@faint Watching a movie on any screen smaller than what you find at theaters can be described the same way by purists.

However, my phone has a decent size high-res screen. And they don't look bad at all on it. So it really depends on what phone you have.

@Ervex_109 "It's great to see Nintendo promoting Mexican culture so prominently this year, especially in light of recent political events. Long may it continue"

My reply to that line of thinking was:

" I doubt that they added him because of politics. Mexico happens to be a rather big market for fighting games since the 90's. Which is why most of the most popular fighting games out there feature (often loosely based) Mexican or Hispanic characters. Anywhoo, its a neat addition"

I honestly do not understand why my reply got you so emotionally upset. To the point you accuse me of twisting your words. As if I had said:"YOU ARE SO WRONG. You're dead wrong and should be ashamed for even making the assertion that any dev that adds a Mexican is obviously making a political statement "

I simply commented that something like what I implied didn't happen. Not accusing you of anything because YOU didn't said that, obviously. I did.

Jeeesus some people here need to chill the f up.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Gives Its Full Analysis of Skyrim on Nintendo Switch

Just want to add my two cents about the "it's not a perfect port" comments that usually appear whenever a Switch port is reviewed by DF.

To call them "imperfect" because they don't look like it runs on a high performance PC or Xbox One X is completely missing the point.

It IS a perfect port when the developer makes FULL use of the Switch's capabilities. And they should be praised for doing a good job. Because some of these games, Doom and now Skyrim, they needed some dark magic to run as they do on Switch.

Sure, the discussion over these ports being downgraded is perfectly sensible. Considering there is an obvious difference in power and capabilities. No prob with that.

@Agramonte I'm so dang delusional that I'm the one claiming Doom failed on the Switch without any numbers to back that up.

Oh wait, no... That's you. LOL

And I see you avoiding paying Sony to play online on that glorified Netflix machine that most of its 67 million users barely use to play games on it. I mean not even the game of the generation, KNACK, sold 3 million on it. And it was bundled with the console. How embarrassing.

What is not embarrassing is admitting PC gaming is where its at.

@TheMadPolarBear "Basically in the UK, where I live at least, everyone just assumes Nintendo is for kids"

Which is an incredibly idiotic narrative for a shop to hang on to. Especially because they sell quite a lot of games to kids (albeit of the PEGI 18 rated variety).

Here in the States, you have zero difficulty finding shelves full of Nintendo games. Even at retailers that are not dedicated to selling gaming products.

But in the UK, that market is infamous for making Nintendo fans feel like they're trying to buy a game for the Atari Jaguar.

Re: Sonic Forces Struggles in Japan as Super Mario Odyssey and Switch Lead Charts

@Agramonte Nop. The 3DS reached the end of its expected lifecycle. It came out way back in 2012. While the PS4 is barely half way to its final destination as a glorified Netflix machine. So that was a nonsensical comparison. I dunno why you went there and honestly, you owe me an apology.

And Ninokuni2 is also coming out on PC. Master race FTW.

Re: Sonic Forces Struggles in Japan as Super Mario Odyssey and Switch Lead Charts

GC-161

@Agramonte Nop. Why you keep mentioning the Wii U, tho? Are you a fan of dead consoles or something? Do you own a Vita? Probably.

Anywhoo, the only issue that should matter to you is that the Switch, a hybrid underpowered console with no 3rd party support beats the bloody crap out of a 67 million selling glorified Netflix machine with strong 3rd party support such as the PS4.

The rest is nonsense. Especially dragging the Wii U out of its grave.

Re: GAME Praises Nintendo and Talks of 'A Constant Supply of Stock' for Switch

GC-161

@MisterKorman Why would Nintendo fans feel bad about the holiday season?

Unless those fans live in the UK. Then they have to deal with clerks telling them that they need to wait for their requested game to be pull up from under a concrete slab in the basement. Unlike Apple or Sony products. Which are displayed near the front desk.

Re: Sonic Forces Struggles in Japan as Super Mario Odyssey and Switch Lead Charts

GC-161

@Agramonte The only takeaway here is that you own a console (PS4) that has strong 3rd party support and yet its getting savagely beaten to a ghastly crimson pool of blood every single week by an underpowered HANDHELD with absolutely zero 3rd party support.

And on top of that, most of those 67 million PS4 owners use it as a Netflix machine. Which is why there isn't a single PS4 game that has sold 67 million copies. Hell, there isn't even a single PS4 game that has sold half that amount. No wait, there isn't even ONE PS4 game that has sold to a sizeable fraction of that user base.

So yeah, thassa Netflix machine.

^_____^

Re: Sonic Forces Struggles in Japan as Super Mario Odyssey and Switch Lead Charts

GC-161

@Agramonte The Wii U had a presence in Japan exclusively because of 1st party titles. While the PS4 struggled out of the gate until it had decent 3rd party support.

But even with strong 3rd party support, the PS4 is presently being savagely trampled into a bloody purulent and unrecognizable pulp by the Switch. Despite being in its first year and despite supply constraints.

Honestly I don't know how you can sleep at night knowing you own a console like the PS4 that keeps getting a bloody nose every single week by an underpowered hybrid console with zero 3rd party presence.

But such is life.

Re: Preview: Returning to a Strange Universe in Xenoblade Chronicles 2

GC-161

@OorWullie That's entirely subjective, tho.

There are many that will enjoy XC2 and Odyssey perfectly fine in portable mode. And they shouldn't be shamed into not enjoying it that way.

But the beauty of the Switch is that it gives gamers the OPTION of playing it docked or undocked.

Both ways is the best way to play it as long as you enjoy it.
