone and determine fact over fiction. In a way I miss those "days of mystery"....now they are replaced with "days of misinformation" lol. God bless the internet...praise be to Al Gore.
I like this very much. It's a trailer-demo ppl! It's just showing the simplest most basic ideas of the gamea base concept. Awaken/light up bugs and they help you in some way or another. It's clearly not a preview of the games most impressive moments. Anyone else remember "Majora's mask" first look rofl. Judge it by that and you'd think the WHOLE game was a deku scrub wandering around a tiny town area playing hide and seek with children.
Wow. I didn't know this existed. I had to learn about it in an old "South Park" episode. NINTENDO! What are you doing? WHY was this not ported/remastered for 3ds?? I want this game now
This is a far better game than it's given credit for in this review. How many of you played we're excited about "Castlevania: mirror of fate"? Only to be disappointed...annoyed that it was nothing like the side scrolling metroidvania you wanted/expected it to be. I found Aeternoblade sometime after that experience with Mirror of Fate and It felt like I had found what Mirror of Fate should/could have been. Aeternoblade isnt a perfect game, but it's the closest thing to a REAL genuine sidescroller Castlevania that exists on 3ds. I decided to post after returning to the game years later for a replay after noticing it had an Update. I was reimpressed all over again. It still holds up well after all this time even after I've played some truly remarkable recent Nintendo switch metroidvania games. Aeternoblade is a good game and in the proper context of being an ultra rare animal on 3ds it's STILL worth a playthru. Needless to say It's no longer worth the full 15$...but its absolutely still well worth the sale price that ranges 4-6$.
Ok yeah. I agree like half of those. Nice going nintendo life! Getting better. There are some recent 3ds eShop indie games that are worth a look too. There's 2 from the same Silver Falls series. They are both survival horror but very different. I have to be honest that the first one "Silver Falls :3 down stars" had some flaws and glitches in it's story mode....but the main attraction is it's resident evil revelations raid mode style mode called "frontier fighters" it doesn't have those issues and glitches and is more than good enough on its own to make it worth buying imo. The second game is "silver falls: Undertakers" it's also a survival horror about aliens and UFOs too, but it's retro Atari inspired instead of a modern over shoulder RE type. Its a very cool game that is bloody, gory and full of dark humor but it looks like an Atari game. It's story mode is pretty much open world where you go around and save children and other ppl from deadly undertaker alien creatures using different items and weapons you find. There's plenty of NPCs to talk to and it's pretty funny. It has its own "mercenaries" type mode too and it's alot of fun. You fight waves of Undertakers with diff characters and weapons, unlock upgrades and can for some reason even recruit a duck and a time traveling DOG to help you fight. This stuff is completely overlooked by pretty much everyone. But both games are recently released this year and last year on 3ds. They aren't perfect but WELL worth a look
Funny how they never mention how DS and 3ds saved Nintendo during poor WiiU performance. The Switch is a great system that I have and love, but they are so quick to toss 3ds to the curb when it is responsible for getting them to this point. 3ds is still my favorite console of all time, it's a bizarre mistake to push it away so quickly. Nintendo is great but they really make strange decisions sometimes. They couldve squeezed so much money out of a hybrid 3ds switch console, which would've had 2 screens and could've also been easily worked to play digital copies of WiiU games and have much easier time porting WiiU games into little cartridges due to having the proper screen setup you need for it. That would've quadrupled the switches already massive game library. It's so frustrating
There was a remake on Wii many years back. In all honesty it's multiplayer wasn't good enough, but the actual game itself was pretty damn good....but like most Wii shooters it just wasn't good enough looking and didn't control well enough to show off what the Wii was truly capable of doing. The best two examples of what the Wii shooter library SHOULD have been like is the "Metroid prime 3"/"Metroid prime trilogy" and the short but absolutely gorgeous looking and perfect controlling "Red steel 2". If the early Wii games were like "red steel 2" the landscape of games, esp third party would've been so different. Motion controls wouldn't have become a jhoke about waggling and WiiU wouldn't have failed. Sometimes I wish I was in that branch timeline and see what "should have been" for the Wii and wiiU, I gurantee that dimension has a great "GoldenEye 007" remake....
If anyone is interested, there is a BRAND new "retro" inspired game in the 3ds eShop TODAY. I personally know the developer and I was first in line to get it. Costs 5$ and it's called "Silver Falls: Undertakers". It's second Nintendo 3ds game in the silver fall series but this one isnt Resident evil/silenthill inspired like the first, it's a "what if survival horror was on Atari". It's a genuine retro game with modern theme and story about alien creatures. It's gory but it's an Atari styled game. There is gameplay videos of both game modes on youtube and it's absolutely worth a look imo.
