Re: White Day: A Labyrinth Named School Is Set To Haunt Your Dreams This Year

GC-161

Heads up to anyone buying this game.

The real game is hidden beind the HARD difficulty mode. Only in that mode (and Hell mode) will you unlock the full roster of ghosts included in the game.

If you play on EASY or NORMAL, you won't see the majority of the ghosts.

So I recommend playing the game on HARD when possible to get the full experience.

Re: eShop Closure Be Damned, This Dev Is Bringing Seven New Games To 3DS And Wii U

GC-161

@Dogorilla I'm buying some games on 3DS that are not that easy to get elsewhere or that are on platforms that are not dedicated gaming machines (mobile phones).

For instance, Castlevania: Vampire's Kiss is part of the Castlevania Advanced collection on Switch. But I'm not a fan of those GBA Metroidvanias. I like the Arcadevanias better. So my only option is to buy Vampire's Kiss on 3DS.

@Specter_of-the_OLED "after September 2022 and by March of 2023 we won't be able to re-download games either"

Stop spewing out false information. If you own a digital game on 3DS/2DS you will be able to re-download them again well after the eShop closes down. Redownloads are NOT being disabled any time soon.

Re: Review: Castlevania Advance Collection - Utterly Essential Thanks To Aria Of Sorrow

GC-161

@rushiosan Dracula's Kiss/Vampire's Kiss should be judge as a different game than the PC Engine version since back then Konami had signed an exclusivity deal. And that's why the SNES version is different. They had to develop it to play different but using the same assets.

So this review makes the mistake of judging the game not on its own merits but comparing it to a version that was running on a superior format (CD-ROM) and thus was able to incorporate much more content than on a cartridge.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Of Valve's Steam Deck Are In - What's It Like Compared To Switch?

GC-161

@Maulbert So nobody said that the Vita would beat the 3DS back in 2011? I mean there was a good reason for that...but some certainly did!

Here, let me remind you:

"Vita will be pitted against the Nintendo 3DS. But the comparison doesn't make a whole lot of sense, and even if you were to pit them against each other, Vita is still destined to sell better. That's because in addition to games (which Nintendo 3DS is still sorely lacking), it's also a much more powerful machine capable of doing a whole lot more than 3DS." - IGN (2011)

"(From a discussion after E3 2011) The more I see of Vita, the more I think Sony is getting it just right, and I can see it outselling 3DS. It almost certainly will in Japan, but I've got a feeling it'll be bigger in the West as well" - PocketGamer

Now here's the thing, tho. Like the 3DS before it, the Vita had a rough launch. It never took off as predicted in Japan or the US. And only showed some promise in Europe (a.k.a. SonyLand). But by the time E3 2012 came around, the Vita was floundering to such a degree that Sony had basically taken the spotlight away from the Vita. Showing a quick sizzle reel at E3 and focusing instead on... the PlayStation Move (remember THAT?).

So all the talk about Vita killing the 3DS was silenced almost immediately because of how fast the Vita failed to catch on.

In fact, the handheld war between the 3DS and Vita was settled at lightning speed. And any talk about "Vita is gonna beat the 3DS" was considered comical even in the same year that the Vita had launched. Again, because of how fast it dropped out of consumers radar. And that may explain why you rarely heard such discussions about Vita dominating.

You mostly saw that on forums, tho. But that's to be expected.

Re: Best Of 2021: A Tribute To Bobby "The Nintendo Guru" Pauls

GC-161

This story actually made me tear up, not only because of Bobby and the genuine connection and impact he had on everyone around him, but because I've also lost friends, family to COVID. So this hits home. Because you're losing people that mean a lot to you. And the tragedy is that the'yre dying way before their time.

I myself got COVID early last year. Before there was a vaccine available (and before the damn thing was politicized by a-holes pushing an agenda). ngl I nearly kicked the bucket. But somehow I made it through. But I'm still suffering the after effects of the infection - the virus really pulls a number on many of your internal organs. Getting vaccinated helped tho.

