The latest LEGO Ideas review has arrived, where talented fans can submit their own designs with the potential for their ideas to be transformed into real LEGO sets, and a number of gaming-inspired ideas made it to the final reckoning. Sadly, this time, none have them managed to get the final approval they needed.

Designs based on The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing and Among Us all managed to earn enough fan votes to qualify for the review, but ultimately came up short. Of course, it's always worth remembering that licensing issues for projects based on already existing IP would cause difficulities, and with Nintendo already working with LEGO on its own Mario products, the company might want to steer clear of fan-made designs in favour of its own.

As for the designs that did make it through? Those honours go to Hsinwei Chi for his Jazz Quartet, and Jaijai Lewis for his effort inspired by The Office.