PS. If you heard bad things about the first silver falls game, know that YES it had some bad glitches and issues upon launch because it was too ambitious for 3ds unity and a one man indie Dev . This second game does not have any issues and runs very well.
Rofl. I've heard of this "gaming disease" before. I think we've all experienced a case of it before. The sadness that comes when you know a great game is about to end, then you stall, go complete everything else only to inevitably come back to the final end. I thinks it's the human condition, a parallel of our own lives maybe. But unlike our lives, there are countless great games to play. I try very hard to complete every game and see thru to the end but even I fall into the trap sometimes.
I was really hoping windwaker would come to 3ds after how great Majora's mask turned out. But that ship has sailed. I'd love to see on switch. Also you got to sorta shoot other boats in windwaker, the bombs fired from the cannon and there were stupid little enemy boats. Not great but it did happen
Wth lol. This is something a crazy person would come up with. Let's make a feature that only works if you do what EVERY freaking gaming system ever tell you to never do....pull out the game cartridge while your playing it. Good Lord, I believe whatever that nonsensical idea was it eventually turned into what it sometimes called "code linker" or "code linked" games where it's password oriented. Lol nice piece of history tho
Since when is ANY system power fully utilized? 3ds for example had tons of games over maaany years. The system is famously underpowered but how many games really pushed the hardware fully? If you ask a 3ds fan what the most technically impressive game is on 3ds, most would say "resident evil: revelations". This was a relatively early game in the 3ds lifespan but even after the "new" 3ds model released this game still remained the most technically impressive game. If you don't know what I'm on about just look up what that games gameplay looks like and compare to...well anything else on 3ds from any year. It's still impressive looking in 2021 imo. It still boggles my mind how Capcom got resident evil 5 engine to run on a 3ds at all. The only other game that almost impressed me as much is 3ds version of "Xenoblade chronicles". It's not nearly as visually sharp but it's massive scale survived the conversion to 3ds mostly intact and SCALE def matters as 3ds has very few games with such large map size. I do wonder 10 years from now looking back, how many switch games pushed console to the limit of performance
I know that nobody will agree but the VERY first Kirby's Dreamland on GB will always be my favorite. I loved that game as a tiny child and played and beat it we'll over 100 times (no jhoke, seriously 100s of times). I could beat start to finish just under 20 minutes and even beat the hard mode a few...dozen times 🙃. My sister even made me little stuffed animal Kirby's way before any real merchandise existed. A Kirby and a "Beam waddle Doo" stuffed animals. So def first Kirby's Dreamland is number one for me, then Kirby's adventure on NES which was incredible, then SNES Kirby superstar because it was magnificent and I'm still waiting for a proper remake of the "cave offesenive" imagine how cool a metroidvania Kirby game could be? The "cave offensive" from superstar is the closest thing to this day. There's plenty of other good ones too but those are def my top 3
This was my first "action RPG" as a kid. So small I was annoyed at having to name my characters. I still remember putting "SHABAZ" as the boy and "COW!!!" As the dog, no idea why I did that. I played this game over and over. I knew EVERYTHING, er at least I used to... I used to know the EXACY trigger to avoid messing up the boss fight with "Tiny". I used to know how many times to save, end and reload to artificially suddenly attain the diamond eyes you need if you screw up the "sequence with tiny". At first glance it seems like you can't progress and must restart entire game but if you save and reload and wander around and do "something" you end up randomly having the needed diamond eye in your inventory. Didn't mean to spend so much time on that part , there's so much wonderful stuff I should've talked about instead. Great game, taught me invaluable lessons on how to tackle difficult boss battles ECT , lessons still relevant to this day. Also I still sometimes get the music from first prehistoric village stuck in my head from nowhere. Great stuff 😀
@colorfulrabbit it's the diamond eyes. I havnt thought about or played this since I was a kid but suddenly ALL came back after reading this article and couple comments. Remember "Tiny" from the second area of Olympian looking stuff. There was a glitch that prevents his boss fight from triggering. You can't progress if you do it wrong. However if you keep wamdeing around at some point you'll load your save and just suddey have the diamond eyes you need.