Anyway, rest in peace, Bobby.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Game Awards No-Show Proves It Simply Doesn't Need Anyone Else

GC-161

@CharlieGirl Well Nintendo doesn't need ANY award show or even something like E3 to sell games. They made sure years ago to distance themselves from that stuff by way of their NINTENDO DIRECT that are now being copied by Sony and to a lesser degree, Microsoft.

And yeah, the Game Award show is not that different from what MTV used to do years ago. Its just a huge advertising event. To show trailers or previews of products that are on the way.

I'm not getting a "This is The Oscars" vibe from them. Since if that were true, then the games winning awards would be mostly independent games that tackle serious issues. And not games like Resident Evil VIIIage that are basically more of the same old mindless action. And much less scares than the previous game, RE7.

The fact that The Game Awards show are just a huge commercial was what made me turn it off and do something else. Because I felt like I was trying to watch a YouTube video but was constantly getting unskippable adverts. Mostly of games that I had zero interest in.

Re: Review: Love Esquire - A Fantastic Voice Cast Elevates This Seductive Romp

GC-161

Gotta love how everyone got bent out of shape that the reviewer lamented the lack of LGBTQ inclusivity after said reviewer still gave it a grrat score.

And the same people that were triggered by mentioning the lack of inclusion also celebrated that you are allowed to bang your own sister in the game. Oh excuse me, "not-your sister" as they say on pornhub.

No wonder these animu games and its fans have the reputation of Jeffrey Epstein LOL

Re: Random: It Took A Year To Build This Scale Model Of Star Fox's Great Fox In Minecraft

GC-161

I honestly expected more of this to happen after the pandemic lockdown went into effect.

Not just with Minecraft but also Animal Crossing.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.

Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain when Nintendo takes down the servers, etc. etc. etc.

Re: Life Is Strange: True Colors Secures December Switch Release, Physical Version Arrives Later

GC-161

@IAmGamer2022 Correction:

True Colors was better than all the previous Life is Strange games. Period.

The writing was miles better than in LiS1. With its outdated dialogue (wowzers!) and stereotypical plot devices straight out of a 90s teen drama. LiS1 seems amateurish compared to the writing in True Colors.

But I think the issue with LiS1 is that they had a middle aged writer trying to give voice to teenagers. He was from another time. They could've hired a younger writer to make the dialogues seem more legit.

Anyway... gonna wait for the physical copy to hit shelves since I already played the game. So not in a hurry here. And after the GTA trilogy, I want to see reviews of the Switch version before I bite.

Re: Lots Of Resident Evil And Devil May Cry Games Are Discounted On Switch Right Now

GC-161

@VR32X Capcom was pretty damn lazy with that RE4 port for Switch. It fails to use any of the Switch's special features. Not to mention it lacks motion controls.

I still own the Wii Edition of RE4 which in terms of gameplay is superior to any other version on consoles. I mean the controls are so good that critics of the Wii version can only blast it for "breaking the game". Because unlike happens in other versions, getting headshots with the Wiimote is incredibly easy to the point that it almost feels like cheating.

Especially when you play the shooting gallery mini-game.

Re: Nintendo Switch Cloud Games List

GC-161

@-Moonchild- "Witcher and doom were heavily downgraded visually"

Pfft! You make it sound as if those games look like Playstation 1 games on the Switch.

You'll obviously be a bit foolish to expect The Witcher 3 to look like the PC version on ultra. But it looks great on Switch, especially on portable mode. Which is the big draw on said platform.

Comparison below between the Switch and PC versions:

https://youtu.be/aVmaupufOrQ

The point is that these "heavily downgraded" (LOL) games are actually pretty solid experiences on Switch if you're not constantly obsessing over why they don't run at 130fps or allow PC mods. Which is a stupid thing to expect on the platform.

