Re: Sega's Valkyria Chronicles 4 Is Marching Towards Nintendo Switch

@Timppis Pfff! 😪

Go back to Gamefaqs with your weak as hell replies, kid. Meanwhile, welcome to my "mediocre users" list. Enjoy!

@AlwaysGreener Got any receipts on that?

You can't say VC (an IP from the new millennium) was NOT inspired in any way by a PIONEERING TACTICAL RPG series from the early 90's.

C'mon, son.

@PlywoodStick Why would it be a problem for a tactical RPG game that came AFTER other well known (in the dev conmunity) Tactic RPG's to be inspired by them?

Does anyone seriously questions if all the mascot kart games (Sonic/Crash Bandicoot) were inspired by Mario Kart? They were. And they sometimes improved that formula.

Being inspired by previous works is not a rare thing at all. Why such disbelief?

@ThanosReXXX "how the company itself pronounces the name should be leading, and as such, it is Say-Gah. No if's, and's or but's about it."

SEGA of Japan pronounces it SEH-GAH on all their adverts. SEGA developers also say SEH-GAH in interviews.

SEGA of America/Europe people pronounces it as an English person would. Thay is, as only they can say the name. Thus why they say "say-gah"

I rather go with how SEGA of Japan say it.

@Timppis "I still disagree that it is "blatantly inspired"..."

I was obviously mocking your statement that Code Name STEAM was "blatantly" inspired by VC. Which is a ridiculous statement considering Intelligent Systems are pioneers of the genre & VC was very likely inspired by those games that came first.

@PlywoodStick I think even you find it VERY hard to believe that a dev team that made a tactical rpg game in the new millennium, was not inspired in any way by the most influencial series in the genre. To call that possibility a rumor is silly. If you played the 1st VC game you can clearly see the influence.

But apparently that possibility seems insulting for fans of VC for some odd reason.

Re: Video: This Could Be The Most Awesome Gaming Room Ever

@ThanosReXXX The Japanese pronounce SEGA as seh-gah which is similar to how they pronounce Segata Sanshiro's name (seh-gah-tah).

Of course, Westerners pronounce it as either Sey-gah or See-gah in either the games or in adverts. But me personally? I'm pronouncing SEGA as the Japanese do: SEH-GAH

BTW, This whole issue of how to pronounce SEGA is quite a similar thing to how the English pronounce Mario (they say it like this: Marry-o instead of Mah-rio as someone that speaks Italian or Spanish would say it). And just like with SEGA, the Brits will claim that the game themselves say "Marry-o" and not Mah-rio. But again, that's because English speakers in the games and adverts are trying to say Mario the only way they can. But ask an Italian or Spanish speaking person to say Mario and it sounds like this: Mah-rio.

Life goals.

If I ever own a similar room, I rather it be full of coin-up arcade machines.

I loooved the days of going to an arcade joint after school. And playing multiplayer games with mah buddies.

But owning all the consoles doesn't seem like something I'll ever want... unless it is to use it as an argument in a console war thread ("I own all consoles, so you can't call me a fanboy! Ha-haaaah!)

Re: Review: Rocket League (Switch eShop)

@ninty-love The dev said they're working on it.

But that 3D comparison was grade A horse manure.

After playing on Switch and going back to 3DS, the difference is huge in terms of difference of resolutions. No comparison at all.

Oh well. Proof that nifty visuals a game do not make.

Anyway, this made me perk up a bit:

"Bayonetta. Twinrova. Gruntilda Winkybunion. There have been some truly terrific witches on Nintendo consoles over the years..."

Didn't even mention the best witch...

Re: TIME Names Nintendo Switch as One of the Best Inventions of 2017

@rjejr Yeah, Nintendo if America was adamant that the Switch is NOT a handheld and that it should be seen as a HOME console. But they're doing that because in America, home consoles are king. While handhelds are seen as archaic relics that are no longer relevant thanks to mobile phones.

In Japan, almost the opposite happens. It's mostly a handheld there.

Re: Naughty Hackers Have Homebrew Running On Switch Now

GC-161

I'm not interested in homebrew but kudos to those that do.

I just don't think its worth it living each single day with gbatemp on my browser 27/7. Having to keep up with the latest fix that will prevent me from owning a glorified brick. F-that.

Not interested, but I won't move a finger to try and stop those who are into this sort of thing. I'm good with Switch al naturale.

Re: Switch and Nintendo Systems Dominated US Hardware Sales in October

GC-161

@Rayquaza2510 It's amazing to me that Bethesda & Rockstar, two companies that had traditionally stayed away from Nintendo platforms, had more faith in the Switch than freakin' Capcom. A company that avoided going belly-up thanks to all the money they made on the 3DS over an entire generation.

They're not even going to localize MonHun XX for the West.

@justin233 They said this on Twitter:

"Hey Dani! We will surely have future updates for the Switch. Stay tuned as we always announce when there is an upcoming update for any platform. Thanks!"

That was in response to the resolution issue.