Re: Indie Dev Cancels Roguelike Horror Game For 3DS In Response To Nintendo's eShop Closure
Re: Review: Shantae - A Dated Dance That Completes The Set On Switch
Re: Rumour: Chrono Trigger Sequel Chrono Cross Might Be Getting A Remaster
Re: Review: Rage Of The Gladiator (3DS eShop)
Still a great game in 2022. 3ds is my favorite console and I have an absurd collection of physical and digital games that I've amassed over the 8 or 9 years I've been playing my 3ds. Somehow this game eluded me until a few days ago. It's extremely good and imo nothing like punch out, but I guess it's hard to compare it to anything else. The easy mode is too easy but gives a good training on how to counter later on. I found it very satisfying to learn when and what move can stop an enemies attack or how to dodge their attacks. The variety is massive and it's so great that it still holds up so loooong after it's release
Re: Liberation Maiden
Very interesting game with satisfying combat. I would've liked it to be a bit more maneuverable, such as being able to to freely fly up higher or dive downward but other than that it controls very well. Looks great too imo, maybe not as beautiful as kid Icarus flight sections but it's not an "on rails" type so it's very forgivable to have lesser visuals. It's fairly short but it's also fairly cheap so it feels right. There are surprisingly few games of this genre so I would def recommend this to anyone that likes stylus aiming games
Re: Nintendo's eShop Experienced Outages Over Christmas (Again)
Lol is this really that surprising? Even the 3ds eShop is always overwhelmed every Christmas and new years too for some reason.
Re: Video: The Best RPG Ever Made Still Isn't On Switch
Re: Review: Elliot Quest (Switch eShop)
Re: Random: This Guy Has Been Mining Out An Entire Minecraft World For 4 Years, And He's Almost Finished
Re: Review: Ambition of the Slimes (3DS eShop)
I had somehow overlooked this game despite priding myself on owning and knowing EVERY great 3ds cartridge and eShop game. I'm glad I finally discovered this. It's a clever game and I love it. If you like adorable games that are seriously challenging it's a must play.
Re: The "Live-Action" Mega Man Movie Could Be On The Way To Netflix
Oh god no lol....anyways I had a cool dream last night about MegaMan. I dreamed there was a a 3d open world first person view MegaMan Game coming out. In my dream it was on 3ds lol but Switch would be the obvious real life choice. Imo if done well, that could be really cool.
Re: Former Metroid Prime Engineer Admits He Was "Disappointed" With The Wii's Specs
Re: Review: The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (New 3DS)
Re: A Familiar Foe Is Punished Again By Metroid Dread Sequence Breakers
Re: Random: Forget Dread, It's All About Metroid: Other M On Twitter Right Now
I always defend "Metroid otherM " since it's release.
Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management
Re: Metroid Prime Trilogy Had A Core Dev Team Of Four, Surprisingly
Metroid prime is my favorite game series. Prime 1 is my favorite game ever, it's fantastic on the Wii. All of them are. I do wish they kept echoes the same. I remember battling that game for months to beat it, incredible experience. Games like echoes are so rare, it was really long and super difficult. Sanctuary fortress is crazy and you never even see it until you are really far in. These games need to see switch release they are ALL masterpieces, even prime 3 is amazing but is the weakest of the 3
Re: Former Capcom Designer Wishes He Could Have Stopped The North American Mega Man Cover
He looks like the Gerber baby but as a man. It's too ridiculous, I remember seeing it when I was young and laughing at it. I don't think the artist had any idea what he was supposed to draw. Like did he even see the game
Re: Review: Wolfenstein: Youngblood - Brilliant Co-Op Carnage That's Overshadowed By Its Forerunners
I HIGHLY recommend this game.....but get a physical copy lol, it was truly a pain to download this
Re: Random: An Eager 3DS StreetPass Fan Spent A Day In New York, Got Zero Hits
Tbh, that is NO SURPRISE. Street pass was NEVER extremely popular at any point in 3ds consoles life.
Re: Review: Luigi's Mansion - Experience The GameCube Classic The Way It Was Meant To Be Played
Re: Random: Fan Project Is Making Super Mario Galaxy DS A Reality
@Silly_G I'd take a prime 1 In format and graphics of prime hunters any day. All that stuff still true today
Re: Random: Fan Project Is Making Super Mario Galaxy DS A Reality
Mario 64 was impressive enough on its own on DS. Remember super Mario 3d land on 3ds? It looked very very similar to the Mario galaxy games in gameplay, graphics and stages. I thought for sure we would see both galaxy games on 3da but it never happened. I guess cause they wanted for switch but still. This easily could've been on 3ds but it's a miracle to see that happen on regular DS hardware. What's next? Metroid prime 1 on DS?