Many of these cloud games could run on Switch natively if the owner of the IP handed the job to a competent developer and more importantly if they had a budget to do it.

Square Enix is infamously stingy and they couldn't be arsed into doing proper ports of games that could run perfectly well on the Switch. Fans of KH will probably skip the cloud versions because they want to own the games. So I dunno who tf is the target audience for these lazy cloud versions. If these KH games were available as physical or even digital versions on Switch, they would definitely sell.

It's their loss.

Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis 'Expansion Pack' Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

GC-161

@Wexter SEGA has been catching a lot of heat lately due to their infamously poorly optimized efforts on Switch.

Sonic Colours Ultimate being their latest wonky port. So yeah... don't get the Sega Collection that people keep peddling here and elsewhere. Because SEGA hasn't even bothered to patch that collection up. And probably never will.

The NSO Sega games will likely run on a different emulator. Like they did on the 3DS. Where they had zero input lag. So these versions of Mega Drive/Genesis games will be a much better proposition IF SEGA doesn't get involve with their own emulator (unlikely to happen since Nintendo wants to have control on how the NSO games run)

Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis 'Expansion Pack' Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

GC-161

@River3636 The SEGA Collection on Switch has horrible input lag. The NSO SEGA games will run on a different emulator that will avoid such issue. Like it does on the 3DS.

And most of us will like to have access to all these N64 games.

Especially because if Nintendo only charges $5 on top of a cheap af subscription, then all this moaning will seem laughable in retrospect.

Re: Nintendo 64 And Sega Genesis 'Expansion Pack' Announced For Switch Online, Launches This October

GC-161

I want Nintendo to go back to the Virtual Console days when they were charging $10 for each Nintendo 64 game. Mega Drive/Genesis games were about $8 or $9

That way I would only pay $216 to play these games on my Switch. Not to mention the ones that will eventually appear on the system later on.

Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Starfox 64
Yoshi’s Story
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
WinBack: Covert Operations
Mario Tennis
Dr. Mario 64
Sin and Punishment

Castlevania Bloodlines
Contra: Hard Corps
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Eco the Dolphin
Golden Axe
Gunstar Heroes
Musha
Phantasy Star IV
Ristar
Shining Force
Shinobi III
Sonic 2

Re: Accusations Of Foul Play Surface Around Record-Breaking Graded NES Game Auctions

GC-161

@Dannyyyyy Let's not talk about each other's mothers because I don't want to remind you that you made your own mother waste 9 months having you. So let's move on from that, shall we?

Now again... you haven't proven that Abramson's work is flawed. You haven't proven that Jobst report was false either.

Instead you want us to believe that Wata Games Inc. is a legit company that sells one of the best selling N64 games in history (there are literally millions of said game out there) for the same price as a Lamborghini.

Wata Games Inc. is obviously manipulating the market to make us believe that an extremely mainstream game such as Super Mario 64 costs the same as an expensive and limited edition sports car. Think about that.

What's next? Sell a copy of GTA V for 2 million?

These guys are a bunch of bozos that look at a popular game and immediately assume that it should cost millions.

Now take some of your own belly fat and slide off this site, man. Stop shilling for Wata Games.

Re: Accusations Of Foul Play Surface Around Record-Breaking Graded NES Game Auctions

GC-161

@Dannyyyyy Psh! Your doing a lousy job at convincing anyone that Jobst's or Abramson's reports are false. Thanks to your failure to provide any evidence beside your baseless opinions on them.

As a matter of fact, your entire counterarguments is to try and discredit the ones behind this report.

Exactly as I said in my 1st post here that a Wata Games Inc. plant would probably do.

You have only proven me right, cupcake.

Re: Accusations Of Foul Play Surface Around Record-Breaking Graded NES Game Auctions

GC-161

Yeah ignore everything that @Dannyyyyy is peddling here.

He's claiming that the video is full of falsehoods but fails to provide a single molecule of evidence proving his argument.

He's got nothing to add besides baseless opinions and tagging himself as a "collector".

