I play my 3ds EVERY day and I have 3 of them (original 3ds xl, original 2ds, and "new" 2dsXL. I'm honestly appalled at Nintendo over it's handling of transition from 3ds to Switch. I don't wish to go into detail (I'm so tired of telling this story) but 3ds kept Nintendo relevant during it's unfortunate WiiU slump and now that it's clear Switch is a success they are almost enthusiastic about trashing the 3ds. It's disgusting how some developers are being treated that dared to attempt NEW games for 3ds in 2019-2020. Putting them in an impossible situation with no support or advertising and seeming to take actual joy in their suffering. Nintendo should be ashamed of themselves. I didn't mean to go in this direction with this post but too late now.
Wish Nintendo would put even a tiny effort into releasing updates after they are submitted. Wonder what the real top selling games would be if they weren't internally playing "favorites" all the time and give all their games equal treatment they deserve
Wow, it would have seriously stood out on 3ds. There are a few good titles, but 3ds was starved in that genre. Feel free remind me of others, but off top of my head I can only think of a few Diablo-ish genre 3ds games. There's the decent but incredibly short (for an RPG) "heroes of ruin" which was a blatent Diablo clone. Then there's "Fantasy Life" which is excellent and is like Diablo+animal crossing, it's quite long, has lots to do and lots of stuff to fight. Has all the weapons, armor, items as well as crafting. Fantasy Life has wide variety of content and is great for kids and adults, def one of 3ds best. But that's really the only competition "Minecraft dungeons" wldve had on 3ds. Ther may b one or two others I'm forgetting, but still not many on 3ds
@FargusPelagius nintendo never let Silver Falls upgrade the demo, so it's as broken as the original launch version was. In Europe there's even a 1.3 version that adds 40 hours into the " frontier fighters" mode content. Nintendo of America will be releasing that update soon but viral tradgedy is delaying it. The demo is just another hurdle that "silver falls: 3 down stars" must overcome to change it's reputation. 1.2 is currently what's available in Nintendo of America jurisdiction and I promise it's nothing like the demo.
@FargusPelagius Oh. I should've mentioned the demo is from the 1.0 version back when game was indeed completely broken. The YouTube video that shows 1.2 gameplay is closest thing around to an "accurate" demo.
And yet ive been waiting for an important update patch to release here (Nin of America side) for a brand new, 2020 released, "NEW" 3ds game "Silver Falls: 3 down stars" without any way to find out why update 1.3 is out in Europe week(s) ago but not here. NoA won't respond to social media inquiries and even the games developer doesn't know why it's not released everywhere by now. Use some that profit to give your smallest partners some love.
Lol, been waiting weeks for an update for a game that's already out in Europe but not here. But at least we have a new stability update and daily animal crossing updates to rename "switch" to "light switch" instead.
Aww come on Nintendo 😉. An Update to change a light switch name? I hope some of the lesser known games get their turn to have updates released soon..."new" 3ds "silver falls: 3 down stars" version 1.3 out in Europe weeks ago but not here yet 👽
I have on a "new" model 3ds and its seriously one of the best and most unique games that I have ever played on any system. The combat reminds me of the late in life Wii game "red steel 2", which for those who may not know, was freakin fantastic and pretty much the only non Zelda example of perfect Wii motion sword controls. Severed is red steel 2 like combat feel but with the stylus. Graphics are trippy and artistic, almost resembling black light posters at times. Again one of the best executions of unique ideas I've ever seen from a game
There's great brand new 2020 released games in 3ds eShop that just sit there begging to be discovered. "Silver Falls: 3 down stars" is one of them. It's an indie made silenthill/resident evil type game over shoulder view n laser sight ala resident evil 4, this game IS GOOD, but got ignored/trashed due to an accidental release of a broken version of the game, these versions were reviewed and horribly trashed. "silver falls: 3 down stars" has since been fixed and has even more new updates/content waiting to be released by nintendo right now. Check out YouTube video of "silver falls: 3 down stars" make sure it's version 1.2 gameplay video and take a look for yourselves at this truly impressive one man studio indie achievement. Nintendoo WILL NOT advertise them whatsoever unless it has something to do with Switch as well.
Ironfall was a great effort...but I just didn't like it...at all. Idk why exactly, but def the lack of alt control options was a huge factor. Stylus controls are fine but just didn't feel right on this game and there's no alternative. Def 5/10 overall wld b accurate in this case. I know it's different type of shooter, but moon Chronicles remastered is better imo
Its a true shame to think of how many ppl have missed out on fun game experiences due to reviews such as this. It's a major lifelong annoyance of mine that reviewers wield power they are unqualified to wield. They find fault where non exists and pick apart things in a way that they must think sounds clever or something. The magic hammer never makes any claims that it doesn't fulfill. It's budget-cheap and clearly is part of "wobbly tooth's" legitimate achievement in creating an "infinite" progressional generated game that will run on standard 3ds hardware. Along with magic hammer, there is "battle miner" and "battle miner Z". All 3 are wobbly tooth games that feature their impressive feat. It was supposed to be impossible on standard 3ds hardware and even "Minecraft" itself is only available on "NEW" 3ds models. That means in creative mode there's lots of fun to be had in magic hammer, Minecraft style building on very cheap budget. But this version of wobbly tooth's engine has a cute RPG adventure story mode as well. The story and dialogue is ridiculous and simple. Combat is ridiculous and simple. You fight, level up, use heal potions tht you buy from red shirt drug pushers. Explore n clear the bone yards of monsters, kill it's boss n gain new moves/magic. It's not some incredible super game, but 5/10 is just incorrect, it's not even a matter of opinion w a score that low. It just means you can't objectively judge anything accurately. It's not Skyrim on a PlayStation , and shldnt be judged as such. I bet didn't even know how big of achievement an infinite progression world is on standard 3ds.