Re: Video: Remembering The 3D Classics NES Range On Nintendo 3DS
I loved Kirby's adventure on nes and was great to get on 3ds. Imo it was one of best Kirby games and best Nes games period. I still remember getting it when I was a kid and I was so amazed at how good and different it was than every game i had.
Re: Random: Local Council Installs Plant Pots That Look Like Mario Warp Pipes, And Residents Aren't Happy
It's silly...but I think looks cool. We've had road construction in same spots for last....15 years or so, I say screw it and get some warp pipes around here, money better spent imo
Re: Former Metroid Prime Lead Designer Targeted With Abusive Messages
It's unfortunate that ppl don't have the knowledge of what is required to port game or to make an HD port. It's not cut and paste. The difference of how games were run in Wii Metroid prime 3, GameCubes first two Metroid primes are extreme in difference compared to switch. Imo I think it WILL still happen, I think someone will cleverly find a way....as life often does....but it's not going to be like switching on the kitchen light. Idk where these Jurassic Park references came from but it's late...I'm tired.
Re: Nintendo Says It's Already "Looking Into" Animations Beyond The Mario Movie
Please NO Metroid movie or shows. Samus talked enough in "otherM" for a lifetime and we are lucky that didn't destroy Nintendo's best (imo) game series. Metroid is the BEST and also one of the most underused of Nintendo's assets...aside from Starfox and fzero...now those could absolutely be decent movies or shows but please save Samus for the gaming world
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 24th)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 24th)
Re: Soapbox: After 17 Years, Monster Hunter Rise Finally Made Me Kind Of Competent
Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (New Nintendo 3DS)
Re: Random: You Can Vote For The "Best Off-Model Mario" On Twitter Right Now
Wth...this is the real "miyamotos nightmare"! That Mario/kaola hybrid is the pure terror...look at the feet, why!?
Re: Switch Is Now Nintendo's Second Best-Selling System In The US, In "Tracked History"
@gergelyv
You are so RIGHT lol.
Re: Best Nintendo 3DS RPGs
I was really annoyed until I got to the end and saw MH stories was there afterall. It's one of my FAVORITE turn based RPGs ever and one of my favorite 3ds games. It's also visually unbelievable, it's in that rare category of 3ds games that are a cut above the rest and look more like Wii-u games, RE: revelations, SMTIV: apocalypse are other examples in that category.
Re: Memory Pak: Looking Into The Light In Super Mario 64
Re: Video: Beautiful Ghibli-Esque Platformer Hoa Gets A 7-Minute Gameplay Trailer
Re: Review: Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS)
Wow. I didn't know this existed. I had to learn about it in an old "South Park" episode. NINTENDO! What are you doing? WHY was this not ported/remastered for 3ds?? I want this game now
Re: Review: AeternoBlade (3DS eShop)
Re: Video: 11 Great 3DS Games Overshadowed By The Nintendo Switch
Re: Reggie Admits Switch Was A "Make Or Break Product" For Nintendo After Poor Performance Of Wii U
Re: Video: A Full Playthrough Of GoldenEye 007's Cancelled Remake Has Leaked Online
Re: Mini Review: Timothy And The Mysterious Forest - Imitates Zelda's Visuals But Not Its Gameplay
Re: Soapbox: I Never Completed Breath Of The Wild, And I Never Will
Re: New Sail Forth Trailer Awakens The Wind Waker Fan In Us
I was really hoping windwaker would come to 3ds after how great Majora's mask turned out. But that ship has sailed. I'd love to see on switch. Also you got to sorta shoot other boats in windwaker, the bombs fired from the cannon and there were stupid little enemy boats. Not great but it did happen
Re: New Letter Details Why Donkey Kong 64's Innovative "Stop 'N' Swop" Feature Was Removed
Re: A 'Pro' Switch With More Power Might Not Even Be Fully Utilised, Says Industry Veteran
Re: Poll: What's The Best Kirby Game?
Re: Review: Secret of Evermore (Super Nintendo)
Re: Review: Secret of Evermore (Super Nintendo)
@colorfulrabbit it's the diamond eyes. I havnt thought about or played this since I was a kid but suddenly ALL came back after reading this article and couple comments. Remember "Tiny" from the second area of Olympian looking stuff. There was a glitch that prevents his boss fight from triggering. You can't progress if you do it wrong. However if you keep wamdeing around at some point you'll load your save and just suddey have the diamond eyes you need.
