I've got a ps5 deluxe preorder since I wanted to start from day 1 (even earlier) and I needed this extra resolution.
Coz on a big TV if you are far away things look almost nice (NS2 in my case). And terrible in portable on NS2 (did not compare with oled).

But when I compared NS and PS5 demos, PS5 looked so much more crisp that I picked the game for it instead

Re: DAEMON X MACHINA: Titanic Scion Gets A New Teaser Trailer

Gau

I haven't beaten the first Daemon X Machina since I was tired of all those random new characters every mission and awful voice acting (at least in English).
However I really loved the art style and the music.
The OST is a blast. I have the album added in my Apple Music - there are so many great tracks (great for driving to them) that I often want to return to the game.

Re: Review: Super Meat Boy Forever - A New Formula That Takes Away More Than It Adds

Gau

Playing it now and enjoying it way more than Mario Wonder...
The gameplay is great, the OST is amazing, the story is meaty and nice and expected.
I encountered zero situations with impossible level sections, no framerate issues detected.
Plays and feels great both on TV and portable.
Finished the main story and 2 dark worlds with A+ rank.
I do not see a problem with the game and with all whining about it being a different genre. The game is very fun, rewarding. Tough though, (but)/and fun

Re: Poll: Do You Want To See 'Super Mario Bros. Wonder 2'?

Gau

No. It was one of the most boring platformers I have ever played. Something feels wrong.
Maybe due to the age already. But Wonder did not give me anything more comparing to New SMB series.
Those random seeds effects contributed to almost nothing.
The difficulty is meh. Even considering an option to turn the online mode off. But I did not feel like turning it off because I did not want to spend to much time in this game.
I also always forget it exists. Maybe in the World 5 now. The game behaves in a way that it is made for a 5 yo. All those "yay and whee" from flowers etc. I'd prefer a SMW style of the "story" where the game feels more for every age.
Comparing to Donkey Kong games or Celeste (which is great nintendo-like platformer) even, the Wonder game is not appealing at all

I haven't played Rayman Legends yet. But I am sure it would turn our to be a better game already.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance Confirmed For Switch, Adds New Chapter & Storyline

Gau

I am kind of pissed off with the vanilla game which I have not finished yet. Though I bought it day one the box deluxe edition with the artbook and the bag and the CD.
However I have not bought the DLC for it.

I am not going to by SMTVV for the full price. Maybe I will get it at a discount. Provided I want to play it again.

THe game is great. But all this 'pokemon' process is a little bit annoying by the second half of the game. Though the battle system, exploration, ost are great.

Re: Best Retro Throwback Nintendo Switch Games - Modern Games With Old-School Style

Gau

@Glasso it was very boring.
We beat it one night with my brother.
Basically it has nothing new at all. Only the ideas any Contra game has.
Now interesting music, everything is very mediocre. And even the color scheme is not appealing - brownish as far as I remember.
It is way better to play CupHead instead. WAY better.

Btw, shame there are no ports of Contra 4. Really loved it on DS.

Re: Talking Point: Which Is Your Favourite Nintendo Controller? Every Nintendo Pad Ranked

Gau

Absolutely agree with you.
The Game Cube controller was and is super cool and unique.
I loved how it fit my hands, I loved the triggers (one of the reasons I am not sure how a possible F-Zero GX port would be tough to make without analogue triggers).
And I also love the Switch Pro Controller. It is super comfortable, nice gyro aiming and has a wonderful battery life (Hi to every PS4 and 5 controllers!).

Re: Video: Metroid Prime Remastered - Switch Vs. GameCube Comparison

Gau

I basically like the remaster.
It looks wonderful. Everything has an updated visual and I love it.
What changes I noticed:

  • the missile trace is now purple-ish instead of yellow/orange;
  • the arm cannon produces some smoke after a rapid and long fire just like the original GC version. The trilogy MP did not have that;
  • the 'mirror' in Chozo Ruins in the room next to the first save station does not reflect anything. It did reflect Samus in the original European version;
  • the Normal difficulty seems to be lover than GC European normal. Everybody dies so fast. I killed the Parasite queen within 15 seconds yesterday I think. It was not the case before.
Will the Hard difficulty be closer to the Normal from EU GC version or what? I remember the original US release was supposed to be easier than the European one due to lots of complaints at the difficulty. But this 'Normal' is super easy.

I liked the new control scheme. Now playing with dual stick controls + gyro aiming.
Also want to test the pointer.

I thought I would play using the original controls. But I think I will stay with the updated ones

Re: Review: GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon - A Dead Ringer From Konami That Struggles To Succeed

Gau

I have gotten the game recently at a discount.
Love it!
I even forgot it was similar to Dead Cells...
Still, it is a different game.
I like the aesthetics, the music (I can even say that I've bought GetsuFumaDen only due to 2 music tracks I knew from Castlevania/Smash OSTs), the controls, the monster design.
I spent the whole day playing it when I turned it on for the first time. And I was kind of lucky (or attentive) enough to notice that some materials dissapeared after death - so I had at least 1 or 2 runs I spent without investing into leveling up my char.

I had one run already and now increased the difficulty. I want to check other weapons - now I like katanas, dual blades, umbrellas and gloves.

Slow weapons are more difficult to use for me atm.

Still do not understand how this game got 5/10 here.

It definitely has less contect than Dead Cells. But this is a different game. And I do not mind it would take only 20-30 hours to enjoy. Tbh, infinite gameplay never appealed to me.

Re: Three Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online's Expansion Pack

Gau

Not sure about Alisia Dragon, but Earthworm Jim is fun.
And Beyond Oasis is super great!

I even just thought that it had probably more content than Zelda games back then. If I remember it right, there was a trial cave in Beyond Oasis. When you clear floor after floor beating enemies.
I think the first Zelda which had that was the Wind Waker.
And the spirit system was great. I loved the shadow, or whatever it was called. Just remembered, there were 50 gems for each of the 4 spirits - some were pretty hard to obtain.

Sega also needs to release Soleil in the Online Service - a wonderful Zelda-like adventure.

Re: Random: It's The 10th Anniversary Of Resident Evil: Revelaitons

Gau

The game was amazing visually back then.
It impresses me that it had so few sales on 3DS.
I really enjoyed it. And when I saw how it looked on WiiU, I was kind of meh. Looked better on 3DS as far as I remembered back then.
It was more immersive with 3D and headphones and in the dark 100%.
And the original black 3DS - mmmm. The one I have

Re: Anniversary: amiibo Have Been Draining Our Bank Accounts For Five Years Now

Gau

I hate amiibos
Not only they gixe us terrible additions to games (And if they give something good it will be even worse) but I cannot stop and buy the ones I like.
Like every Zelda amiibo or every Metroid amiibo. But I keep them locked coz they become dusty and stuff like this and I don't like playing with figurines... ((