So we're supposed to believe him and not Pat, a well known collector featured in the video? How convenient. And that behavior sure sounds familiar... considering that Wata Games Inc. has also been pretending to be both collectors and an authority in the grading field since their very inception. Fact is that their only expertise is in inflating the prices of games. That's it.

And its hilarious that this guy also tries to handwave away that Wata Games Inc. being heavily involved with Heritage Auctions and the scumbag that heads it.

Watch the whole video. Jobst provides proof of what he claims. And he's also honest enough to point out that if there is no tangible proof of something that he's showing you, he'll say as much in that video.

And then, there's also the fact that Abramson's report heavily hints the very same thing that Jobst report does.

So you got at least 2 different reports from two different people. Pointing out that there's a scam being perpetrated by these bad actors from Wata Games Inc. and Heritage Auctions.

Good thing that several media outlets are already reporting on this issue already. And doing their own investigations.

Re: Hidden Sales Data Of Graded NES Games Released To Combat Artificial Inflation And "Record-Breaking" Auctions

GC-161

@Funneefox This issue affects genuine collectors that want to own the physical games, not ROMS. So your advice only applies to people that don't care how they gain access to these games.

These scammers are pretending to be collectors but they're doing a terrible job at it. I mean they have no idea which games are actually popular.

For instance Abramson's report shows that these ignorant gibbons inflated the price of the craptacular Friday the 13th videogame for the NES. Despite the fact that said game has never been hard to find precisely because it's a lousy game.

Again, their scam is affecting anyone that wants to own physical games to be able to play them on original hardware. Like in my case.

I've tried playing 3DS games on a PC and on an iPhone and let me tell you... IT SUCKS all kinds of 4ss! Because of how they use the double screens, touch screen and microphone or gyroscope among other unique things.

Re: Hidden Sales Data Of Graded NES Games Released To Combat Artificial Inflation And "Record-Breaking" Auctions

GC-161

Just a heads up that Wata Games Inc. is already using plants on gaming forums to combat what Abramson and Jobst have uncovered.

Be prepared to hear that Jobst is a "white supremacist" enabler or one himself. Among other things to try and discredit his work. I've already saw that being pushed on Resetera by some user that failed to provide any proof of it when asked.

Jobst's video shows to what great lengths Wata Games Inc and Heritage Auctions have gone to create this get-rich scheme. Investing years into the whole thing

They're not going to go down without a fight.

Ffs 3DS games were already expensive before these basterds entered the scene. Their price speculation is probably what made them even pricier. Damn!

Edit: Please watch Jobst's video. It is a long one (over 50 minutes) but it explains very well who these people are and provides background and context to their scummy actions. If you collect physical games, please watch it.

Re: Feature: A Brief History Of Nintendo’s Home Hardware Add-Ons

GC-161

I think that after SEGA's disastrous experience with peripherals with the Mega Drive/Genesis, Nintendo took a more "less is more" approach.

Anyway...

Here's hoping that someone writes an article about why the UK is considered, ahem... "Sonyland" ever since the PS1 made it big there. Sony reigns supreme in the UK up to the present day*

And yet for some Strange reason, some of the best websites (Nintendo Life) or YouTube channels (Switch Up) dedicated to Nitnendo are all from the UK.

Please someone from the site explain that mystery to me.

*Just saw the NPD numbers showing that the Switch dominated the US hardware and software charts. Beating the crap out of the PS5. And yet... and yet the opposite happens in the UK.

@Quijibo Sorry if my previous post shattered your fragile manhood or your fragile sense of self. Its obvious that you felt personally attacked. Despite the fact that I was talking about myself.

Yes, despite talking about myself, you felt offended. And decided to write an embarrassing post where you try to make me feel bad for offending you. And it's an embarrassing post because again, I was talking about myself. So there was no reason for you to get the vapors.

But you still felt like grabbing your pearls.

To which I have to say... grow a thicker skin, son.
