HEAVY-handed moderation is an understatement! I like that they don't allow personal info to be shared, because oh yeah, there were a few creepers hanging around for sure, but the admins could be big time azzes! When this issue came up on NL and someone came to share his misery, there was always some internet Dudley Do-Right to ride in and say, "Ooh, shame shame! You must be a bad person!"

Young people, "family-friendly" sure, if you draw a giant ding-dong that's one thing, but people were reduced to writing disclaimers on their forum posts to the admins in hopes of not being struck or banned. Give people a little power, sheesh. They needed black armbands and cattle prods.

After my first perma-ban, I thought I learned my lesson, but kept stats anyway. Here's what led to my second perma-:

Use of the word hacked
Drawing of Dog the Bounty Hunter's wife in a bikini
Use of the word boosting or variations x 3
Writing a msg to the admins saying, "This is not hate speech."
Root beer stein drawings x 2
Mention of Jennifer Aniston
Drawing a lower-case Greek omega character - "sexually explicit"
Something written in Japanese
"We have received multiple invalid violation reports" - ban
Finishing Move: I said, "In the 1980s We beat the reds." *(Perma-ban plus console ban warning.)

Pucker on some sweaty giggle berries, badmins!

A lot of fun! Deserves an update, to be sure!

Love all the tweaking you can do with gear - it actually really matters here; on many or most similar games, it doesn't matter.

Also love the heavy Japanese elements.

Re: Nintendo Switch Won't Have Miiverse Or StreetPass

Complaints against the Miiverse admins is worth googling if you have a few minutes in the can.

People would get banned at the drop of a hat, and ban wars ensued. Good in theory, to keep things kid-friendly, but damn, try arguing with one of these guys about, "My drawing was NOT of a -----." Going down that road just got ridiculous, and perma-bans were not hard to get.

The trailer above was plumb awful!
Half of it was on some stage select with a bunch of crappy hexagons, and then the rest of the game, we are to infer, is in red Orochi world? Maybe I'll pass after all.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS eShop Games of 2015 - Summer Edition

So many inconsistencies with the promo photo.

1. Why are the two Asian chicks hanging out with that thug? Unless it's the set for a blue movie, it looks pretty implausible..
2. Why do they all look like they've never played 3ds before? They're not stereotypical looking gamer grrls.
3. Therefore, who is being targeted in this ad?
... ...
Not buying it.

Re: Poll: Where Do You Stand on Miiverse and Its Planned Changes?

HnD

A big part of Ma N's rationale is that user conversations are "limiting peoples' full enjoyment of the games." Where did that happen? Everyone posts on WiiFit or YouTube if they want to blab about nothing. That's a full 1% of their communities, but accounts for the great majority of traffic to their forum.

The moderators may have their hands full, but don't overlook false-reporting and overly severe perma-bans with no means for remediation.

"Making Miiverse better." What great Newspeak for a big shakedown.

Re: Review: G.G Series VERTEX (DSiWare)

China needs to give its workers a few days off, and Nintendo needs to stop populating its e-shop with these 30-year outdated duds.

Still, unexplainably, NL ranks this higher than Japanese Rail Sim 3D. Go figure.

Re: Review: Japanese Rail Sim 3D Journey in Suburbs #1 (3DS eShop)

TRUE: This game could likely appeal most to a niche audience.
FALSE: This game deserves 3/10.
Biases: I love riding trains in Japan.

The demo is a good time. Give it a whirl and hopefully, buy the full game to support the great little company making it.

3/10 feels like a death sentence.