Speaking of updates...Nintendo of America can you check your "to do" list for 3ds "silver falls: 3 down stars" version 1.3. update? It's gone live in Europe already but not in the Americas. Also thanks for working hard during this rough viral era.
I'd had episode 1 for awhile, but recently picked up the other 3 episodes to play while I wait for Nintendo of America to catch up with Europe and release "Silver Falls: 3 down stars" version 1.3 update. Moon Chronicles being released in episodic way honestly makes no sense and it's not the only baffling choice renegade kid made w this game. However the moon Chronicles is a solid fps for 3ds (once you combine all 4 episodes). It runs very smooth and imo looks quite good. It's not as visually stunning as renegade kids "dementium remastered" but it's no slouch by any means. Gameplay reminds me of Metroid prime hunters on original DS in a very basic way. From finding hidden health upgrades to using the remote robot in a similar way as Metroid "morph ball", it's more of a Metroid prime feel than actual 3ds "Metroid prime: federation force" . I even occasionally found myself unconsciously shooting the doors n wondering why they didn't open for me. Much like dementium, this game is somewhat underated imo and quite nice addition to the shooter starved 3ds handheld wonder.
Dementium remastered is a better overall game (one of creepiest games I've ever played) but moon Chronicles is a better shooter game. U can rarely see more than 6 feet in front of you in dementium w guns drawn. The visuals in moon aren't bad. The cutscenes actually look worse than the in game graphics for some reason. Grainy and very PS1 blurriness in cutscenes but same character model in game is super sharp and shiny even. Only have episode 1. It's fun distraction for 8$ and worth it even in 2020. Was shame not more games like this were made on 3ds. Imo fps and third person shooters worked very well on 3ds . Theres even a "new" 3ds only Indy studio take on a "resident evil"/"silent Hill" type game called "silver falls:3 down stars" it's over the shoulder view resident evil Revelations style but obviously nowhere near as polished n pretty, but it's a competent and severely underated effort from a low resource studio. It's better than moon and dementium combined.
I can't believe anyone has to be told not to do this, even more so I can't believe anyone would want to do this. It very much makes no sense and is even self defeating in a way. Someone ties so much importance to a good record so they disconnect to keep their record from gaining a loss right? It's fairly easy to do and ppl who do this are aware that people are doing this. So they know their record is false, they know other ppls records are false, they know that other ppl know his/her records are false...so why would anyone even care enough to do this in the first place? Or is this a chicken or the egg type situation?
Resident Evil 4 started out modern. It's already been rereleased on Wii with motion control aiming (that actually made it too easy) and it was already rerereleased as remaster in HD. What is there to add/change? They could add the newer(ish) resident evil mechanic of being able to slowly walk around with weapon drawn while shooting...so an entire remake just for that lol. I'm in!
I enjoyed dementium remastered. 3ds has almost no games in this genre. It has the absolutely incredible resident evil Revelations....and that's it for big studio horror types. I knew what to expect (and not expect) going in. I had briefly seen the original on ds once and knew it was a one note type game. That being said they play the hell out of that one note. It's creepy, like actually creepy and unsettling, almost the entire time. In the dark alone with head phones and this game really delivers, albeit for only 6 or so hours. But it's an experience I would absolutely recommend for a 3ds owner who likes unbelievably creepy hallways. Replay value is it's main downfall, when u already know what lurks in the dark it's not quite the same. Game runs super smooth, very little load times, comes off both well polished and rough at the same time somehow. The flashlight effects were downright impressive but when switched off the darkness did not resemble at all what actual darkness should be, more like a black fog. A few doors had bizarre continuity if u backtrack thru them they take you to the incorrect location usually a room or 2 past where it shld be. Most ppl won't notice glitches like that but they are there if u want to find them. Also discovering or finding items earlier than the game expects can lead to weird problems. All in all this is worth playing, once. 6/10
I'm glad they are being honest and responsible. All 3ds and switch users understand the worldwide situation and know it's going to delay and obstruct things in unpredictable ways. Work remotely and roll out whatever updates/patches and games you can and that's all 3DS and Switch fans could possibly ask for in this new wacky world
I'm playing something that hasn't seem to been discovered yet. New Nintendo 3ds only "Silver Falls: 3 down stars". It's a brand new game available in eShop. The game has gone unnoticed due to a mistakenly broken version being accidently released, then reviewed, and trashed. Version 1.2 is out now worldwide and is completely different than any review says. If you enjoyed resident evil Revelations on 3ds or silent Hill from previous consoles this game will not disappoint. Look at YouTube video n make sure it's version 1.2 and you'll see game that deserves another look.
